A mate and I decided to compare signal responses on live targets when we were out detecting in an old gold mine area. I had the standard Minelab 11” mono connected to the gpx 6000 and my mate was using the Coiltek Goldhawk 10x5. I hope that enjoy the results of our comparison.

Great test guys, using real targets and the settings that you detect with. Using real world settings makes this one of the best coil tests I have seen on KZbin. Thanks for taking the time to do this

Thanks Wizard. My mate and I often do this type of thing and thought it would be good to actually film it. The settings we were using are what was suited to that particular day and the location we were detecting. After filming, conditions changed slightly and we were running the 10x5 in auto +. We would not have been able to run the standard coil that hot in that location.

Thank you guys for the great video, I was just blown away at how small the gold was detected with the Goldhawk especially with some depth too, impressive!

It is a great coil for this particular purpose. It really does cleanup what the other detectors have missed.

Very interesting comparison Les. Dam they were small bits. Well done on the video.

Hi Peter. This coil does find small bits. It would be a lot of fun in WA cleaning up a patch with this coil after the bigger bits have been found with another machine.

That last one sounded like it was going to go a half gram! The tiny bit before it was absolutely crazy picking it up at that depth.

Spot on Ken. You think that a good one is going to end up in the scoop but get a mouth dropping surprise to see how small the nuggets can actually be.

I just bought the 14x9, so far it seems nice and found 5 bits for 0.63g on the first outing. Gum leaves and palm trees is an interesting combo!

@@lesgold2132 It seems to match the 11” mono for small gold size

@@Andysfishing It does far better than that. A mate and I recently returned to a small, cleared area that we detected very carefully with the 11” coil. We worked the area numerous times and finally conceded that there was nothing else to be found. Went back a week ago with the 10x5 coils attached and pulled another 29 small pieces. Most of the gold was exceptionally small.

@@lesgold2132 I believe I saw that video. I wonder if the 14x9 will be almost as sensitive. I have my doubts.

@@Andysfishing It may not quite have the sensitivity but it will punch deeper and have good ground coverage. Should be quite good in open areas.

I added the 10x5 just two weeks back. The 6000 amazes me with the standard coil but this little coil took it to the next level. My smallest pieces were .03 . The detector screamed on the lil toddlers like they were big nuggets. It made it very easy to pin point and to get under shrubs . I would recommend it to any 6000 owner.

Great video les, i have the 10 x 5 on my 6k, great package. I would be very interested to see how the 6 and goldhawk compared to the 5k with the sade coil, another popular setup. Love watching your videos, great work.

Thanks Michael. I’ve been over those mounds with the 5000 using the 12x8 and also the SDC. A bunch of people have detected those areas in the past few years and have pulled a lot of the bigger pieces. This combination consistently hears the smaller chunks.

Kind of stands to reason that the smaller coil will be more sensitive on the smaller gold. Just the pure physics of it. Also with that first bit of gold you never involved the 11" ML coil again after the first try on that signal. Might have been nice for you to try it as you scraped away & got closer to the target but you just kept on at it with the coiltek. Would have been nice to see the signal the 11" got if you had of waved the bit of gold over it too once it was out.

Fair comment. It’s just hard to try to squeeze everything into one short clip. There has been a lot of testing and comparisons made well before and after that clip was made. (Including what you mentioned) As you would expect, results varied according to soil type, nugget size, depth, emi etc. There were many situations where the standard coil out performed or equaled the Coiltek coil. In the majority of cases where really small gold was being found, the small coil was outstanding.

If you are looking at a 6000, look at getting one of the aftermarket coils. The 12x7 from Nuggetfinder and the 10x5 from Coiltek are excellent coils.

Hey mate great video! You’ve got me sold on a Goldhawk. I just need to decide between the 9” and the 10x5. Just wondering if you could share your opinion between the two? Thanks
@lesgold2132
@lesgold2132 2 ай бұрын
@@blakewalker1039 Thanks mate. I use the 10x5 as it is really sensitive at the nose end of the coil. It’s good to get into tight areas like rock bars etc and that’s where I believe it has the advantage. I’ve heard good results on the9” round. You would be happy with either.

Sometimes Dave. I mainly use it on the Zed. Tend to get a bit lazy when I grab the 6 and often just use the Bluetooth headphones. I should go back to the SP01 as it does give a clear, sharp signal.
