This is a good example of why i love diablo. They are so many possibilities. I am a treasure hunter. I have dedicated my time on diablo on finding the most godly items possible. Recently found a 2 sorc skill 2 os 20 fcr all res STR life and dex!!!! I love this game

So I just "finished" my Gold Find Barb and I went a little different route that you did. I was finding that the Reaper + Wealth setup on the Merc was actually causing some issues with killing (and also, the merc is kind of dumb as it tends to focus Ismail Vilehand when he's Stone Skin). I decided to go with an Eth Gladiator's Bane to protect the Merc even further from Hydra Damage, which seems to be very helpful. Also went from Reaper's Toll to eBOTD Great Poleaxe that I got at a great discount. The biggest change is that I started using Gavel of Pain to really speed up the process and that has been the most effective weapon swap for me. I'll be making some YT Content but for sure will give you a shoutout, Cooley! /e Forgot to add, 2346% Gold Find on the body, but atm just +82% from the Merc (I will find a better Eth CoT and Lem it when the time comes)

Sounds amazing! Ismail is a beotch. I've considered swapping to ebotd War Pike and just skipping him. A teleport amulet really helps the merc focus, too. That and trying to leap-away Mr. Vilehand.

I use a Frenzy build using Eth BotD Colossus and Last Wish Phase then use Dual Lem'd Ali-Baba on switch. It's kind of nice because I can Hell Trav/Pindle/Shenk/Eld and not really have to worry about getting r/d. That belt is sick though, never thought about looking for something like that before.

Nowadays I just play a little 1.07 in SP, but I played 1.09 on the bnet a lot and probably somewhere between 5-7 seasons at various times between 1.10 and 1.13 (with a lot of breaks in between like many). Had a gold find Barb pretty much every season that I played. Like your build, love the rares and the Circlet is pretty awesome too. Personally I prefer a WW Barb though (Dual Grief or Oath if on a budget), first of all I prefer the more active play style over waiting for the mercenary to kill stuff and it's also faster. Of course you end up with less gold find, but with the higher kill speed the amount of gold/time should be very similar (I admit this is more of a hunch than me having actually measured it). Plus more kills means you get more charms/jeweis/gems/(h)runes, so even a slightly lower amount of gold/time is more than worth it to me. I don't remember whether HF aura results in corpses shattering, but I believe it does occasionally. So does the cold damage from Ravenfrost on a WW Barb of course, so no disadvantage there (WW could put a Cham in the helmet). If I were to do something like your build I think I'd take a mercenary with Might over HF and then just use War Cry more if the lack of HF results in mercenary survivability problems. Last but not least I would definitely use the cube and put if on the left side of the inventory (even if you don't use a cube it's more efficient having your empty inventory slots on the left side instead of the right side). You can put the torch over/under the cube and them also maybe a tome.

Some very good points. I had actually just converted this barb into a GF barb and forgot to buy a Hell (or normal) Act2 Offensive merc with Might. That's 100% the correct thing to do! People have also experimented with GF Cold Sorcs for the exact reasons you mentioned. It's unfortunate that there's not really any other efficient places where gold drops so prolifically as it does in Travincal. So some people do make hybrid MF/GF builds in order to get more in-game time. Thanks for the feedback, man!

​@@Coooley Gold Sorc can work, from an efficiency point of view nothing beats find item in my mind though, it's just too strong. While it's fun to build the most efficient character possible for what you want to accomplish I can see why some people choose the Cold Sorc. And yes you can play with the GF vs MF vs killspeed balance, I've done the WW Trav build with a little more MF focus as well on occasion.

I always craft safety boots for my goldfind barbarian. Fire Resist + (5-10)% Magic Damage Reduced By (1-2) Damage Reduced By (1-4) all of the base craft mods for safety boots are useful so all you need is a 70+ goldfind roll and some frw which is a lot easier than some other crafts (looking at you, caster amulets) you also have the possibility of rolling gg magic find boots with stacked fire res. great for sorcs with spirit.

I use spellsteel on switch instead of bo sticks you get the teleport and decrepify so my merc can use botd just a little annoying repairing but the faster runs make up for it. Also a good gold find caster ammy helps get an extra breakpoint. I personally use tgods because the only thing that gives me problems is lightning enchants

I love Goldfind barbarians but i prefer Goldfind+Zerk Hybrid (This build also very good for running on Pindleskin/Shenk/Overseer i'm used only 1 lemmed crystal sword and Grief in another hand). Also about items i don't like Reaper's Toll because he have cold damage this not good for goldfinder. I'm used rare amulet with 2 warcries, tele charges, gold, res++. For me this build is very good alternative for guys who tired from sorceress.

Breath of the dying war pike kills way faster for immune you can have weapon on switch for AMP or Decrepify procs if needed for the last bady standing.

Infernos are a fine option. The max fire res isn't a huge deal whereas we have absorb from Dwarfs.

This would be a nice convenience for gambling as well as pooling gold to alt characters. Useful for ladder but for sp i wouldnt think it would be viable since gold and drops can’t xfer.

there is just no way that enigma is not the right choice here, the teleport and move speed it gives will make your runs twice as fast while only lowering your gold find by a minuscule amount Also it gives you mana on damage taken since i saw you struggling with mana so much

With as much as it costs to gamble certain items, and how fast you can acquire gold (what is it, 4-5 runs to max inv and stash? lol), I wish they had increased how much you can store. I would vastly prefer to save up a hundred mil and then gamble for like an hour or 2, rather than having to switch between the two every handful of runs. Also, curious if you have ever managed to gamble a unique anything -- I play SP with plugy on 1.13d, and I am becoming convinced it is literally not possible. Theoretically, you should expect to come across one in around the same time as you would find 2 set items, iirc. However, since starting playing again a few months back, I have gambled 15 different set items so far, and have not yet seen a single unique. I wish I had some way of reporting the actual stats of how many items and the breakdowns, etc, mostly boots, gloves, circs, rings, ammys, and occasionally helms and armors with sets I am looking for, but definitely many, many thousands of items, and as I said, 15 separate set finds, a handful of GG rares, but not a single unique lol. Definitely curious to know how others are fairing in that regard!

It can, but it doesn't happen very often if you're using the right merc (Hell Offensive). In my video, I had recently rebuilt that barb from a dueler to a GF barb and still had the Holy Freeze aura on him. But without that, the decrepify aura proc outweighs the small chance of shattering the monster, imo

Blizzard sorc is just 10% less efficient but 2 times cheaper than this barb

Yes, Sorcs can't hold as much GF (about 10% less), but they also can't hork corpses, which adds about another -33% efficiency. Their speed is actually a liability on battle.net, because you'll get realm downs by flying through games too quickly. Not sure if it's really any cheaper to build, though. Requires many of the same items.
