This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my KZbin channel 2 months ago about self development. Now I have 155 subs and almost 75 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.

@@dothao4003 Whoever you are, I don't know you personally but I can say that you're one of the non-judgmental and open-minded people who is not fixated on tangible or external factors in order to learn from someone like me. Just because someone doesn't have a piece of paper as a credential, doesn't mean that person is not entitled to share personal experiences with the hope & intention to inspire others. Keep up with whatever it is that you're doing to improve mankind or improving your life even to a slight degree each day. This is just one part of a bigger puzzle for creating my KZbin channel about holistic health. I literally could have died back when I was 14 years old due to major depression but here I am right now replying to you, a KZbinr, who's full of fulfillment and dedication to help others to be a better version of themselves. I ain't better than anyone else but my old self. That's all that really makes this KZbin thing more meaningful and enjoyable. Thanks so much for your support! I am hoping that you can join me with this endless personal development journey! :)

@@dothao4003 Thank you! Implementing the lessons I learned throughout the years of lots of trials and errors changed my life trajectory and learning that there’s a yin and yang in everything or proton and electron in an atom because opposites attract, which means a night won’t exist without a day because they’re codependent and that’s just the nature of life. I wouldn’t have appreciated the power of kindness if someone was not cruel to me. I wouldn’t have realized the importance of growth if I didn’t see myself stagnating. I wouldn’t have appreciated the importance of health if I didn’t get sick. I wouldn’t have realized the importance of real love if I haven’t witnessed my parents’ relationship slowly fall apart. I wouldn’t have appreciated the importance of mindful money consumption if I wasn’t broke. I wouldn’t have appreciated the growth of my KZbin channel if I didn’t start at 0.

The video talks about the power of curiosity and the worries of doubt. It does this through the the illustration of seeds. It tells you of your mindset and which one to have. Having a fixed mindset makes you give easy and you’ll end up like the fearful seed. If you have a growth mindset, however, you help yourself realize that mistakes and failures help you become your best self, like the brave seed. You should always try to have a growth mindset but never shoot for perfection, because that does exist. (I hate online school)

Lovely animation, thanks ! I'd just like to add that we are born with a growth mindset, and we develop a fixed one from our environment. We can't just choose to switch to growth one, we have to heal traumas that created our fixed mindset.

This video resonates with me in quite a few ways with that 1st being that I have been both seeds at 1 point in my life. I spent probably the 1st 21 years being the negative seed that feared everything and the last 10 rebuilding my mindset into the positive seed with also really the last year locking in and honing in on priorities and an optimistic mindset. Perception really is everything and I can't make up the fact that things are going right in my life now that I'm looking at things clearly through the right lens. Lifting weights is my Passion and I learned that failure means gmeans growth and that holds true for every aspect of life.

Great metaphor for a great distinction. One of the things I've noticed though is people tend to think of Growth vs Fixed as a personality trait, but my experience is most people have a Growth mindset about some things and a fixed mindset about others.

while I understand the message, I feel like it can also hurt others. We are not all the same seed, starting with the exact same conditions and capabilities, genetics does actually play a part in it. For example, something I've had to learn for myself is that fat loss is just something that not everyone can do easily. for some of my relatives, they seem to never be able to pack on weight no matter how much they eat, for me however, its incredibly easy to just become a marshmallow. What I've learned is to accept that this isn't a failing of me, but just a byproduct of my genetics. I came from a family of 17-18th century german farmers who had to survive the long winter with little to no food. Packing weight was essential for them. what this means for me, however, is that I'll basically never have a supermodel body without severely starving myself. It is ok to accept that some things just aren't capable with your genetics, its better to realise what work will allow you to accomplish and aim your goals to correlate with that knowledge.

we think it is important to have an 80% growth to 20% mixed. That mixed stops you rushing into things and help you calculate dangers, which is a good thing. Being aware of problems is great, as then your growth pops along to help challenge you to overcome them. :-)

This video literally changed my life. I was put in prison for murder, but I watched this video on the TVs in the lunch room, and I instantly excelled to a higher level of understanding. My muscles instantly grew to twice their size, and now I can bench 1000 pounds. I grew to 6'2 overnight. The guards observed this and decided to let me out of prison, thinking I was some sort of god.

I disagree on the fact that this kind of mindset is just freely choosable. Sure, you can tell yourself these things, but if you suffer from anxiety or have had incredibly negative experiences when trying and failing, even lovey-dovey postiive self talk doesn't solve the issue that caused the fixed mindset in the first place. Funnily enough, you need a growth mindset to escape the fixed mindset. A logical and psychological conundrum.
