Detroit started out bad last year. They had the best offense in football, but also the worst defense. They started out 1-6. The defense started to improve over the last 10 games of the season and the Lions ended up winning 8 of their final 10 games to finish 9-8. They finished just behind Seattle for the final Wild Card spot. They are the favorites to win the NFC North.

The Lions have been bad for many years. But last year they ended the season on fire and very dangerous. They even swept the Packers and knocked them out of the playoffs. Expectation level this year is very high for the Lions. Long season for sure!!!

No kicking is very important in the game and forces teams to be strategic and make critical decisions. Defenses have to adjust to it late in game if their team only has a 3 point lead, and offenses have to decide if they can win the game walking away with 3 points instead of 6,7, or 8 from a touchdown. This game is actually a really good example. KC elected to kick on two drives instead of going for it on 4th down on either of those drives. The Lions only scored touchdowns, and ended winning by 1 point because of that.

The lions started the year very bad last year. They started 1-6. They won 8 out of their last 10 games ending the year at 9-8

DETROIT fan: just saw this reaction. Lions last half of the season caught fire. They have a young team. Coach Campbell is one of the most interesting coachesin. If a movie producer was going to cast a football coach it would be Dan Campbell. The team overall is a run first offense with Goff as a game manager. The defense biggest weakness is its INSIDE DLINE. they have a great ouside pass rush with Hutchinson Cominsky and Houston. They got pretty much all new secondary. They are a fun team to watch

Watch HBO’s Hard Knocks from last season covering the pre-season Lions and yiu will get to know the team dynamics and the coach/GM/owner bond. Best NFL draft this year and other trades, brilliant actually. Lions have a strong fan base in the UK. Discussions of a UK based expansion team . What would we call it? Lions best for UK but it’s taken so…. I think these are good.. the UK Knights, Grenadiers, the Guards ( beefeater’s at the Tower of London) , the Dragons, the castles, ? What do you think? Bottom line this season of the NFL is GO LIONS

You've had enough comments describing my Lions' season last year, so I won't repeat the numbers, but let's just say that Detroit fans have _stayed_ fans throughout their entire time of sucking, including a 0-16 season that wasn't that long ago. Watching them catch fire in the back half of last year, beat the absolute snot out of the Packers the whole season long, and just absolutely _own_ Aaron Rodgers made everybody kind of sit up and take notice, and the offseason going how it went has only added fuel to the hope fire. And then to see them knock down the defending Superbowl champs was a heck of a drug. These Lions aren't about to take anything lyin' down.

Goff is on track to beat the record of most passes without an interception he has 359 and Aaron Rodgers had 402. Hes not flashy but hes playing his most reliable ball right now and hes kept it up over the off season. The lions started 1-6 and ended 8-2 last year. Theyve been a depressing poverty franchise for forever but it looks like the pieces are finally started to come together.

This was arguably the worst performance I've ever seen from a group of receivers. Mahomes definitely did enough to win but his receivers dropped the ball, pun absolutely intended. Kadarius Toney is probably the most hated man in Kansas City right now.

Yeah, this should’ve been a 27-17 game. I’ve seen the Chiefs get the dropsies on occasion, but never to this extent. I know Toney was rusty, having missed camp & practices, but damn, you can’t miss those as a professional WR. Especially that pick 6 ball. It was right on his hands🤦‍♂️

the lions were bad last year, however, they ended the season on a 5 game winning streak, and everyone saw them as a team on the rise. they had an amazing offseason adding really good players. what you are watching is the constant paradoy or turnover that American sports are famous for. bad teams wont be bad forever same for good teams.

Fyi, Kansas City Chiefs represent Kansas City, Missouri. I have a friend who used to live in Kansas City, Kansas and commute to work in Kansas City, Missouri. It's a quirky thing isnt it?

yeah we (chiefs) are based in kcmo because of the stadium location, but as you said the city spans both sides of the state line. I'd say the chiefs represent KC in its entirety on both sides as well as the greater KC area

Don't know it was mentioned, but it isn't Kansas..Kansas City is in Missouri, on the border of the states of Kansas and Missouri...Call them Kansas City, The Chiefs, or simply KC, but Kansas is a no-go..Every time you said "Kansas" Missourians everywhere probably wanted to jump off the nearest building..I know I did, and I'm from NY!..Lol!..Enjoy the season!

I don’t know that I’d watch football if they took out kicking. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Go watch how many huge games have been won by a point, or a big kick. I think they were possibly talking about kickoffs-at the start of the game, start if the half & after a score.

The Lions are historically awful. Since the 1950s the Lions have only won one playoff game. Yes, you read that correctly, one playoff win in nearly 70 years. But for the first time in the lives of most Lions fans, it looks like they finally have a competent and well run team. Very exciting times to be a Lions fan for literally the first time in forever

11:11 In my opinion it was a terrible decision by Goff because if he tried to run to the left he'd have run off more time and had a better shot at making the first down, but that's in hindsight. As for Campbell's call, I think he had faith in his defense either way and wanted to try to end the game early, but... I am not too happy with that either, to be honest. But I thought he was trying to be definitive.
