yeah for some reason they pulled out the DT from Sparda in the US and EU versions of the game back then. if i recall its because Capcom devs where salty about EU and US journalists that said that the game was too easy for the most part and that once you got the Sparda it was even more easy and you could breeze through the ending... So they upped the brutality and difficulty of some of the fights in the early game and took out the Sparda DT...

It would be great seeing Sparda with his own set of fighting styles and weapons. Agreed with the bosses, I think they would definitely show those who remember Sparda such as Phantom, Griffon, Berial and the 2 you mentioned. You know they should've added a special feature the super Dante mode were The Sparda sword has Devil Trigger and you can upgrade its powers. That would be a real treat. Having unlimited Devil Trigger was pretty badass but I think it would have been better with the sparda sword

I like the original too. But they wanted see an American Developer tackle it with an angle less with a Fantasy/Gothic twist. Some of the ideas were pretty good with the reboot... but the overall depth, story, climax of it.... it fell so fucking short of the original. I was even more disappointed by the Boss fight w/ Mundus. The original fight was better and more exciting. ON another note...... that sword is BAD ASS!!!

TmoDDD Sparda was created in the Underworld, which means it used Demonic Energy to create it. But later on, Dante taps into Sparda's power and is able to use DT, making him extremely powerful like his father. Which is why he is seen in the scene of Sparda in which a ghost of his father appears around him

Sparda was repeatedly stated throughout the series to have possessed power on par with a God, even greater power than Mundus himself...I f you could use DT with the Sparda sword (Essentially using sparda's power) it would be ridiculously overpowered. You use DT later in the boss battle with Mundus. cool trivia where if you try to equip a lesser weapon Dante tells himself that he wouldn't stand a chance against Mundus without his fathers sword.

If you use it in Dante Must Die mode it really shines as even without devil trigger it still deals nice damage! But I know what you mean, with Alastor you can run and fly around really quickly :)

Also i wanted to ask, all the poeple hating on DmC, did actually play the game? because yes there is somethings that made me cringe, but overall the game is good, nice pack of action, superbe decors, just like DMC1,3 and 4(2 was a bit too bland), kick ass cutscenes( ONE of the major Features of any DMC game), a nice and paced storytelling( at least better then DMC1 and 2), and even though people will disagree in droves the last Dante isn't that bad and is much more in line of lets say DMC3 then the one we has in DMC2. The only things that are really different and that are to me cringe worhty. 1; physical stature, all the Dantes where had a large muscular physical figure, just like an athelet, the last one is much more skinny. 2; The "Nephilim" thing, while i'll admit it injects a bit of novelty and a new dimension to the characters, i can understand why some people are miffed about that, but in the long run, it doesn't make much differences. 3;No Devil Arms, while its true that throughout the game you get new forms of weapons, they are just different shapes and functions of your own powers, unlike previous games where it was weapons containing the essence of a demon, wich in the case of DMC3 gave really nice cutscenes and interactions, so i think its a shame that the last game was devoided of Devil arms. So yeah i enjoyed the last DmC for what it was, its a nice DMC game, and i wish that Ninja Theory make a new installement of the game, and that this time they correct the few errors they had and do better, it will also be a good occasion to expand on the story of Sparda, because while in all the toehrs games Sparda was simply dead or off the radar, in the last one, we have an idea of what happened to him, he is Banished, meaning that we could investigate him or interact with him in a possible futur game, wich would be awesome. So stop been little bitches and whine like a sucktard, and be thabkfull, it could have ended much worse then that believe me, like a certain Duke Nukem or so...

