Excellent video, thanks !.... I am evaluating purchase of my new PC for professional business use and this MSI is one of my choices, which I believe will be the one I will go for. I do presentations all over the world, use the Thundebolt USB C ports, with an external adapter that connects with all PC projectors I find all over where I go in hospital conference rooms. I live on my PC, I currently use a Huawei PC Xmate i7, 13" (got used to travel and use 13", I love it), top of their line that however, since the last 3 years when I purchased it, hasn't changed much, hence my looking for a higher performance units, this seems to be the one. Several features that I wanted, are there, 32gb RAM, 13" size, 1Tb SDD, good processor, USB-C charging and Thunderbolt ports etc.. . thanks again Joseph. Ciao from Milan, Italy

Great,thorough review! I subscribed. I have the 12th gen version and it runs HOT! Without pushing the computing, it runs between 118 and 129. This is the hottest laptop I have (out of 15 that's I've owned over the years).
@JosephKim2 жыл бұрын
12th gen is much hotter than 11th gen, but I did not expect it to be that much! Are you running windows 11?
@wiseguy100172 жыл бұрын
Windows 11 Home. Most of what I do on the MSI is related to emails, news surfing, reading and writing documents. Right now, it's 118.

This appears to be last years edition of this unit as it is my understanding that this years version changed one of the ports near the camera switch and that mort is now an HDMI port (instead of what is shown in this video). Am I correct with this observation or not?

I love how thorough your video was! I’ve currently gone down the rabbit hole searching for a perfect 13-14” 2 in 1 laptop. I’m just starting my clothing brand and wanted to be able to run Photoshop/ Illustrator or possibly go back to school for graphic design. Any suggestions?

Video editing is probably the most demanding than others that you listed, and is not too difficult to accomplish. If not 4k editing frequently, this laptop will do for you. I personally use much older Dell XPS 13, 2in1.

Thanks for a detailed review. I know this video is a while ago but...Did you get 10 hours running on "Balanced" User scenario? I just got this one at huge discount simply becuase there are newer Gen12 models out already. I also downgraded to Win10 for now and probably few more months for stability. Big thanks for letting me know that I can attach the Pen magnatically elsewhere from the side. Love it! Thanks again!.

Hi Joseph . Great video! I would like to ask your advice. I’m looking for a portable laptop for Autocad work (mainly 2d), the same size or smaller than an xps15. Preferably 13-15 inches. Out of all the laptops you have tested, what would you say is the most powerful or best laptop for these criteria? Thanks again!
@JosephKim2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, Autocad isn't hard to run. I'd say it comes down to your budget and size preferrance.

@@JosephKim no worries. Appreciate the reply from someone who actually uses this software. I run everything on a 2017 xps13 with minimal issues. I’m thinking a 13 inch 11-12 Gen i7 ultrabook will do me just fine for a couple of years. Thanks again.

An IMPORTANT FYI to anyone considering purchasing this... After viewing a different disassembly video about this computer, anyone considering it should know that it appears that the memory is NOT upgradable in this (it is SOLDIERED to the motherboard). SHAME ON YOU MSI !!! In other words, 16GB (or whatever it comes with) is the MOST you can ever have with this. I am 99.9% sure that I am correct about this and that this IMPORTANT FACT was NOT mention in this video. If I am incorrect, then please let know with a reply (along with SPECiFICALLY WHY you think I am).

msi.... bad build quality, at least for this summit e13 model. Its not even well designed, eg as this video mentioned, the keyboard side does not have any rubber to protect it for tablet mode. And also the demo unit i saw also had a fingerprint sensor with placement that is not aligned to the case. And the plastic noise in the video....
