I’ve been t1d for 26 years and nobody has ever explained this to me!! Thank you so Much!!! My settings on my pump were off… no surprise there. Where did the standard 1700 & 500 come from?

I'm in nurse practitioner school and this was better than the lectures. Sometimes professionals have been at it so long they forget to discuss the basics and explain what it's even needed. Like of course a correction dose before a meal is a good idea because you're gonna eat these carbs and still be high if you just do your typical meal time bolus. I had to Google so much so figure out what was being corrected, why and when it would be applied and I found this video! ❤

Are we sure about ISF... because insulin sensitivity is different for everyone and can't be derived by standard numbers...I mean we must put in formula how body is reacting to insulin.. example 50 units of insulin may not bring down sugars to same level in two different ppl..
@lexi_20214 жыл бұрын
I take 10 units of insulin a day which means my ISF is 170?

Isf is 1700/TID or 1500/TID?
@Diabesties1 Жыл бұрын
It depends on which insulin you are using. If you are on Human insulin means Actrapid / Insulin R/ Regular Insulin, it is 1500/TDD and if you are on analogue insulin like NovoRapid / Apidra / Humalog / Fiasp, it is 1700/TDD.
