Thanks for posting. The take away for me is that now is a great time to buy books that were somewhat out of reach during the pandemic where prices were inflated beyond any true reasonable level. Now that things are getting back to more realistic valuations, it's time to go shopping. I remember buying 10 copies of Thor #337 from a Heritage auction with buyers premium and shipping for less than $20. I also sold my one beautiful copy of West Coast Avengers #45 on eBay some time around 2018. I posted it as a no reserve absolute auction at .99 cents and that was what it sold for! You can never time the market and books are worth only what someone is willing to pay at any given time. I'm happy to see the hobby is still going strong but speculation is crazy. I mean Biker Mice from Mars? Please. Still, people will enjoy what they will so best to all and Make Mine Marvel...uh, Silver age that is.

It's gotta be tough on folks who make a living buying and selling books and I really feel for them. But as a collector I love the fact that books that were out of reach for me a few years ago are finally within my budget. Hopefully there will be a rebound soon but not before I pick up some childhood dream issues.

I love this content. Would like to see what's happened value-wise with some key Silver Age books over the past two years as well. In general, I'm fascinated by the dealer side of comics, as it must be hard to know when to buy and when to hold when the market's so volatile and the future of comic collecting is rather uncertain. When all the older collectors start heading for that great dollar bin in the sky, and their collections flood the market, will there be enough demand for the supply to keep the prices up? In fact, what exactly will drive the comic market in ten or twenty years, especially if the movies continue to falter? A very interesting business, and one I really enjoy following. Thank you for your videos.

Market Correction. After decades of paying exuberant prices brought about by emotional buyers using eBay as the true market value of comics. Similar to when the new Ford Bronco was released in 2020. Dealerships were marking up the Broncos as high as an additional $35,000 to $40,000. When the customer tried to collect on his car's value after an accident or resell the car, the insurance company, dealerships, banks or potential buyer would offer them only Kelly Blue Book value. As with comics the only true value is represented by Overstreet Comic Guide, no other sources but them.

Slabs ain't looking too good anymore. How do we know it wasn't swapped out? There's a huge scam problem with slabbed books. You really don't know what you're buying.
@futurepastvintagecollectables10 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t call it a huge problem, nor is it as impactful as the amount of under the table restoration that was happening in the 70s through the 90s. CGC was a blessing then and still is. These books in the scam are all pretty much catchable to the naked eye sans the MJ switches.
