a tier is gear based on you characters lvl range, as you increase in level more and more items will become available these new upgrades are in essence higher tiers, which means, more stats, chance of much higher stat values. and improved armor rating.

If you plan highmare and hell, you'll be level 60 somewhere in hell difficiulty, perfectly on time to prepare getting ready for inferno. Playing highmare ( and especially hell ) will take quite a lot more time.

there is one armor tier per act and difficulty setting. Act 1 normal is tier 1. Act 4 Inferno is tier 16. You can always get loot that is under the current tier but never over in a given act.

So what exactly are the tier items? Are they rares? What drops them? Although the tier 7 barb set looks rather similar to what i have, I just made it into hell and haven't seen anything that could be apart of a set, with the exception of the 5 sets that have achievements, which i've seen on the AH.

Yea they all drop in game, you want item lvl 60-63 gears mainly. Also look into crafting items like gloves & amulets.

Love the game but on my list of things to improve: 1) very high hw requirements (I keep all graphics settings to minimum and I still struggle) 2) the item stats seem too random - you get trash rare items on a regular basis, i.e. barbarian only items with intellect. I understand blizzard are planning to change that a bit, so at least partially my 2nd concern will be addressed.

if you know hax, you could easily do it in Singelplayer if it uses your singelplayer Data for your character in the multiplayer mode :)

i agreee with you bro, i like the game... but i found theres not many choices especially with skills. where as in d2 you had to actually build a character to make them good... i also miss the stats aspect of the game

If there was a reason for that, it would be this : Those armors are make from the hides and scales of high powerfull demons which got that kind of color schemes and materials. Since demon are resistant to their own powers, wearing their skin and material made out of their body would be something more efficient.

I don't know if you are trolling or not, but I'll give an answer none the less. the "tier" referred to here is the same as item level in game. Tier 16 is ilvl 63, tier 15 is ilvl 62 etc. There are 4 tiers from each of the 4 difficulties. That's it.

Yea at lvl 30 you should be in the nightmare difficulty. I do not recall any quests items really, most of the cooler stuff does not drop until inferno difficulty. so in other words you will be 60 before finding some of the cooler barb items. at 60 you end up farming inferno for hours for items. I found act 1 and act 3 in inferno are the most rewarding to farm.

Actually my father plays Diablo 3 and he's been playing Diablo since the first one came out. He would definitly agree it's very different from what he expected, but he still gets a lot of enjoyment out of it. I'd also like to say Blizzard makes both WoW and Diablo (obviously), so the fact that things have similar designs or even look the same doesn't really surprise me.

the tier 16 wud be Archon armor at 60 u can buy the plan from the chest piece from the littler girl in act 2 but the rest u need to find when farming inferno by getting plans to learn how to make them plus ur blacksmithing needs to be lvl 10

Thats a fair enough gripe to make, they tried something new with d3 in terms of storytelling, and while some of it ended up being good (like lachdannan's scrolls in a1) a lot of it just ended up beating you over the head (belial/asmodan/diablo with their constant chatter).

I'm guessing tier armor is mostly based on level, since I imagine the higher the tier the more the stats and thus level requirement to use them. Let me know if it's that simple, because I have obtained some of these looks with progressing armor drops through the games difficulties. Each time just upgrading to the better stats for my level.

Tiers are nothing like WoW tiers, and they aren't even really tiers, they're just matching sets. Higher tier drops from higher acts on harder difficulties, but no act has specifically one tier. For example, tier 14 is mainly act 2 Inferno gear, but it will drop off of high end act 1 and low end act 2 bosses and mobs. Set bonuses are only on legendary sets. Hope this helped clear up some confusion.

True, if this game was NOT named after DIABLO, then I would say its fine. But the obvious fact that this game is built around the AH makes a lot of people upset. We all understand that this is a loot game, and it is precisely why there are so many negative feedback coming from players. With the extremely low drop rates for rare items, not a lot of fortunate players are able to do inferno smoothly.

I assume there is a variety of armors to choose from among each tier? Maybe that's why in some cases it didn't seem much like a linear progression. Overall they look pretty cool though. Lots of Asian influences etc. I can't wait to play the game.
