You're indeed a blessing to mankind...I schooled outside Nigeria since I was little, I can't count the number of times I've been humiliated because, I can't speak my native language, I just have a lil knowledge of yoruba from my friends that do speak it...even my own fam are not helping matters You're gradually building my confidence and the assurance in me that, I can still make a change and disappoint those mocking my inability to speak my native language, thanks a lot Besides, you're friendly and nice, I love your personality

Ese. How do you distinguish between eti (ears) and eti (Friday)? I'm not sure I can hear the difference, or is it the same and you must rely upon context?

There are normally accent marks to distinct. Ètí is ear, but Èti is Friday. The left and right accents depict tone. A grave accent to the left represent a low tone while a acute accent to the right represents a high tone. Nothing is regular. It can get confusing but practice makes perfect.
