I really love that sound you get with palm muted thumb and unmuted two fingers. And I agree that using thumb for E string for fast runs makes it easier. I used to have a mental block about using the thumb this way; I felt it was almost cheating to use anything other than my two fingers. Also agree about disco octave technique at 7:55, MUCH easier. (Sometimes I use my index finger for the bottom and my second and third fingers for the top.)

Marcus uses thumb for walking basslines most of the time......Noticed the "Seven Days" line when Sting was mentioned. A few tips on 'Seven Days ' would be greatly appreciated btw.....thanks .
