Yes when Devon is allowed to open the arm up a bit of the opponent and get into that solid kings move even levan couldn't budge him in that practice pull. But in the real match we seen Devon get in a very similar position and levan switched to a flop press. Incredible play by levan. Ermes would have to do the same. But as you can see when Devon doesn't get into position and ermes stays tight and close Devon at this current weight can't hold ermes. But ermes let him get into position twice and you cant do that with Devon. Awesome pull. Ermes is really strong. Devon needs to gain weight again
@johnnybravo8255Ай бұрын
In fact, I'm starting to suspect that he's faking it a lot or over-exaggerating his tremors or how much strength he exerts. I say this, because in official matches, he is never seen so burned. Even with his son Auden, it is seen that he is not doing his full strength, the actor Devon.

Devon is the most giving puller at the elite level. He gave tips to Ermes after their last match which helped Ermes improve against tall pullers (like Vitaly & himself). He also gave Denis & Levan the Legacy Hammers (although sadly Denis has selfishly not passed it on). And he also helped Levan get stem cell treatment in the US. On top of that, he's done training sessions to help Brian Shaw. No other puller does so much to help other athletes in the sport.
@young8200Ай бұрын

This is why Devon emphasized a lot of his training on the pronation lift, because it carries over to match situations. Train like you are in a match. People always try to tell him to train his full body, biceps, etc., but a man with 30 years of experience knows exactly how to train for arm wrestling EFFICIENTLY. Once he gets into his pronated open-arm toproll position, no one can pin him unless you are Levan.

Now that I've seen the entire video, this practice looks very similar to Devon vs Levan in EvW13 in the parking lot, simply fascinating, Devon's pronation nullifies Ermes' cup causing him to not be able to access his power, I'm not saying anything that we don't know But I remember it and it continues to impress me. That said, it's good that Engin and the athletes allow us to observe this practice knowing that the community is often quick to draw very subjective and controversial conclusions. Taking this into account I am even more grateful to see this practice.
@AgelessPerformanceTrainingАй бұрын
Yes, Devon hand is elite. That's why the best way to beat him is with a flop like Genadi did.
@eddie0FllАй бұрын
You're analysis is partial. You can see Ermes adjusting the grip by raising the elbow and taking a deeper grip to match Devon's height and hand size. This is what was missing during their match in August 2023. As long as Ermes pronator isn't compromise Ermes can use his full power. Rewatch Ermes vs Devon. You can see that Ermes pronator was getting eated right from the start. Rewatch Ermes vs Vitaly. You can see that Ermes pronation was still there every time that Ermes got a stop. In this specific situation Ermes could have pushed to take center and transition to a flop wrist press. And it would have meant a pin. He didn't do that because he didn't want to injure himself and/or Devon.

@elemental3066Ай бұрын
its the reach and the pronator on top, it can neutralize a whole lot of power
@BrunoAE86Ай бұрын
His pronation is the key. As long as he avoids the attacker getting on top they can't load on his bicep alone....If the attacker applies too much side pressure too soon, they'll lose their hand and Devon gets the edge. Many matches showed this trend/strategy from Devon.
@charlesrob3969Ай бұрын
Devon is very technical. Devon may not be the strongest guy but he is definitely strong enough to hold his own and make it difficult for guys that are stronger than him. His strength is from his techniques and positioning it seems like and seeing what his opponent gives him. He's very smart on the table like he's playing a chess match while the others try and rely on their strength.

You know whats funny. At 1:00 Devon gets into a very similar position in back pressure like Denis does. Denis just doesnt fight in the setup for height and webbing which is and will be his weakness until he can correct it
@MajinFajitaАй бұрын
Yes when he fights outside at the start but unlike denis he likes to switch to inside once he gains center and it not only gives his outside a break but is almost like he is fresh again because he is using a different muscle at that point. Denis keeps using the same muscles and is getting fatigued quickly if the opponent is strong enough to eventually overpower him.
