First comment. Long live our freedom fighters, long live our prisoners political or otherwise and power to all those who lost lives in the struggle. As we are supported we show support to our brothers and sisters in freedom struggles globally and we will not stop until our autonomy is fully realized. Ase

I could listen to Dhoruba spitting bars ALL DAY, and I understand JAB thought D was talking about him, which would make D wrong, but D is 💯right about academia in general 🙌🏽❤

And I know a few others; Derethia Duval ( retired SFState) ; Akinyele Umoja ( Georgia State) ; Kathleen Vkeaver ( Emory University) retired; and some in office whose identities shall remain anonymous. Many platforms. We can and do operate on many platforms. Mi gente, Wagad who could be more abstract than you in your brilliant critical thinking and delivery BUT certainly action is supreme. Careful now, action minus the study, the critical analysis of end stage capitalism and historical materialism and even careful study of recent events will get people killed! We’ve seen this. Lotta folks flying under a false flag. It’s the deeply analytical and watchful that can unmask them. Let’s go!

BPM has helped my politics tremendously; however, i do agree that a lot of the conversations are too abstract or too far removed from our present reality. Though I'm not sure exactly what has to be done.
@0_P.E. Жыл бұрын
One of the main things that drew me to BPM is that they usually don’t engage the abstract stuff. It took me forever to find a black channel that doesn’t primarily engage in that.

I almost tapped out at the 35:00 minute mark with the internal miscommunication. But I'm glad I didn't! Dhoruba should hold no holds barred seminars. Call them shiiieeets, The Education You Wish You Had but it's never too late!!

Always great to hear from DBW I just respectfully disagree that pro capitalism ppl like Floyd would even bother reading MOBBP bcuz they've made a career not pushing for our liberation. They would rather repeat the oppressive behavior bcuz they feel it benefits them. Black celebs tell on themselves when being dismissive of Dr Balls research tho that would b most of them. Karen Hunter another one of many.

That's bc Dr Ball is a mature and evolved (hu)man being who operates in good faith. He actually seeks discourse with opposing perspectives in order reach a higher level synthesis. Dr Ball is a role model of a scholar who is a people's scholar functioning effectively inside and outside academic spaces. The fact is, for my money, when DBW is on with Dr Ball, it is the most revolutionary and insightful space available in any media setting. The reason Dhoruba is so marginalized across the media spectrum is NOT because he is wrong. It's the opposite. His critical thinking and the authenticity of his presentation are formidable and valid. That's why he is marginalized. Even his enemies respect him. That says a lot.

The origins of that black comprador class actually, goes back to the black slave traders, in Africa, and slave drivers and patrollers in the American slave labor camps.. That class was only modified and reconfigured in the 1970s.

I’m with DBW on this one. It felt abstract indeed. I didn’t know who Finklestein or Kendi was before all of this and still don’t know tbh until you brought them up Dr. Ball and I’m still not quite sure why I should know who they are, given what seems like your strong disagreements with them and their takes. 🤷🏾♂️ It was a 🔥 conversation nonetheless, always with Dhoruba! ✊🏾✌🏾

A working definition of fascism is needed. "Democratic fascism" is still nebulous. My definition of fascism is the melding of group power and state power usually to the detriment of other groups. I acknowledge corporate fascism. I acknowledge ethnic and religious fascism. There is even class fascism. Democrat is not a group.
