I have to admit (especially in the cold winter, this is Chicago), I have falling asleep a fair number of times during the homily . . . Waking up early in the morning, going straight to Church, the cold winter air of lake effect Chicago blowing as you're getting to the door, yeah, one hasn't have my breakfast yet, listening to the homily, which if told in a mono-like tone can feel like a class lecture, yeah, one's low energy isn't gonna hold on together very long . . . To me, Macaulay is better as Kevin than Daniel was as Harry Potter in the first two movies. I mean, little Macaulay had to carry this whole movie on his 8 year old shoulders. And he was fantastic

It's so sweet that John Candy and Macaulay were reunited in this after Uncle Buck. Even though they didn't share a scene together, close enough. The funeral story by Candy was completely improvised, which makes it even more hilarious, rest in peace.. Marv's spider death scream is legit. He really had arachnophobia. The greatest crime committed in this movie is certainly... that Kevin didn't even get to eat his highly nutritious Macaroni and Cheese..He is most known for this but also great in other films. "The Good Son" and "My Girl" I highly recommend. It's truly not Christmas without this movie 🎄

try stepping on an upside-down sharp metal/plastic golfing tee, hidden/cameflaged in the grass backyard... went right through the entire foot... did it as a little kid, and also, my mom or aunt (can't remember now), did it too (not the same day/time, though, lol)... somehow, for both of us, it missed all of the bones... and went "clean"-through both of our feet... also, maybe for one of us (as can't remember which)... it happened twice (probably not through the entire foot, but just in terms of stepping on an upside-down golf tee)... hard to remember now, as it's been so long ago... barely remember anything as a kid --------- ya, the food on the phone, it always was there, some notice it immediately, some never do... it can go either way, just depends on the person and etc watching it... in what you're focusing on... laughs

Fun facts: Fuller, the cousin with glasses that wets the bed is Macaulay Culkins little brother. Marvs scream couldn't be done because it would freak out the spider so he did it silent and the sound was added later. He was terrified of the spider and did it in one take 😂

Maybe if the parents would do something about how his older siblings (especially Buzz) treat him they wouldn't have so many problems with Kevin. All Kevin sees as an 8 year old is his parents siding with the siblings who mistreat him all the time. Besides where do you think Kevin picked up the attitude and mouth from?

We can thank John Hughes for writing three of the greatest Christmas movies ever in Home Alone 1 and 2, and Christmas Vacation. I love Kevin as a character. Hes willful. Most adults like you want absolute control over kids. But youre not going to inspire a child to become something great if they constantly want to appease authorities. Kids need to learn early that authorities... even our parents can be bad. In this case, not only are Kevins parents completely negligent, they refuse to punish the biggest bully in the family. The parents will let Buzz get away with anything. But they will take everything out on Kevin. Of course the boy is going to grow up angry and willful. We cant grow and become better parents if we dont listen to our kids, treat them as the tiny human beings that they are. All human beings deserve our respect. I mean, Kevin wouldnt have the imagination, brains or the guts to take on Harry and Marv like he does if he blindly followed orders like parents require.

I never could believe that there are kids that could/can get away with speaking to their parents this way. I wouldn’t have even dared. I remember rolling my eyes once and my mom caught me. I’m surprised I didn’t die on the spot with just the look she gave me. But as a kid, I loved this movie. More of the fact that he set all the traps to catch the bad guys. I always had that kind of dream. Saving my family from villains and being a heroine 🦸‍♀️ Lol. Ah. To be a kid 😁

PLEEEASE - react to Home Alone 2 Lost in New York - you'll love it, as well! I don't find any trap funnnier than the other, but my favorites are - Feather (dressed like a chicken - for Harry, and for Marv? The nail to the foot or the stepping on ornaments. I dunno, as I watch more of this guys “reactions” they’re getting more and more rehearsed and over exaggerated. It’s kinda taking away from the authenticity of it being a genuine reaction when you can tell it’s either fake or way too much of an overreaction. Also noticing he’s too worried about saying something as much as possible and talking over way too much of important parts of movies. Not picking on this video in particular because he said he’s seen the movie “a long time ago” but from when I first started watching his channel a while ago to now, he definitely seems to be more rehearsed, acting and overreacting vs genuinely reacting to the movies now. Also seems more focused on being goofy vs actually paying attention to the substance of the movies. I’ve been noticing a lot more things going unnoticed, jokes being missed, that kind of stuff. Devin, I’m not trying to be a hater, I’m just trying to put my two cents in. Do what you want with it.
