These changes are so exciting. I hope we get new tile sets. Especially a glass one for greenhouse buildings since a Victorian/Edwardian inspired game without a means to build a worlds fair crystal palace is criminal. Plus puts all the glass we have to use. Also color variants would be nice

- I LOVE the new crafting change, a lot easier to get the stats we want. Simple and yet allows us to create a variety of options. Looooove this. - Love the new enemies! Mortar looks scary. Love the bombardier changes. The cloud was annoying because stalled progress. - YES! New ranged options!!! Throwing knives is interesting. Blunderbuss always fun. - Can we do double throwing knives? Double pistols? - Love the sickle actually does something interesting for combat. I want a sickle build BADLY. No ammo and medium range, yes please. - Glad you removed stamina efficiency, definitely was confusion. I stacked both and just hoped it was for the best. - Glad elemental resistance is one stat. It was too much before. Glad strength is just gone though didn't dislike it... was just confusing because I would always prio crit. - Appreciate transparency on build limit. I made my base out of 4x 300 block sections and I LOVE my base. - THANK YOU FOR BEING SO TRANSPARENT AND GENUINE AND AWESOME AS A GAME DEVELOPMENT COMPANY!!!!!!!!!

I fail to understand how anybody could be confused as to what 'stamina efficiency' means. For most things, yeah, it's a useless stat. But what about things like the umbrella or climbing picks? For those items which did have those stats on them, is it going to be replaced with an actual stamina bonus or is it just going to be missing a stat? I went out of my way to craft very efficient versions of both of those items, having them nerfed because some people fail at language comprehension seems unfair. All in all though, this seems like a great update with tons of good things in it, I'm looking forward to trying it out.

The challenge of balancing stats in a simple game I found very challenging in my own small projects. How hard that is in such a complex game as Nightingale I can only imagine. Keep up the good work!

Noone is going to use it, sure it's cool they added it but noone is going to use it over the double barrel. It will be useless unless you just started when the patch drops, then you could find someone to make you a better gun so ultimately pointless

"Listen to the fans", such a great concept. The crafting changes are in particular are awesome, especially stat stacking to a limited degree. I used different materials simply to make my weapons look different and have certain stats I wanted them to have regardless of it being powerful or not. The whole concept of the character being a blank slate, and by changing out your gear you become different means one character can be built for ranged/melee/short/long range/etc just by changing your clothing and weapons is a blast, having a dresser full of clothing isn't just cosmetic, it MEANS something. I judge games by how much fun I have doing basically nothing, can I enjoy fishing, or farming, building and modifying my base instead of just mindlessly beating mobs up and Nightingale has proven to be great fun indeed. 331 hours so far, and I've built a family of characters who each have their own Estates and playstyles. Coming home after Realmwalking for hours, making a Beef Wellie or Sashimi and fishing to restock my larder while dinner is cooking is just relaxing. My only real "beef" is with Chat, it's not very useful or easy right now, playing with my friend it was simpler for us to just talk on the phone rather than trying to type everything in a slightly clunky interface. For "solo" players a more useful Follower interface would be huge, allow ranged weapons and the ability to toggle on/off harvesting, set distance and aggressiveness, allow them to use healing items on themselves and us. Pets being useful in combat and exploration would be nice as well, taming a wolf and having it fetch items for us or alert us to enemies nearby, etc. Overall, this game reminds me a lot of Conan Exiles, but with a Victorian flare and the ability to travel to many worlds instead of just one static map. Great job so far, you guys have an amazing concept here, keep innovating and make this game something special!

Changes look good. I'll definitely be firing it up again and testing things out. Also want to say I like the candidness in talking about bug fixes, juggling priorities. Too many studios just say "we hear you, we're on it" and call it a day. The light technical details re: build limit and offline mode are helpful to better understand the larger picture. Steph seems more comfortable in front of the camera too; nice improvement. :) Keep up the great work Inflexion!

