1:00:00 Lattice kill on that earlier turn would not have been a full lock because that would put Karn to 4 loyalty and viable to die to fury. Seeing as the opponent didn't concede to the lattice also suggests that they had a fury in hand and hoped to be able to double fury to get out of the lock.

Would it make more sense to play Faerie Macabre in an Ensnaring Bridge deck? Or in this deck are you more concerned with Uro/Murktide rather than single target reanimations?

as a pauper players.. I have a few questions... Leyline is a great silverbullet for many decks i assume.. But if it's a double edged sword, wouldn't tormods crypts and faerie macabre be valid options?.. Also the lack of pyroblasts confused me... Someone who's a legacy players please explain to me these decisions
@ThrabenUniversity5 ай бұрын
Both Faerie and Crypt are valid options. Pyroblast is a reasonable card, but since so much of this deck's sideboard is dedicated to the Karn "wish" package, there just isn't much room for generic cards.

I would of thought at least a misers copy of Boseiju, Who Shelters All would be well worth the slot just to make sure Jokulhaups doesn't eat a counter spell every time you try and cast it, before anyone says it I am aware of the lack of synergy with Blood Sun.
@ThrabenUniversity5 ай бұрын
The deck already has enough situational and colorless lands. Once you start adding more, it becomes awkward to cast spells on curve.
@Nightmare-bn4sr5 ай бұрын
12:50 I mean, I'm not sure if bringing leyline of the void was the correct choice, as you said, it definitely can brick ensnaring bridge. But if you are not bringing it against an entomb+reanimate strategy, then why are they even in the sideboard?
@ThrabenUniversity5 ай бұрын
Not that Rescaminator is a deck that can EASILY win without its graveyard. Some decks like Beseech combo or a full Reanimator deck have a much harder time winning when the yard is shut off. Leyline exists for those cases.
@Nightmare-bn4sr5 ай бұрын
@@ThrabenUniversity I understand, it makes sense. Maybe I'm just biased because I really don't like leyline, especially in decks that can't cast it.

Match 1, game 2. Did you seriously not side in Leyline of the Void vs rescaminator because of the potential awkwardness of later in the game drawing one while you have an Ensnaring Bridge out? Would you not side in hydroblasts vs a red player because they might put a chalice on 1? But then you side in the leylines in Match 2 vs Strom?!?! In fact, given how much current meta relies on the graveyard, the argument could be made that the leylines should be main-decked.
@ThrabenUniversity5 ай бұрын
I don't think you fundamentally understand the matchup. I will die to a single Orcish Bowmasters (and I believe I did in one game). To win a matchup like Rescaminator, I need to lock out THE COMBAT STEP, not the graveyard. Leyline being drawn means that the orcs and bowmasters are free to attack me for the rest of the game through Bridge, which is essentially my win condition for the matchup. Boarding in something that invalidates the primary way I intend to win the game isn't going to be a good thing.
@blocktime5 ай бұрын
@@ThrabenUniversity In Game 1, you did lose while the Orcish Bowmaster was on the battlefield, but it was along with an animated Atraxa, and after you had to pitch cast a Fury to kill a Reanimated Grief. In Game 2, it went Grief, then they Entombed an Atraxa, Reanimated her, and then Reanimated their Archon of Cruelty. While it is possible that I don't fundamentally understand the matchup, it is also possible that you were overthinking it. You did NOT need to lock out the combat step, you needed to slow down/stop taking damage. You need to buy time to set up and execute your plan. Ensnaring Bridge does a great job of locking out the big creatures, but your main deck had 13 other cards that can deal with creatures, (plus 2 Brotherhood's End in the SB), but nothing to stop reanimator packages. (Except 1 Tormod's Crypt) You had plenty of cards that deal with Orcish Bowmasters. Trust the deck and sideboard that you built. Siding in the silver bullet, (Leyline of the Void), vs reanimator forces them to dig for the Brazen Borrower before they can really get going, giving you more time to set up and execute your plan. And if you truly are so concerned about a dead card in your hand being the reason you lose a game, so much so that you avoid siding in one of the best cards you could, then add a couple copies of Faithless Looting or better yet, some Fable of the Mirror-Breaker. Just so you know, this all comes from a place of love. I do enjoy your videos. Between watching you and Brian, my Legacy skill has grown by leaps and bounds, and I honestly thank you for that. If there was some other, deeper, meta reason that you would not side in Leyline of the Void vs UB Re-scaminator with Atraxa & Archon, I absolutely want to know. I just can't find sufficient reason to NOT side in Leyline of the Void vs UB Re-scaminator in that scenario, even without Faithless looting or Fable. Honestly, feel free to take my comments and discuss this on the Eternal Glory podcast. If I am wrong, I would love to learn why and the reasoning behind it.
