My niece transitioned after 2 years of living as man". Went on T, had a double mastectomy, married a woman. Sadly, she ended up regretting her decision. She told me and my sister, ( her mother), that it was the worst thing she could have done. She sadly committed suicide at the young age of 25. And to think parents are allowing their minor children to make the life altering decisions and even encouraging it it totally disgusting. And no one wants to hear the bad stuff about transitioning. They just want to get on the trend train. It's the cool thing to do in school. It's so sad. RIP Rebecca. We miss you so.

Some detransitioners have said that they were threatened by the trans lobby for speaking publicly about their experience. Some also said that they had a lot of help and encouragement while they were transitioning but they were literally abandoned when they decided to detransition.

I work in a psychiatry medical group. Our practice is seeing an exponential spike in patients with transition regret. What's so frustrating and shocking is psychiatry professionals fear speaking out about this because the medical community is brainwashed by money and fear. My hope is more stories come out and brave professionals speak up regardless of their fears. We need to prevent this from happening to more people, especially children!

I’m a progressive. Just wanted to get this out of the way in case anyone thinks that only right-wingers feel the way I do. I work as a healthcare provider in psychiatry This indeed should be mandatory viewing for anyone looking to change their sex as well as parents of children who say they want to be of the opposite gender. Children cannot make such permanent decisions about their biology, their bodies. I still remember a 16 year old patient of mine who for over 2 years insisted that she felt like a boy. I lost contact with her for a while, but she returned to my practice with her boyfriend. She explained that she felt that her gender dysphoria was no more. We need to let children become adults, give them counseling to get to the root of their dysphoria.

I, too, grew up with brothers and used to run around when I was little with my shirt off because my brother did it so I figured I could as well. My mom had to explain to me that I'm a little girl and girls have to wear their shirts. I didn't understand but obeyed my mother anyway. I played with their toys and felt like whatever they could do, I could do as well. I never felt like I was a boy or wanted to be one, I just felt better hanging around with guys and being athletic. Turns out, I clean up well and am very much a female who is good at sports and I guess I was considered a tomboy. I was also born in the 60s and my parents just let me play with my brother's toys because I also played with my girl toys, too.

It is okay to change gender tho🤦‍♀️ trans people are overwhelmingly shown to be much happier after transitioning. @@mina6mina I've been in the community for decades. Compared to 5-10 years ago, when everyone came out as Trans, there's been a *HUGE* surge of de-transitioners, who AS ADULTS regret their decisions that some of their *parents* pressured them to make, or just got caught up in identity crises. Their parents accepted then as Trans, but shunned them as ANYTHING else. The saddest part of human identity is that there is no acceptance of uniqueness. We are all extremely individual. The only peace as a person for anyone that doesn’t fit into what people think we all should be like is when we embrace how each of us experiences life so uniquely as intrinsically unique. This doesn’t have to do with beliefs or with transitioning or anything else but truly loving each other for who we are as being completely one of a kind.
@chlofene

The confusion of gender starts at an early age and is something I experienced. You know you are different and just want to fit in. It is a real situation alot of people are in. You think life would be better if you were born the way your mind sees you. I struggled to be a boy and hide how I felt I was supposed to be. When I first was in drag I saw the inner me in the mirrow and felt completely natural. I got sad after awhile because I felt I was losing the real me. When I took everything off I saw me again and felt I worked really hard to a accept myself. I believe God knows our struggles and is aware He made us all different. Today I accept myself and embrace my unique self knowing I am not a mistake. I have met several trans people over the years and see their struggle but see they are just human like everyone else. I feel fortunate to be different but embrace myself as I am.

When you are young most times you feel like this. It is not necessarily due to gender dysphoria. Yes, you can look at the other gender and think it will be easier. But at the end of the day your brain remains. It is not a magic trick. My high school years were awful, I felt I cannot fit in at all. Yet when I went to uni and found people that had similar interests everything suddenly changed. Please have patience and maybe try to focus on the things you love. I'd you love drag, do it. But changing is a very difficult thing that needs a lot of consideration. I have rule in life: fixing something that is not broken might actually break it. Which is what happened with the people in this documentary

At one time, these surgeries weren't approved unless the patient had lived a certain amount of time as a transvestite, and after a time of psychological evaluation and therapy. Not anymore. Hence the rise in dissatisfaction and suicides. It's so important that those under 18 not be permitted to have such life altering surgeries.

