Love the straight to the point rebuilds. You skip all the BS and get to the point, hard to find video's like this.. It makes me miss rebuilding my yz125 and cr125.. I haven't had to rebuild a engine since i got a kx250f.

Any ideas on why the engine failed to begin with? Low oil, broken rod or piston? Oil looked pretty old. Lack of maintenance?

Not really my 2015 kx250f needed a top end just 2 weeks ago and it was only $250. Pretty cheap

Tyler Queen that's a piston. Try replacing a cylinder and complete head. Or even just valves and cams.

Carman E You May have read that wrong lol

Wait nevermind I see what you’re saying. Yes I know but we were referring to a top end only. If you were to blow it up completely the total cost would be around $1200-$1500. At least that’s for my rebuild if I needed it done.

I know this video is old but on my 2017 kx 250f I found 2 metal chunks along with a bunch of shavings so far and my mechanic friend thinks there from a thrust washer I haven’t opened it up to much but one of the chunks was in the clutch case and the other was in the black screen filter thing where they where in this video and I was wondering if you have had any similar experiences the bike runs fine but the clutch doesn’t work the best and from as far as I can tell there is not chipped gears or missing lugs on the clutch plates

Hi. First off all, you did a great job on the video and your imagequality and content are amazing. But i have one question: How did you manage to break lose the bolt which on the crankshaft at minute 6:42? Im am currently also trying to repair an old Honda 125cc motor and I also removed everything except this nut, because I do not know how to lock the inner clutch basket so that it does not move when I try to losen the nut. In your your video it seems like you could just hold the basket but that did not work for me. I hope you can help me and keep up the great work !

I'm not too familiar with TE510s, but check over the usual. Brakes, spokes, suspension seals, sprockets, linkage, cleanliness of air filter, etc. Biggest thing, if it's hard to start and it backfires on decel then it most likely needs valves.
