If a shell going something like 800-900m/s can't penetrate the ship. why a plane ( I'll take MVR attack plane here as an example ) that do 109m/s can penetrate the thickest part anyway. Like if it has to contain massive kinetic energy it has to have very enormous mass ( to which impossible for a plane to carry ) to compensate for lower speed

In order for a plane dropped munition to have the same penetration capability of let say Hindenburg shell that are significantly faster the bomb need to be massive as the bomb can go as fast as the plane without any booster to make it go faster. For that the bomb need to be 9 tonnes to match the Hindenburg AP shell in term of penetration

Flamu, those cylinder bombs were only used against dams. Skip bombing against ships was done using normal bombs, mainly by Russians. Of course they wouldn't have 600mm penetration.

B-25s in the pacific during WW2 used skip bombing with conventional bombs on japanese shipping with great success. then again, the ships targeted were mostly lightly armored

In physics class it was tught that the kinetic energy formular is like E=1/2mv^2 . The MVR plane can do 109m/s at max speed ( the munition will not go faster than a plane itself unless some booster apply like rocket ). I'll take the Hindenburg AP shell that going at 925m/s weighting at 122kg. To have the same kinetic energy to penetrate something that Hindenburg could it would be like 1/2*122*925^2 for Hindenburg = 1/2*m*109^2 for MVR plane. The result for mass of the bomb would be around 8786kg. A very massive weight for s plane needed to take off from a short runway in a middle of the ocean. Now remember that Hindenburg has the worst penetration for any heavy cruiser in the game at T10, and skip bomb lose a lot of energy each skip

To be fair, Skip Bombs are normal bombs, the bouncing bomb (the barrel) is specifically designed to hit a dam. But AP skip bombs are still immensely stupid because they wouldn't have the speed to pen anything. If I wanted to make a weird Japanese bomb I'd take inspiration from their diving shells and give them a chance to cause flooding on a near miss or something (though that would be better for Germany and their bombentorpedoes, but that would require creativity/extra coding)

Playing last night was a painful reminder that sub ping markers are no where near where they're actually located and by obvious WG design, purposely out of depth charge range. It's actually worse than before the supposed sub nerfs which only changed the effective shotgunning range from 2km to 3km. Even a half potato brained U-4051 player can spend the entire match spamming torps while doing the spinning in circles move.

What's funny is that Archerfish actually DID have an engine boost, the drive shafts of the diesel engines were routed through the generators for the electric engines, which meant you could charge the batteries if the submarine using the rotation of magnets connected to the drive shafts. Alternatively, you could run the all engines at the same time, giving the sub a speed boost. The trade off being that the batteries would stop recharging, though they wouldn't deplete either. No imagine if the batteries are already at 100%...

Skip bombing was actually used by american pilots against japanese naval vessels to quite good effect, enough so that Tameichi Hara wrote in his book about an encounter he had with them that nearly destroyed his ship. The cylindrical bombs are dam busters, as far as i know the skip bombing employed in the pacific and other actual naval action were using normal bombs with the only requirement being they needed a “hemispherical nose”, which all american bombs had anyway. So the only historical inaccuracy is giving it to japan who aren’t ever recorded as using the technique

You can skip bombs without them being barrels, the Plane flys at full speed and low enough to cause the bomb to skip across the water but the fuse needs to be long enough that the plane isn’t caught by the shrapnel,

Sorry Flamu but the 'skip bombers' created but never used by the RAF were armour piercing they smashed right through HMS Malaya's (ex QE BB) armour plate in tests. It was really really scary. Unfortunately by time they were ready there were no naval targets to use them on. The only other Skip bombers were the US B25's in the pacific as they found it easier to use skip bombing.

Now the reason why Shinano got Torps and sunk is due to unfinished of installation of water tight doors. Her torpedo protection still the same as Yamato but her flooding protection is the worse than a Cruiser. They should make Shinano have high Torpedo Protection as Yamato but Flooding will does to her quadruple the damage.

Being fair, US used skip bombing technics with normal bombs (instead of the cylinder bomb) in the pacific war. It's used by level-bombers against transports and destroyers around south-east Asia, since they won't be able to hit them otherwise. That being said I lost it at the Archerfish's parametres, that's some fucking alien technology right there. You sure US didn't capture someone from Cybertron in wows universe?

Should be a sub with 105k health, with heals, that can spew out 20 torps at a time with 5mins underwater at a travel speed of 50 knots surface and 40knots underwater with a 200meter turn8ng circle, not using ping but radar lock

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't skip bombing performed with conventional bombs in the Pacific? The idea being that you can attack at higher speeds and therefore more safely, while having a better shot at a waterline hit? Obviously, it wasn't armor piercing bombs, because that would be absurdly stupid. You're not only hitting the toughest part of the ship, but you're also sacrificing the impact velocity of your bomb, wasting its efficiency.

You are massively overestimating how good the Pan-American DDs guns will be (though it still seems like itll be a contender for top torp boat). The reload takes nearly twice as long as every other t10 DD with 2x2 gun arrangement while being the smallest caliber, not exactly a winning combination. While it has reasonable range, its exactly middle of the pack for destroyers and I dont think average range combined with bad guns suddenly makes them decent.
