Writing off food and coffee is kinda over board that’s how you will get in trouble with the IRS. A tax write off is a business necessity. Cleaning supplies, business trips, the food you buy on the business trip, vehicle maintenance, software you use for invoices, insurance and anything else that you use of importance to run a business will be a tax write off. The food you make at your house and bring to work or the monster you buy at the gas station doesn’t count. the people working construction or a regular 9-5 aka getting paid buy someone else that’s not you. They would write it off in their taxes at the end of the year. Which we don’t because it’s not a business necessity. It’s even a gray area to write of power tools because they are a counted as a long lasting item.

I funded my business equipment and advertising with my personal checking account before getting my business checking account. I already had my EIN I just didn’t have time to get the business account yet. Will I still be able to write off this?

I can’t really say yes or no, but if you have the receipts saved, I would talk to a tax person and ask them about that. Cause you don’t event mix business money with personal money.

Just depends man, you have to understand in my eyes I’m cool with it, I always just try to give tips and advice but for the most part people don’t listen 🤦🏽‍♂️, but other detailers that may not have a lot of clients or are struggling they might feel some type of way. But honestly I wouldn’t worry about that in the beginning stage I would worry about trying to find clients and focus on finding the products you like and fit your business and your efficiency!
