+Tom Moulton I remember when this record hit the clubs and knowing right away I wanted it in my collection..One only had to listen to hear the work that had gone into making this record..The arrangements, percussion and orchestration along with the soulful vocals had definitely been a labor of love..

+Tom Moulton Recently a friend and I went to a local club and I had a chance to speak to the DJ for a few moments and she told me how much she loved my era's music..So I told her I'd give her a $20 if she would play "Caught Up" by Inner Life. She knew the record right away and laughed and said no I can't play it the crowd wouldn't know what to do with a record like that and added the vocals alone would probably kill them..

GREAT track by one of the most underrated groups in music history. If you like to just listen to this song, I suggest you listen to the shorter version of this song, but if you want to dance then you need the Tom Moulton remix of this song which was played in the clubs for hand dancers and line dancers in DC. I for one (as a fan), am eternally grateful that you Have made me appreciate The "instrumental" versions, so much more profoundly, than what I already had a passion for. I can perceive (thru your music,) that you do it from The heart, and not to get famous nor rich from your noble calling. All Americans shud take notice and follow in your footsteps. The world wud be in a much better state, Than the one we find ourselves in. Thank you, Tom !!!!!!!!

The original "Feel the Need" by the Detroit Emeralds was a dancer's firestarter, but the Tom Moulton re-mix is a rhythmic twirl of magic, a perfect jam to "get down" to --- to work the Spin, Break Down, Rock Steady, James Brown, funky mash potato, soulful Twist, the Campbell Lock, the Pop Lock, and the Slide seamlessly all rolled into one. The only thing you won't be able do is soar --- even thought you may think you are.

Tom Moulton took the original multi-track session tapes, which were recorded in 1971 and remixed, remasterd and extended to come up with this 1977 version. I believe the strings and maybe other instruments were recorded at Sigma Sound studios in Philly--where Tom mostly worked his remixing magic at the time--and added to the 1977 remix but otherwise, everything else is original.
@ukpropaganda10 жыл бұрын
This was the first version I ever heard. This runs slightly faster than the original and so is pitched higher.
