Again… another great weapon light evaluation!!! I run Streamlights exclusively and I have had good success with them all for 5+ years. Some have taken a tumble onto the ground before and worked just fine after each instance. I’m glad someone is out here testing all these lights and destroying them for the masses so we don’t have to destroy ours and pay to replace them 👍🏼

I’m pretty much a cloud defensive guy and have the Rein 1, 2 and 3.0’s. That battery flicker can likely be eliminated if you tighten the battery jack down inside of the light body. I’m gonna guess you guys probably have done that, but if not, I think that would’ve helped

+1, I notice that rein 3s need to be torqued tight otherwise they flicker. Other than that, I’d say they work as intended. I’m assuming it loosened up during the durability test. Being that it can be fixed by just tightening it down, it means there’s no catastrophic failure.

When you consider price I would say that Streamlight is a seriously solid choice. I was a surefire guy originally, but over the years I have fallen in love with Streamlight. I choose to trust my life to them. I have the TLR-7 sub on my CCW handgun, the TLR-1 HL on my favorite full size handgun, and the ProTac on a rifle. It's not a matter of price for me either, I have surefire lights and a Modlite PLHv2. Streamlight won me over regardless of price.

I agree. After watching their previous torture video on pistol lights and now this one, I'm amazed at how well the Streamlights hang with lights that are two or three times the price and are considered the toughest lights out there. For the price, they are amazing lights that can stand toe to toe with the best lights out there. I run a TLR-1 HL on my pistol and a RM@ on my rifle and they have been great. No problems with them at all.

The great thing about streamlight also is their lifetime warranty. I have a 14 year old protac hlx that went out on me. Sent it to them for warranty work and they replaced all the internals free of charge. Now I have a brand new 14 year old light again

So, the real takeaway here is that the 'premium' branded lights don't offer anything substantial over the 'budget' lights in terms of durability. Not really surprising to anyone whose run all of these lights on various platforms. My only concern is recoil vibration from heavier caliber setups, like a SCAR 17. That was the only reason I sent with a Cloud Rein 3....otherwise, I've been pleased with Streamlight and Olight. Suggestion for the future: Flashlights that are not specifically marketed to the WML crowd (like Acebeam, Convoy, Wurkkos, etc) but who have outstanding light properties. I've often wondered if they would hold up mounted to a rifle.....

I'm *so down* for a Wurkkos/Sofirn and Convoy test. I know a not-insignificant amount of forum members that swear by them as rifle lights, especially Convoy with the C8 and C8+ and the Sofirn SP35, and part of PFlexPro's business is re-driving and potting Convoys for tactical and WML purposes.

They did drop tests and ran them over but both survived everything till their last test when they dropped a cinder block on them. Scout died on the first one I think, but the Owl they had to resort to throwing the cinder block at over 30 times to smuch the bezzel shut and the led would still turn on. My take-away from this when deciding on a WML for my AR is that all my likely contenders (Surefire Turbo, Modlite OKW, Cloud REIN 3.0) are all more than tough enough for my intended uses. So, I can focus on functionality and performance (which you covered very well in an earlier video). For me, if the REIN had a better or standardized switch, I'd just buy it. But it doesn't, so I'm going back/forth comparing total price (including switch and mount) and functionality.

Cloud defensive sucks ass. Long story short I had a mch hc edc and mch duty. Every light flickered. It's a huge problem in their fb page group. 3 posts daily about their light flickering. Cloud kept sending out tail caps. That was just a bandaid to a bigger design flaw in their lights. 2 months later they would flicker again. Funny I was on a call clearing a house with 2 other officers. I had to stop and fart arohmd with the duty light to get it to stop flickering. Had to unscrew it take the battery out and fart around to get it to not flicker anymore. That was the last straw for me. I got all new tail caps and sold the lights off. That's whete I draw the line. Been a flashlight enthusiast for years and none of my other lights do this. Something to do with the battery not making full contact in the light there for the flicker. I believe the batteries are too short. They need to figure their crap out

I think the winner here is the customers that buy any of them. It is dark 50% of the time, and the crazies of the world are not afraid of the dark. Have a light, train with it (even if you have nowhere to live fire in the dark, you can dry fire in the dark) and be responsible. After seeming that the batteries were taking a lot of damage while even inside some of the lights, I think having an extra battery or two as backup in your kit is a good move.

Good products that I don't hesitate to run or recommend. One thing that people don't notice unless they test a ton of lights is how consistent Streamlight is across the same product. When I test multiple TLR-7 / TLR-7A / TLR-7Sub lights and they all perform very close to each other, that means Streamlight has super tight quality processes in place.
@1259bogs
@1259bogs 2 ай бұрын
You guys should have tried putting them in a melting furnace to see which light survived, because clearly your testing wasn’t to find the durability of the lights, it was to get views and test if the materials had breaking points. In no way we’re most of these things a light would endure, like even on the light’s worst day

@@brotherbrad1617 Convoy doesn’t make weapon lights. It’s true that he’s using some kind of streamlight knockoff housing, which is exactly why I’d like to see some durability testing on them. I've watched these videos from you guys for so long, and every single time, i cry myself to sleep because nobody ever brings Elzetta to the fight. Especially the models with the acrylic lenses as opposed to the newer more traditional reftector/lens combo models (HC head) ive seen some VERY impressive videos done with them in the past and own more than my fair share of elzetta flashlights. It's the only brand i trust on my 12 gauge. They simply just DONT FAIL. I wish i could show you my now retired/replaced charlie that i used as my backup hammer/daily carry for 5 years. They are the toughest flashlights made. Period. Give them a fair shake. Try and kill one. Either the alpha, bravo, charlie, or bones models. Good luck 😏.
