Always love you humility and your willingness to say "Oh wow I missed that one" or "Ah, my calculation was a little off". It makes someone who is around 1200 happy to know that little things do still go wrong for the big players. Thank you for this series you're amazing for doing this!

Me too! Nelsi was set on cashing in on trapping pieces, explaining how f6 is dodgy and forgot to look for a better candidate move. At 12:52 when "K hunting" he also missed the Bxd6 Kxd6 Qb8# he found on his next move. It's a problem with these 10m no increment games, fear of losing on time in a winning endgame stops analysis of likely tactical possibilities.

I'm really enjoying this series and learning a lot. This is the best rating climb series I've seen recently. The small changes as you increase elo are fascinating.

You mentioned Levy’s openings. I swear that dude plays openings like a 2700 and then shits is pants and forgets how the pieces move when he gets nervous in the middle game.
@arrowofkira565810 ай бұрын
a6 is a great idea! It reminds me of all the queen traps when you have a poisoned pawn on g2 and b2 or mirrored on g7 and b7 and you push the flankpawn one square first so when they take the poisoned pawn and you attack the queen she can't dodge the attack by moving to the square where you pushed the flankpawn since the file is no longer blocked off by your own pawn. She can just get taken by the rook

In many ways I find this speedrun more educational than something from Levi or even Naroditsky because the tactics are easier to see and wr get to see actual blunders that could cost the game, but also seeing that not everyone will identify such blunders. Nice work it's great learning from this channel!

Nelson, you're basically the only chess content creator I still watch, and thanks to your teaching I beat a 2200 lichess blitz rated player (equivalent to about 2100 chesscom blitz)! He berserked so technically not "completely" fair, but 5min vs 2.5 odds is good enough for me. I was technically losing for most of the game, but I played a very nice bishop sacrifice and because they didn't play the only move that kept advantage, I got a winning position (they played second best move, went to -1 from +4), forcing them to burn all their time to defend against a brutal attack, and then I just flagged them. I could even have won "fairly" if I spotted a rook infiltration (I would literally have won their queen), but I was also running short on time and saw playing for a flag is probably the safer option because I didn't spot that move. Thank you so much for these!
@mariuszpudzianowski840010 ай бұрын
Nah, people berserker on their own risk, he judged that he can win with half the time but he was wrong. You beat him fair and square and he knows that.

11:21 Why couldn't black play E5, blocking the attack on the bishop, and attacking the bishop at the same time, leaving the knight and the bishop hanging, if white takes takes the rook, they take the bishop, and that knight is getting won, being trapped, and black gets a bishop and a knight for a rook and 1 pawn?
