my 2010 Chevy Silverado, I could relearn the tire position with no tool because I could turn the engine off and turn on the key and on the odometer, I could push the button and put it in learning mode. I could deflate the tire and air it up and go around the whole truck in this manner. when deflating it, I would deflate until I heard the horn honk and then I could air it back up and repeat with each tire. The sensors do wear out after 10 years though and require replacement! Programming the key is the same way; you put it in learning mode with the headlights in off and radio off because the process for programming a new key takes about 45 minutes. I'm glad Chevy made it easy for these two things anyway!

@johnnyblue47993 жыл бұрын
@@Diagnosedan I understand that, however, my main point was about the content, biased towards marketing lately and less towards diagnosing and not about the frequency of the videos. I don't know what your intended audience is, but, while containing very precious information, DDTSB is not a tool for me. I don't make a living from fixing cars (although I'm thinking I should've pursued that). I'm a software guy with a strong passion for cars and motorcycles. So a subscription based model doesn't work for me. I only maintain two cars and two bikes. A subscription to DDTSB makes little sense to me. By the time I need to use it would probably be expired. What is really valuable to me, and probably to much of your audience, is how you go about finding defects. The diagnosing process. Something we can apply in finding other defects too. In the VW case, I wanted to know how you diagnose that switch if you don't have your knowledge and access to something like DDTSB. If you'll consider a limited time subscription which someone like me could purchase when they need it (for let's say a day, or a week and for a specific vehicle) then I might get interested. Otherwise, watching a promotional marketing video is not something I need. I'll probably never own that VW car, so knowing that VW came up with that hack to fix this particular defect, adds little to my ability to fix my own cars. Sorry if I offended you in any way. It was not my intention. I'm only pleading for the return of the real diagnostic videos.
@shane2502 жыл бұрын
@@Diagnosedan BECAUSE it's not your daytime job, you should be less worried about selling us products/services. I've seen people losing their audience this way too many times. You're probably the best diagnostician I came across (and I'm a trained diag that went to 2 years, full-time diag school, and then 1-year co-op with a diag of 12 years, who is also an electrical engineer...So that says a LOT. It will be a shame if you wasted your skill on selling stuff instead of sharing your wisdom. No offence though...Just my 2 cents.

Great video but the customer could have saved themselves time and money if they just searched this in one of the VW forums. It's a very common fault and easily fixed with the proper repair kit from VW in about 30 mins. There's a very cheap microswitch on the lever that gets covered in crud after a while and needs to be replaced. A temporary fix that normally works is to move the DSG lever back and forth quickly about 40 times that will clear some of the crud and allow you to drive for a while until you get the repair kit delivered. I've done this in two of my Golfs.

Autel is the best scan tool out there based on price/functionality. I've been using autel since they first came out with the old ds708 and have since bought 2 higher end autels.

You gotta love it when cars come in with no gas in them. If that would have came in with a running problem, I would have charged them to put gas in it.
