He hopped up on stage with my band a few times in Nashville. I got to trade solos with him (I’m a guitar player). I felt like such a child playing all my cliche blues licks, lol. What a freaking monster player.

what's the point of a temperament tuning layout if you are playing in a band with other instruments not using this tuning system? Seems like you'd all need to be on the same system or there'll be problems. Probably better to just get yourself a fretless bass, then you can adjust any way you want as you are playing.

The first is introduction to all of the parts, second is basics of how to play and then 3rd is some beginner bass lines to try. After that you just go for what interests you.

So, it's C-E-G-B up (on the staff but down on the Bass) and then C B A G F E D C? The D-F-A-C up (on the staff but down on the Bass) and then C B A G F E D C, again? The scale going down is specifically the same through the arpeggio unless the mode is changed? So, Maj-Min-Min-Maj-Maj-Min-Dim arpeggios (w/ Ionian (going up)) Min-Min-Maj-Maj-Min-Dim-Maj arpeggio (w/ Dorian (going up)) Min-Maj-Maj-Min-Dim-Maj-Min arpeggio (w/ Phyrgian (going up))... and so on... C-E-G-B-CMAJ7 and back four notes A-G-F-E, next arpeggio DMIN7 D-F-A-C and back B-A-G-F. next EMIN7 etc..

@@Mateusz.lewandowski Hello! Thank you for reply, so basically, the remaining notes of the unused scales are being played?
@Mateusz.lewandowski6 жыл бұрын
whole exercise is in one key, in this example C, so.. you use only CDEFGABC. Every arpeggio is in key of C but starts with next tone and back by C scale.
@AbhiBass966 жыл бұрын
Mateusz Lewandowski what about Harmonic minor? A C E G# going down (on the bass) and going up it would be A F D B?

play this scale, remember notes ABCDEFG# and use the same pattern. Arpeggio ACEG# and back by scale so FEDC, next BDFA and back G#FED, next arpeggio from C etc...

@@noseyparker6622 It wasn't my intention to disrespect, but I think you assumption is very reducctionist; you simply can't take out all the work Hendrik and other great bass players have done for the instrument, neither the whole tradition of jazz and fusion, and hours and hours of rehearsal and look for impriving yourself, saying that it's just math. In fact, I don't see maths if you say "describe it only with a word"... Also, if you want, we could be more precise and define what "Rock and Roll" is, and then we can assert if there is'nt rock and roll here (I don't think it) but the roots and the same tradition are here.
