Nice video , thanks I fixed mine like you said ... I turn on and off rapidly 10 times and it works now for 3 weeks so far so good .... 👍🏻🙄🧐

Przemik You mean like turn the car completely on and then completely off ten times?
@midshipmino17864 жыл бұрын

Da Kina Thanks, buddy. I think I may have accidentally done that this weekend while installing two AEM Gauge/Controllers. My P/S light “randomly” came on and has been on ever since. Power steering still doesn’t work but the light is on. I’ll get down to fixing this this weekend hopefully. Just so many things to restore on a 30yo car

Da Kina Those perfect spring days with T-Tops off, wide open throttle around a long sweeping turn with 18PSI singing through the gorgeous instrument that is the Yamaha/Toyota 3S-GTE. Of course.

Around 6:15 you can see that the missing pin in the manual of the BMS/GND/MTH connector should be the top-right one. Look inside the actual connector in the car and it's the BOTTOM-right one that's missing.

Had a diagnose and showing error 21 which is pump temperature abnormally high, replace another used unit still returning same error with same behavior, PS stop working after driving it for few minutes. Any clue where does the ECU get the reading of motor high temperature? Thanks

Great video. One question, what year mr2 will this info work for. I have a 01 spyder.
@corpi99516 ай бұрын
Well, that one there in the video is a W2, which is one generation older than yours, the cabrio (spyder) mr2 is the W3, the newest generation of the three. In short, different mr2

Nice video. I ended up with a fault code 21, which says PS Motor Temp abnormally high..and when hot wiring motor, no spinning. Pretty sure my motor is bad as well. These fault codes for the circuit are by bridging the same connectors for the speed sensor blink on/off test by turning the wheel. Tc to E1.

If you put power and ground directly to the motor, it's dead. Check brushes and if they're not too short, need to get the motor rewound or find a used one

Thought you said this was Electric Power Steering. But you also say that you have a pump. EPS systems don't have pumps. That's Hydraulic.
@ChillaxedJosh6 жыл бұрын
Jason Hamilton it's an electronic motor that turns a pump but it's all one unit.
@tuga21126 жыл бұрын
what he means is that its an electric pump making the power steering work. usually the pump is powered by an auxiliary belt in the engine. back when the car was made. that was the meaning of electric power steering.
@polpotube5 жыл бұрын
that's a EH-PS Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering. It's got oil like a normal system but the pump spins thanks to an electric motor since the petrol engine is nowhere near the steering ;)