Mugthraka Mugthraka People hate it mostly because of the developers. I would be kinda beside myself as well with it saying like, "well it's a devil may cry game but it's not THAT good. Don't really like the direction they went." And there would be goods and bads and that would be that. The reason people are so absolutely livid is because the political bullsh!t behind it. Ninja Theory technically worked on the game, but in the end it was a lazy project which was mostly done by Capcom in the first place, then Tameem put his face on Dante, making statements along the lines of, "Well the old Dante was cool, but THIS Dante is much cooler." So naturally, fans look at this Dante, say, "Well that's not Dante. WTF is going on?" You know, like people do for reboots. And as soon as people started asking questions and criticizing him especially on the looks of the character, Tameem got all butthurt and said, "Fuck you. This is MY Dante, and he.'a way cooler!" And because of that immaturity this whole situation turned into a sh!tstorm. Every time someone would make actual criticisms of the game or even anything remotely negative about the game they were silenced and bullied, with Capcom even resorting to silencing whole chatrooms. And don't get me started on the rumors of Capcom hiring trolls in the comment section of videos. And you know what Tameem called anyone who wrote negatively to him? He called these, "death threats" I'm sorry, but if I called you a faggot or any other derogatory term does that make it a death threat? No i'm just mean. And is there a difference between me calling you a "faggot" and me saying something like, "Well I don't like where you're coming from and I think you should think about it like this..." ? According to Ninja Theory there's no difference. But no, all we were talking about was the hair right? Not the fact that Dante's personality is different or the game runs at 30fps or any other criticism. And then there was Ninja Theory going back and forth saying it was a reboot, no now it's a prequel. Then the game came out, and all the suddenly Dante's personality is changed to match the older Dante. So in the end Tameem changed the character and didn't even see it through! And it shows on the character model too. You see that weird smile that Dante does during the lap dance scene? Yeah, don't tell me that doesn't look unnatural. But you know what, we got the white hair at the end right? And that forgives EVERYTHING, right? No, no it doesn't. But that doesn't matter anyway because a towel magically flies onto Dante's head anyway, with Dante saying "not in a million years." Hmmmm salty much? I know I am! The final product shows dumbed down gameplay, abysmal characters, a very weak story, but at least it has enhanced graphics. This game has changed so much, why even call it Devil May Cry? The point of a reboot is to change something to scrape an idea and go a different, usually better direction with it, not make a fanfiction. The only reason they called it Devil May Cry was to get attention to it. And while the production time was horrendous for what we got (those graphics tho) Kamiya the original director of DMC, leaves and makes a game that's arguable better in every aspect in half the time: Bayonetta. What's THEIR excuse? At least Duke Nukem was true to the original and didn't purposefully alienate their original fans. Look, I know I'm ranting, so obviously I have not kept my bias in check, but the points I made do not remain untrue either! Of course DmC is a decent game but it's not Devil May Cry standards so it's natural to compare it to DMC as DMC fans are meant to play it right? In which case why even call it a DMC at all if it's a reboot and brings almost nothing new to the table besides a redone story and some new moves? And even if it wasn't called DmC it would still be compared to DMC because that's what type of game it is. As to why it's decent, I personally thought the Bob barbass boss fight was entertaining, the chakrams were a creative addition, and the development of Vergil having a Doppleganger style was a nice addition. And a lot like dmc2 did, we were able to recycle concepts of that game and incorporate it into the next one, like with Vergil in DMC4SE. And that's another thing, DMC2 received criticisms just like DmC and that was more of a reboot to DMC than DmC was to the entire franchise. The combat was different with the addition of a new devil trigger system and characters to play as. And the combat was dumbed down albeit different, the characters were abysmal and it had a very weak story. The difference here is Capcom, by themselves with no future technology and time and budgets, put on their big boy pants and just made another game. So in conclusion, I agree with most of your points in your comment, but I feel that most people truly at the core hated the developers and what the game stood for, rather than the game itself. Does that make sense? So yeah, I would like to see a good reboot of DMC, like what you bring up, but without all this useless drama. You feel me, man? Let's just have a game that we can play and discuss over without feeling a bag of dicks being run over by a truck full of lard and semen. That's what I feel this whole ordeal with Ninja Theiry and Capcom is like: just painful and ultimately pointless. I appreciate the different opinion.

we always here how Sparda did this, and Sparda did that... what the hell, why not make something like it. You'd have to change everything, no guns of course, but lots of new kickass sparda moves, lots of magic, and who knows how many different enemies and stuff... could show unique characters he ran into, like beowulf from 3, and boloverk from 2. How he met dante's mom, missions in the demon world and human world. The options are endless.

Sparda did used guns, Luce and Ombra, the ones Trish uses actually, so they can keep a mildly similar playstyle to Dante but also maybe combine it with Vergil's because he would have all three Rebellion, DS Sparda and Yamato, though maybe he wouldn't use Rebellion so it stays a secret for basically everyone (because no one, not even demons or the Order of the Sword, except Dante and Vergil seems to know about Rebellion or even get it's attention caught by it)
