@Difficultcat7000 Thank you. That was the worst beating I have ever taken in my life. From then on, I wore my seat belt. The car that hit me pushed the rider's side in so far I could rest my arm on both doors at the same time. The other driver was not charged.

i am one of those few people who have had the luxury of washing a barn find, when i was 13, i was looking through the garage on my grandpa's lake property from settler times. i climbed my way past the boat to find a beautiful 1967 ford galaxie 500, it was a 2 door fastback with a cruise o'matic FX transmission and a 289 v8 engine, the outer paint was blue as the sky with a pristine vinyl interior to match. it was the car that my father drove to grade 10 and had the shit beaten out of it by a man only known as caretaker jerry. the car only had 72,860 actual miles and my dad still had the keys, i laid claim to it, we pulled it out of the garage with ratchet straps and started it for the first time since 1992. the satisfaction of washing off decades of mouse poo and dust to reveal that paint was satisfying, the years of polish my dad put on really made it glisten in the light. As of today we are still repairing it but we have gone for late day cruises, only the gas tank and the water pump need fixed, thank god that noisy valve lifter fixed itself. once this project is done, i intend to revive the other cars i found in that garage, a 1950 ford custom, a 1928 model A and an in pieces 1926 model T

The metal, door weight, sounds, rigidity, and usefulness of old vehicles are the reason I like them. We have a cutlass thats been sitting for like ever, parked in 2001 and before that never painted from factory. Literally just surface rust and its been in a field uncovered. The doors are more solid than most modern cars even still and the frame is solid too.

True. The Grandfather of a friend of mine had a 1930's Lagonda on stands in his barn. (UK) During the winter, he would place a paraffin-kerosene sump heater under it to stop it freezing. It was covered in blankets too, so I never saw anything other than the front. I'm sure he meant to work on it, but his health was failing. I lost touch decades ago. I wonder where it is now. Scrapped, or Glorious.

@Leboobs22 I think a large part of it is those old cars are deathtraps in a crash. The new ones are made with crumple zones and all that to help you live. Though I do wonder if they could just do that (the safety/crumple zones etc) with this style, that'd be pretty sweet. Not the same, but still, everything's so same-y now that you wouldn't have to do much to stick out and look 'retro'.

1950 Chevy, 1940 Plymouth 1959 Ford, 1968 Chevy, 1963,64 Plymouth, 1962 VW, 1968 Datsun, 1970 Triump. All these cars had enamel paint. The optional paint for some cars was lacquer which was hard paint, no flex, didn't expand or contract and though it had more luster it was a problem as it aged. Later is when acrylic enamel showed up.

It's not a hard top, it's a sedan ! See the door post , That makes it a sedan , A hard top have no post ! But I love the car ! When I was growing up, we had a 52 Chevy 2 door .fastback , I think it was called that ! Is same color as this car. I'm not sure what it would be called .

Easy question. None. Another thing to keep in mind is 70 years from now *nobody* will want a car from the 2020s let alone care to restore it but this one from 1950 will still be desirable

Thank you for saving that classic a lot of people don’t realize how important they are to society in history a lot of people like ruining them and doing stupid shit to them so please keep it all original because when they take away the gas, those are the only cars that they’re gonna allow to people to keep

I know it’s not the cool of a classic like that Chevy 2 door sedan but I’m doing my part by my 96 Buick Park Avenue in good running condition I’m the second owner of it and I have no plans to sell it but only to restore it not that it’s needs it as it is still in really nice shape for its age but those are my plans for it the paint is still in good condition as it was garaged by the original owner 90 percent of the time and I keep it in the garage as well only 82,000 original miles original 4T60-E 4 speed transmission and original none supercharged 3800 series 2 Buick V6 I wish it was the Ultra supercharged model but those models are hard to find in nice shape 80 percent of Park Avenues were the base model from 91 to 96 but only 18 percent of Park Avenues sold from 91 to 96 were Ultra trims and even less about 7 percent came with the sunroof option mine happens to be a fully loaded Park Avenue without the sunroof or Ultra trim not rare but it has everything but a sunroof for a base model it’s less common in my opinion it’s worth saving as it is a good reliable Buick I quite like it
