IIRC, angels aren't reborn but instead new angels spawn from this celestial arch up in the High Heavens.

Its mainly the war is eternal but the hells are actively learning from the war and changing the end goals and way to win by cheating and corrupting them and forever bounding them so they cant come back. Why both sides want humans to join their ranks or be killed off so the other side cant use em.

Even before Diablo 1, Diablo himself sprung a trap on the Angiris Council by goading Imperius into disobeying a direct order, proving that the High Heavens are in fact, not united at all.

Could someone explain why Heaven closing its gate is relevant for life in Sanctuary at all? Unless I'm mistaken, the High Heavens have been unaware of Sanctuary for a long time and for the rest decided not to get involved. Tyrael being the notable and only exception.

simple answer: there is no reason as far as I can see it. As they explain it, religion doesn't work anymore because of this, which would indicate, that the angels are actually answering prayers which is one: weird and two: that is not how religion works. they are creating conflict where there is none to justify their setting. Neither the high heavens closing their doors nor the hells being sealed (for example) would have any impact on anything in sanctuary.

Also weren't the gates destroyed and corrupted during the events of d3? Would that dictate the high heavens a war zone with the angels having to seek shelter in sanctuary.

Why would Heaven shutting their gates effect Sanctuary at all? They didn't really help humanity much before. In fact, they teetered on the edge of annihilating humanity for a while. Other than Tyrael, who seemed to do equal parts good and bad for humanity, the Angels didn't do much prayer answering prior to the gates being closed. Am I missing something here?

I swear the devs don't even understand the story they're creating anymore... Guy talks like humans give any shit about the heavens. like they "all" pray to them.... That's Our world not Diablo's. Sure some people chose the light, but other chose the darkness, and still more didn't choose at all. Heaven closed it's gates on us oh no..... The heavens were never freely open to mortals. The angels largely despise humanity because they're half demon, and are scared of what they're capable of... Humanity is more like a child that's caught in the middle of parents brutal often violent conflict, and it's often the kid that gets smacked around worse than either "parent".

Demons take time to fully reform. Mephisto and Diablos soulstones were shattered at the end of D2 and were brought back in D3. In d4, mephisto isnt even fully reformed. Just a floating skull in a pool of blood. Considering the fact that mephisto never took corporeal form in d3 whilst diablo did , containing his brothers essences, its safe to say diablo is slower on the resurrection business. Out of lore reasons tho its just to push dlc. About a year from now we’re gonna see something thatll have us fight diablo. His name is still on the title.

Killing lilith leaves too much unanswered. Theyll roll out the story seasonally so i expect diablo will appear as a part of dlc or seasonal content.

I dunno about anyone else but the panels or spokesmen for blizzard doing these talks about regions and what's going on in sanctuary do such a poor job of talking. It comes across very broken up and over rehearsed with the delivery sounding really flat. It's like the people doing this have talked their way into doing this job but aren't actually well practiced and comfortable with it. It just all sounds awkward...