Wow, just wow. I am enjoying the hell out of this game. I am an "elder gamer" 45 years of age. The artwork, Pucks voice acting, immersion, sound production, and the overall quality just floors me and I am in love. Keep up the fantastic work and thank you so much with all you do with limited resources. It's taken me 100+ hours just to get to The Watch. Enjoying the exploration and combat too much to make progress.

Honestly the off line mode should be super low priority. Improving the game in all other areas and new content are much more important.

I wish I could agree with you, I have lost SO MUCH(200+ hours)(items, followers, full chest inventory's...)nah, get us offline with quick saves so I can control saves. I have crafted entire items, just to log out that night and items not be there when I log back in(crafting ingredients gone and the item for a total loss), I have teleported to an area- go back home -entire chest contents wipe... this is all due to online. I love the idea for online, but forced hurts sometimes. Unless you are in absolute love with this game, it will likely make people quit, never to return. All of those problems are especially true when you get close to the build limit of a realm. problems exacerbate rapidly then. Problem is at the endgame grind, you need a ton of items and stations to progress, forcing the limits. Offline is required for this kind of game.

I loved your game for 300 hours.. The building limit and the lack of variaty of weapons and enemies was a issue for me.. The building limits was bad but the more items i had in chests the more my building take time to load in, most of the time was 20 seconds waiting for my building (foundations, walls and roofs to load completly, leaving all the other items flowting in air. Having a weight limit and inventory limit was other issue for me. Why both? Why not only 75 inventory space and no carryweight or just leave the carryweight and no limit of inventory! I still love nightingale but the last time i played was a moth ago, because i had so many Early game in my Library that are there for more them 5 years and none is complete, what made me lost the fate on some develepors. You were and still are one of the best Devs out there! Always helpfull and hearing the community, and whit that, made me still be here sharing my toughts whit Devs that still have the passion of making great games like Nightingale. I want your game to be my new Building game. I trully am! Not comparing your game to others! But i still play Conan Exiles whit all the DLC's whit 600 hours or Fallout 4 whit more them 2300 hours trying to rebuild a clean commonthwealth (running more then 150 building mods) or even Rust whit more them 3500 hours on PVE building large community bases. What i wanted to say whit this is what i want is your game to one of them, One of my top 5 Building games but the limits just hold back the game for me.. Like the 2600 hours of Fallout 76 did.. The limit just ruin the experience for me on Crafting and Building games. But for now its like Starfield.. Waiting for the game to be great. Wishing all the health and luck to Inflexion team!

I love this update on the current state of things and what's to come. I'm interested in seeing how bringing back the stat stacking on tools and weapons will work out. I do know that some players who took advantage of it weren't any fun to play with in the online vaults, being able to fight the boss and other enemies is what the vault is all about. Maybe some players enjoyed doing no work but i think a majority of us enjoyed it because battling the enemies is what makes things fun! All in all, I'm excited for what's coming. Thanks for listening to your player base- you guys are incredible.

@@beast0290 It did? As far as I know the major issues there were existed at launch. And they quickly responded to the players' complaints. If they lost their player base so quickly I wouldn't see those particular players playing any game for a prolonged period of time. It's early access for a reason. Its the literal terms of early access games on steam.

The biggest issue with crafting I've had, was the augmentation. I have to move things away from the table in order to make some items that have been "kicked" from the table because there wasn't enough augmentation slots for the bench.

First-off, Thank you for making NIghtingale, LOVE the game, over 200 hours so far... This is EXACTLY what you needed for the current players and future purchases of Nightingale. Seriously, it is awesome to get this kind of update. THANK YOU, now if we can only get a bug forum on steam, this is for us. I/all of us would LOVE to see a forum so I know when an issue has been reported. If I am having the same issue, a simple upvote and comment would add my input rather than uploading it to the void and praying someone see's it(not to mention often times if there is a solution, it is found in the bug forums...). Even if it is not your intention, it makes gamers feel like our problems don't matter.

I’ve played since the beginning.I never "cheated” making OP weapons and such.I like the changes. I’m glad I took my time with this game and didn’t just grind right through it and get bored because the updates make it great for me and my play style.All I want is more furniture rugs tapestries, couches, chairs, and such to furnish your house. I know it’s low on the priority list.

