No, they can be disgusted and even angry which are emotions. It’s just that they lack empathy or an understanding of how or when they should be. Like now he is disgusted because he wouldn’t eat his victims, it’s not just a major violation of the code to kill innocents and eat them but he also thinks it’s a vile act beneath him. When he sees a crime scene and it’s a dismembered body or seriously mutilated corpse he isn’t disgusted but intrigued because he sees it as art, no one bats an eye because all the homicide officers have seen some shit and they think that if Dexter too.

I mean even if you are cooking a cannibal soup i think throwing a whole finger in is a bit ridiculous, like if you're making a chicken soup and throw in whole buffalo wings, just a bit too boney wouldn't be too easy to eat...
