Just finished the job. There are several things he does not tell you that are important. First the O ring on the table that another person commented the second is the plastic piece you replace in the regulator knob. If you have it screwed out too far and reassemble the component will not properly align and get damaged. You should twist the regulator such that new component is flush before reassembling. Happened to me. I cleaned and reused the old piece with all good.

Where does the large O-ring go? The one that was still on the bench in front of the compressor when you where done assembling the regulator at 4:05 and gone at 4:06.

Lol I had it leftover too. Put everything back together without it and it worked fine. Oh well
@harrymorant51242 жыл бұрын
It should have been installed into the aluminum threaded hole just prior to screwing the regulator knob onto the assembly, at 3:42.

actually used my same parts. Just removed, cleaned, lubricated and whalla!

I did just that, and it did not work. Looks like it will have to be a new kit.

You can just remove the aluminum manifold, go to Lowes and use 1/2 steel pipe and fittings along with a new regulator and using the old gauges and it is fixed for LOT less that the cost of this kit in the video.

You can do it Even Cheaper, by Replacing just the O-Rings!😂

You left out one of the O rings in your video, it's sitting on the counter at 4:02 and then gone at 4:05...
@David-zv2em5 жыл бұрын
where should the big O ring be?
@number69904 жыл бұрын
I think it goes into the bottom of the “base” that’s attached to the manifold that the regulator body screws into. I have a picture but no way to attach it to the post.
@PatrickKaplo4 жыл бұрын
@@number6990 Agreed. I found the old one in the manifold that the regulator screws in and out of. I pulled it out, lubed the new one, and put it in.

I wish you would have filmed how you drain the air. I can’t see where it’s at and if I’m doing it properly. Please help me. Sorry, I’m brand spankin new at this.

There's a valve at the bottom of the tank angled backwards a bit. Turn it very slowly (ccw) Counter Clock Wise, until the air escapes. Do not open it all the way until the pressure is down to around 60psi. Sometimes water build up will block the opening and stop the air from fully escaping, in this case, while the valve is open, plug in the compressor and pressure will build up and blow out the water. You should always drain the tank after wash day of use.

I have one that fails to kick off after it builds 225 pounds like its supposed to and it just keeps building pressure this is the second Dewalt that I have had this problem with the last one I threw aside but this one is less than a year old and its doing it now as well any ideas on what needs fixed or replaced ...

I received a regulator repair kit for my DeWalt D55155 air compressor and need to know how to "assemble it"...….I took the old regulator apart weeks ago and forgot how it came apart. I'm retired (74). Do you have any Diagram of how it gets put together? Really need assistance here. Thank You

Did you ever hear back?

It's a T35, or Torx 35.

I tried to buy gaskets at the hardware store to repair and it still leaked because they have to be the exact same gasket made only by dewalt. Then I noticed the leak was mainly coming from a hole dewalt placed in the regulator. After pluging the hole there's a very small leak but it holds pressure now. Also you don't need to take apart the whole compressor for this repair, just unscrew the regulator. I'd say this is a huge fail by dewalt because this compressor is only a few years old and obviously designed to be broken and only repaired with dewalt parts. If you haven't already bought this compressor look into other options

You need a new diaphragm.

Why does my regulator build too much pressure?... The gauge shows 200 PSI
@TSPhotoAtlanta5 жыл бұрын
Wondering why you didn’t use a screwgun for all of the screws? Easy to set the drag to about 6 or so and finish with the wrench...at least you filmed all of the screw turning, in case, uh, not sure why actually, haha
@markypolo553 жыл бұрын
LOL. I know what you are saying. I do that myself, sometimes I think it is the masochist in me to endure all that pain! Too lazy to get the screw gun out and hunt down that torx bit.

I pulled the manifold off mine,because the regulator broke. I thought I'd just buy a new manifold. The whole manifold was like 298.00. I decided to just rebuild. Lol