I'm excited for this! I hope the rollback estate bug and the "duping" survivors bug. One of us playing together had 4 going at once, wandering around their base, with no clue as to why LOL. Fun times. Sometimes the bugs are fun, but others, like the fact Quibbles keeps getting herself stuck halfway across the map whenever she tries to return to her respite, aren't.

Sounds great, especially the new enemy types, but to be honest, I was hoping to hear something about an improvement of the Augmentation system, specifically the maximum number per workstation tier as well as the naming of the buffs / augments. Right now, it's intransparent, tedious and annoying to figure out what is active, maybe out of range, or beyond the maximum limit. Not to mention that it's tedious that possible crafts only show up if a required Augmentation is active and it has to be looked up in the game guide if not. On top it prevents usage of these items as decorations because they can always interfere. And, in my opinion, there is no real reason to do so, because unlocking the tiers auf workstations, augmentations and therefore craftable items and workstation bonuses should be enough of a limit, if properly balanced / designed. So right now, this specific aspect of building / crafting only has downsides and pretty much no upsides. Hope that gets looked at with the next patch then.

The entire augment system needs to go or be completely overhauled imo. In its current state it offers nothing meaningful to the game at all, it is just complexity for the sake of complexity rather than actually creating depth. So you are just left with a confusing, unclear and frustrating system that does nothing positive for the overall game, it only has negatives. Completely agree that there is enough to do to get that recipe and be able to craft it without this nonsense system blocking you from it even after you've done everything else to get it. Imo the system should either be removed completely and the augments just become decorative items, or they are all labelled as "decor" items which all give the same "decorated" buff to any station, in the same way light sources provide the "well lit" buff.

This crafting update has me so hyped. I was definitely disappointed by the changes that had been made to nerf the stat stacking. While I agree with the need for game balance, it really felt like the "creativity" of crafting had been wiped out. This new balance sounds like a great step in the right direction. I'm gonna start a new playthrough as soon a 0.2 drops.

Since the new bound is going to have a shield, can we look forward to eventually having a shield to use ourselves? My husband would love to have a shield to use, of course a sword would be awesome to have as well. Love the progress of the game, both me and my husband enjoy playing through the realms. Looking forward to the updates!

This sounds great. I am looking forward to see a normal limit count at work, it will help a lot. It will mean I can get my garden back, that I slowly disasembled in order to make chests and augments, as my game evolved.

I just want more build limit in the pieces because I'm trying to make a giant Pagoda set look like it's straight out of feudal Japan. Complete with courtyards, gardens, training areas and long hallways and rooms with beautiful oriental decor. I just love the building style and graphics in this game so much ;-; I'd rather just spend my time building all the time.

I would love to see more content per realm. So far it feels like every realm is barely populated, small & not much in them to do. I hope there will be much more content going forward. As is I've already gotten as far as I can in the game and only been playing for around 2 hours a night since the game was "released". I'm hopeful for the future.

I still think the crafting SHOULD allow you to say add 3 pieces each with hide for a better hide stat, but if the issue is stacking it too much, then you should just nerf how much an individual piece gives of that stat.

I was INSANELY hyped for a launch-day purchase. Internet connection requirement shoved it to back burner, and I still haven’t hit the Buy button (I _rarely_ have a data connection, and much less so a stable or high speed connection). The *second* offline mode goes live, I’ll pull the trigger.

Improvements and quality of life adjustments are on the way. I am really enjoying this game. Currently I play it alone and I am still digging the vibes. The constant awareness required, the neverending thinking that must continue for maximum results, I truly enjoy being tested to the maximum of my mental capabilities. I love Minecraft but you can only do 10k hours before every new world essentially looks like another world you've visited. New problems are no longer new. Just old problems in updated clothing. Nightengale does present some similar boundaries as Minecraft however it has freed itself from the annoying aspect of the repeatable loop game play. Each new world does not make you "new" at all. You do not have to repeat beginning game yet again, and again, and again. You are not new though the world you are going to might very well be new, to you. Now there is a level of repetition involved however it is in the minor details. As an example: Most houses use a consistent paint color to tie all the rooms together. Different room, different use, different furniture, and can seem like different colors. However within the highlights is that consistent overall theme tying all the rooms together into a unified whole creating a singular experience. Heck even the climb from the game levels is fun. I enjoyed beginning game and once I started into mid game I am thrilled. I do not want to start end game as of yet as I enjoy the learning and personal development acquired from the climb to those higher levels of gameplay. So if your mind is like my mind, needing such mental stimulation like it is running on a treadmill for your recreation and stress relief, get into this game. This truly is the kind of mental stimulation healthy and rewarding, even for a traumatic brain injury survivor like me.

