Yep, he's all debate bro tactics and no substance and I'm impressed that Hunter stayed composed through out, I would've lost it and somewhat did. But I do, geniunely, feel bad for Mike. He's got deep rooted problems and he's not coping well at all. I know this because I myself struggle with self-esteem issues. Builiding up a monstrously sized ego and thus becoming half delusional - is the coping mechanism you have to use to "always be right". And if Mike is always right, then Mike always has value, thus he can never afford to lose since then he'd be worthless in his own eyes. So he uses slimy tactics that keep him afloat by giving him the impression that "he's still winning". Oddly specific? Check the fourth sentance. I think of this dude as the extreme version of who I used to be.

Yeah I was really impressed with Hunter's performance on the Hippie Dippy Panel. Especially since he's a guy who doesn't have a huge history of debates. But I know he's been doing more, and he's definitely learning. I remember pretty recently he and Vaush did a tag team debate against Officer Tatum and...some other guy I can't remember. Vaush still did most of the talking, which is not surprising, since he's the more experienced of the two when it comes to debate, but Hunter pulled his weight for the team, to be sure.

Make note of the use of the term "traditional" when he mentioned the definition of social democrat. That's how the branch started. It came from a difference on the left of how you can go from capitalism to socialism and early social democrats were incrementalists and believed you have to ffirst fight for socdem reforms within capitalism and create conditions for transitioning to socialism. For example I'm a SocDem in a traditional sence. I want socdem reforms and hopefully in the future we'll have the opportunity to go further. However today the vast majority of socdems don't have a very long term goal to end capitalism. They just want to reform it and Mike's a piece of shit for mixing those meanings. And there is such a thing as libsoc but the label is far more useful in a country like Poland where our standard liberal parties are conservative AF, support the Church, deny equal rights for same sex couples etc. SocLibs are more progressive on social issues but can stan for the free market, love a flat tax rate etc. All of this however is a stupid academic level distinction and it's obvious that Mike is just obfuscating haaaaaard.

As someone who is a military brat and lived on a military base for 2 years, while living off base for the rest of my life, I can absolutely account for housing on military bases being pretty dang good. I lived on a base where the majority of the servicemembers stationed there were not high of a rank at all (pretty low on the pay grade), even the lower-income or lower-rank housing was pretty decent. I'm privileged enough to have one of my parents be rather high rank in the Air Force (above 0-3, but I'm trying to be vague to preserve some sense of privacy for my family), we were able to get a pretty damn nice house on base in a higher-rank neighborhood. Like I'm talking "down the street there's a 3 star general" neighborhood. This was only my first experience living on a base too, before then I had only ever lived off base in pretty nice middle-class suburbs, and we were given some portion of money for housing by the Air Force so that we wouldn't have to pay full price to rent a house. So unless Mike's military parent/sponsor was like an E-5 or under (or the equivalent of an Air Force Staff Sergeant or below), he'd have a pretty cushy life for himself with a decent sized house on base or he'd have a decent-sized housing check for housing off base.

Also, yes, you don’t fuck around with MP’s. I’ve ran from cops, like half the kids I know have done it, it’s not some crazy thing, but if you find your way into a military base (I used to drive through an Air force base 4 times a week), they are given much more leeway on how to deal with you than your standard cop. No probable cause needed to search your vehicle, and yes, the fact that it’s a base means they consider rule breakers a threat rather than a nuisance. There’s no way Mike ran from MP’s because they 100% would’ve found him if he lived on base

Literally everyone in the military gets a stipend to live off base, more depending on local cost of housing, dependents and rank. Only low rank unmarried enlisted personnel are forced to live on base (and therefore the military gets ur stipend). The BAH (basic allowance for housing) is usually enough for a nice suburban house, especially any officer / high ranking nco with dependents.
