One of the best mixes you'll ever hear on this tune from the master mixer himself from one of the finest groups of the 70's, no question for me, just brilliant.

It's obvious by his mixes from the earliest of disco to these recent Philly updates that Tom Moulton has a true love and appreciation of the beautiful orchestrated instrumental sections of R&B and disco out of Philadelphia. Even among his earliest mixes there's always nice spans of instrumental sections with all that beautiful orchestration.

Thom Bell was also one of the best writers. frankie...he not only made the Spinners a success ...he did the same for the Delfonics, Stylistics and many others.... He and Linda Creed wrote some of the very best Philly Soul classics in the early 70's!!!

since I met you I've begun to feel so strange Every time I speak your name That's funny You say that you are so helpless, too That you don't know what to do Each night I pray There will never come a day When you up and take your love away Say you feel the same way, too And I wonder what It is I feel for you (Could it be I'm falling in love) With you, baby (Could it be I'm falling in love) Woo (Could it be I'm falling in love) With you With you With you (With you) I don't need all those things That used to bring me joy You've made me such a happy boy And honey, you'll always be The only one for me Meeting you was my destiny You can be sure I will never let you down When you need me I'll be around And darling, you'll always be The only one for me Heaven made you specially (Could it be I'm falling in love) With you, baby (Could it be I'm falling in love) Woo (Could it be I'm falling in love) With you With you With you (With you) And darling, you'll always be The only one for me Heaven made you specially (Could it be I'm falling in love) With you, baby (Could it be I'm falling in love) I want to know now, baby (Could it be I'm falling in love) With you With you With you (With you) I walk around with my heart in my hands, hey I walk the street as long as I can, baby I used to sing fa fa fa fa But right now I feel so good, I sing la la la la Once you get me up, won't let me down Just let this feeling carry me on Skip the beats with my heart girl

The best dj mixer is my son James Christian. He could mix songs without never hearing it. He said I contributed t his music. Came 9/11 and everything went downhill. I know he could still do it. And my baby son Dino is also good at it. Their father had an ear for drum music and I just had a ear for music and getting into the groove of dancing to it.

I'd love to hear some of the remixes by your son, James Christian and or Dino. I tried looking on-line but nothing comes up. If they have that kind of talent, the public has a right to hear and enjoy it. Heres hoping I get a reply informing me where I can hear their work.

No it is not. The Spinners left Motown in 1972 and signed with Atlantic Records.

I normally hate remixes. I admit the semis of Be Thankful for What You Got makes nice use of part 2's vibraphone part, but this song was perfect when recorded late in 1972. It should not be touched. Sorry, just my feelings. Btw, this was from the Spinners first album AFTER they split from Motown, which never gave them anything good to record in nearly ten years. This is pure Philly, which blows Motown away every time.
@iamladeegee8032 Жыл бұрын
Erm..."Be Thankful For What You Got" wasn't recorded by The Spinners friend. William DeVaughn recorded that song, but it did have that Philly Sound.
@h.waltermorgan98279 жыл бұрын
Some of these songs by virtue of how unique they are, places them in high demand resulting in a gradual degredation of quality in sound from passing through servers satilites even atmospheriic variances to slow computer processors hard drives voltage spikes not the blackout kind but of low discernable pushes and pulls that good listeners pick up on. And yes there are tools essily available thst can restore S.Q. Even improve beyond original
@PaulMiddleton886 жыл бұрын
Tom Moulton's 'special' formula is *his* groove in the first half and the single (very little changed) in the second half. Moulton is simply taking gold dust and trying to milk it. I wish he wouldn't bother and if anyone actually wants this (I do, as it happens), Dmitri of Paris does it better. This is literally generic crap until The Detroit Spinners come in halfway through. Tom Moulton adds nothing worth having. The original single by The Detroit Spinners is better, and it's all you need.
@iamladeegee8032 Жыл бұрын
I agree. This version sounds very hollow and tinny. I like Danny Whitfields and Mike Marro's remix. It's cleaner and slowed down a bit, and it sticks to the original 45 version.