@@jessemiller3108 Sadly I'm finding that a few game reviewers are fairly off key about what they've touched. They've touched something in a state we used to call beta. So there are many things in flux. Things that are great today may suck tomorrow and vice versa. Comparing this to other Early Access games is partaking of a marketing shell game that we've all seen for too much of to be honest. I am not a reviewer, I am just a combat veteran who has survived brain injury. I have been a life long gamer as well and my tastes probably is not like yours on many things. Buuuut, for a fair review you don't just send one person and publish. You send several and gather a consensus. This is not a country of one voice and while I personally have a deep investment in my military service.... I was just one of many thousands of soldiers. Nightengale does deserve a good voice raised not just in it's defense, but raised upon high in it's praise. And your response confirms that once again I am not just one voice in positive about Nightengale.

Removing the range stat is going to piss off people who like playing a sniper unless they keep the ability to extend it on the gear via crating mats and enhancements.

Perfect. I was legit just wondering yesterday how the game was coming along. Building a house as a solo felt an arduous task. I appreciate the process being made cheaper. Now, I'm very happy you made proximity crafting, but why such an insultingly low radius? If I heard correctly, it's only 3 foundations??

Ok, I was intensely disappointed with the weird mmo-lite structure of this game at launch, the change of the UI and the removal of hope as a survival meter, those factors still stand. But I am very impressed with the thoughtfulness and creativity of these gameplay and systems changes. Well done.

Hopefully now it wont be insanely expensive just to make some tudor housing half of the current cost wouldve been balanced. I see no reason to turn building pretty houses into suuuch a matt grind there's plenty of other things Id rather be doing, like actually BUILDING the house. Very excited about these changes, dagger parry looks satisfying to pull off.

I love this game, the atmosphere is really incredible, keep working hard it's great, I'd like the weapons to give an impression of impact when you hit body to body, of course more monsters with different bosses, even more exploration and different puzzle games and dungeons! Fighting !

so overall happy wish the building was more of a priority over offline mode but that my take so fair is fair glad the counting bug is geting a fix fell like the number jump up by 50 at radem and mess up so bad what i want to do so cant wait to get back to the game in this upcome patch thank you for your hard work

showing our email during the bug report process is a huge breach that needs to be removed a username would be fine. but it allows anyone to collect that data and send us whatever

Love it. I have tried other building games and I'm just not into them. I prefer doing the small amount of content here over and over

All I know is with a weapon [i think it was an exploited one early on] it would do 7-10k damage per hit. However most mobs were still taking 15+ hits to kill so a very boring fight. This is also one reason I moved on to a different game for a bit waiting for updates. I got high hopes for this games crafting :P

I love the game, but after updating it today and playing it a bit, I'm a bit confused for some things. The restoration spell isn't working any longer for me. I have it on my pickax, but it's now saying that I don't have enough stamina to cast it. On that note, my stamina, which I worked hard to get to last as long as it does, has now gone to pieces and I can only do things in rapid succession for maybe 5-10 seconds. I seriously love this game and the changes are amazing, but it seems like some of the good options from before have taken a bit of a hit.

It must be said that the launch of offline mode is too slow. Players can no longer stand the server problems and the waiting time for each portal. More players are lost because of the inability to stack minerals. What the hell is that designer saying?

Ok I love the idea of kunai or throwing knives, but do we get them back after killing the enemies? Cuz otherwise it'll be a huge resource sink to continuously craft them.