@@laurykristensen6239 Yes I had massive dysphoria, It manifested as stress and I ignored it as long as I could. So like you know when everything is coming down on you, too much pressure, anxiety and there is nothing you can do to stop it, that is what I would relate it to when describing my stress. I ignored this for a VERY longtime and it started to manifest as physical pain. I felt like I was being electrocuted in my hand and face, my blood was cold. I can't call it depression because I didn't lose interest in my life and the things that I love. And yet, it was so excruciating, I truly questioned if I wanted to live, and almost took my life, which is what lead me to finally come out. I transitioned 3 years ago and I don't feel that stress anymore, and haven't since. I have felt small degrees of it when dealing with dysphoria with things about my body I can't control, but not on that level. I never feel like death would be easier, like I did before. I honestly don't mind answering any questions, since you did so very respectfully. :)

@@laurykristensen6239 I did have dysphoria, but it manifested as stress and anxiety, not depression. As I aged, that stress manifested into physical pain, like I was being electrocuted and I had ice in my veins, ALL the time. It made me not want to live, which lead to me finally coming out to those closest to me. Afterwards, I went through Therapy and I asked my therapist at the start if they ever worked with people that she found out wasn't trans, and she had, with multiple. I was like GOOD. I told her, "I don't care if I am a Man, a Woman or something in between. I just want to know the truth so I can FINALLY live my life and be happy." I went through the process, And I told her I was transgender and she was like, "I know, I wanted to hear you say it before we moved forward". A few months later I socially transitioned, a year after I had come out to a chose few. It was a year before I could even ASK for a consult to speak with a surgeon, which I absolutely thought about a VERY longtime before I went down that road. It was almost another year before I even got to speak to someone, and it wasn't even a surgeon. Then I had to speak with their psychiatrist, they said it could be several sessions, to determine if I was a candidate for surgery, basically, am I ACTUALLY transgender. Actually scheduling the surgery was ANOTHER year. And I never doubted it. I am so happy now, all the time. I have bad days. It's hard, because people really hate people like me right now, but never because I transitioned. And it's not a cure all for life's problems, its just takes care of that one. But, being right for once is pretty rad.

I think the most difficult, most painful part of all, for these trans people, is when, thinking they are the sex they have in mind and after the sex reassignment surgery, they realize the shock of their emotional partner, when in bed, the latter sees the "penis" the trans person has, that doesnt look like an actual male organ. I imagine it can be devastating, in terms of image, for the trans person. The disappointment, for the trans person, realizing that this isnt what you thought it would be. Future candidates should ask the surgeon concrete questions, and ask for pics before making any decision.

The insanity that is required to allow children to pursue "transitioning" and call it "affirming care" is beyond my comprehension. @@glint3924 I really don’t think anyone is born this way. There is a biological basis for homosexuality, that’s been proven, but that’s not the case for transgenderism. Every transsexual male I know of is either a gay man with internalized homophobia, autism, an eating disorder, or some combination of these, along with other mental disorders, or they are a heterosexual man with a fetish (autogynophilia). For people to be born trans, that would have to mean that everyone is born with a gender identity that either matches or doesn’t match their sex. Personally, i don’t have a gender identity, and most people i ask don’t seem to have one either.

Majority of non-heterosexuals are coming from abuse or trauma. 2% are naturally non-hetero and the numbers today dont match for previously mentioned reasons. "is it possible to go back to the way you were" you cant reverse hormonal treatment and become as you were or how you should have been, whether its the tone of your voice, your facial features or the fact that you've now cut your genitals or breasts off.

This is all male driven. The sexual proclivities and predelictions are now causing young children and especially girls to transition instead of getting proper mental health care. (Why not castrate the abusers instead if that were a case, which it often is?) Keeping a healthy body and accepting oneself is more imperitive than a medical nightmare regardless of sexuality. The government and doctors are pressing this instead of conversing. A lot has to stem with low self esteem and abuse for the ones who will attempt to de-transition and it will be too late. I know a couple trans people who haven't even done hormones and are not activists, for who they are inside. Young kids online are being so damaged by adults who do not know their situations giving bad advice to abandon their families, it is sick. Mental health care in this country is severely lacking. This cannot be the answer. You can be a tomboy or a girl who likes trucks or a boy who likes dresses and dolls. Why did it become a huge rush to medically transition without mental assessments?! Clown college.

Their should be a federal law similar to this: Everyone considering gender transition should have to attend weekly counseling sessions for THREE years, before they can take puberty blockers / transition surgery. Additionally, the patient should be screened for other mental health conditions and told about the high regret rate among “transitioners”. They should also be told that the “suicide rate” does not go down after transitioning.
