What ive learned from fly lady is, dont wait for your house to become dirty to clean it. Clean it when it's still clean and that way it never gets dirty. Probs obvious to most people but i never used to do that 🤣

Me too!! Diane has taught me the blessing of cleaning clean things!! I used to be killing myself to clean things that were really dirty becuase I hated cleaning and left things til they were horrible!! Then being so fed up because it took hours of scrubbing and scrapping and heavy chemical cleaners that I didn't clean it for another 6 months! Crazy now I look back! Rah, Rah, Rah, for us! Who knew cleaning could be so easy when we're consistent! 😃

Have resisted the idea because I'M A COWARD! I really have not been a good homemaker - it's a learning process all the way for me, even though now I am a grandmother! Just want to tell you that you are such a blessingto me, and I'm sure thousands of others. I do thank the Lord Jesus for you. You give me the courage to try. Thank you!

Thank you for explaining that the weekly home blessing hour isn't for thorough cleaning! I'm always surprised at how many women think it is, and complain that they can't do the whole house in one hour. It's a quick spruce-up, ladies, not spring cleaning, you know? 🌼🌼🌼

The first two months following flylady I used my oh so toxic mr clean - once I was comfortable that every surface was unmuddled by any real dirt, germs or anything gross or sticky - I started using a homemade mix of plain water with vinegar with just a wee drop of dish soap. Six months on and we're living in a clean and healthy home. Thank you Diane! For showing the way.

Such a great video Diane. You explain things and demonstrate flylady system so well., making it so easy. Because of the open windows and dust here I quickly do a skoosh skoosh of my bedrooms and a quick wipe over of the stairs in my whb . I don,t need to sweep or Hoover the bedroom first as I am consistent. I can't leave the bedrooms to just once a month here . Every country or home circumstances as you said are different but I easily do my whb in less than an hour. I think it,s a wonderful system and I can adapt it wherever I am. Lots of love Margaret

Have eased into zone cleaning having just watched a video of yours where you pulled out a calendar that had it written on and it finally clicked how that works.(many weeks just short in zone 1 and 5 ..get over thinking it's gotta be balanced......got it) But this is my first WHB. Go me! I watched you.....paused..... worked. Repeat. Until I was done! I only did the 5 minutes because 1)seemed more approachable for a first time 2)feeling under the weather. Have to remind myself it's like what we used to call in the hospital a 'P and C' bath. (Pits and crotch....sorry for the indelicate term). Hit the dirtiest parts/problem areas that need regular attending to. Do what makes the most impact with least effort. And rah rah rah it's done!

I’ve always struggled with the fact that Home Blessing Hour isn’t “enough” cleaning. When do you dust the bedrooms? Just once a month during zone cleaning? Do you do the floors of the other rooms only during zone cleaning too?
@DianeinDenmark5 жыл бұрын
Hi Kristin! If your bedrooms are high traffic, add them in to your WHB. Did you see my recent "zone 4 bedroom cleaning" video (I will give you a link) where I explain? I dust off the surfaces in our bedroom when I am changing sheets (using the old pillowcases which are heading for the wash) to keep our bedroom spick and span between zone cleans. We don't wear shoes in the house, don't eat in the bedroom, don't have pets - so our bedroom is only for sleeping = not high traffic. Hope that helps! kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKXMgoeQiZiDo9E

Fantastic timing, just what I needed to get back into my routines. Would you consider doing a video of all the things they do in Denmark to help the environment. Denmark just seems to have it figured out and it doesn't seem like its a major effort. I think we could learn a lot. Book swap, clothes swap, bottle deposit system. Do they do anything towards reducing plastic waste? Do they have the majority of products packed in non recyclable plastic or don't actually recycle the things that can be. Its pretty awful in the UK. If we all did our bit where we can we can make a huge difference.
@DianeinDenmark5 жыл бұрын
Yes, Denmark is working on all fronts to reduce plastic waste/ our carbon footprint. For example, supermarkets don't sell plastic cutlery, we have been using our own shopping bags for 20 years, deposit system on cans/glass bottles/plastic bottles. And many more initiatives, yay!

You decide yourself how you do it! If you want to zone clean and do WHB the same day, that's your choice. Personally, I spread my WHB over the week (as you saw in today's video). Hi Remedy! Here's the playlist, you'll see that the thumbnails are numbered 1 to 5 but you can actually watch them in any order you like, depending on what you need help with 🖐😀 kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmTHl3R3rNNon6c

When do you dust and vacuum bedrooms ?
@DianeinDenmark3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sherry! Bedrooms are part of the more detailed zone cleaning. But if they are a "high traffic" area for you (you have pets who sleep there) or you have allergies, you'll probably want to dust and vacuum there once a week. Takes a few minutes when you are consistent. Hope that helps!

what great videos! I am Italian, how can I have Italian subtitles? it would be wonderful!
@matcam62354 жыл бұрын
I find it hard to just clean high traffic floors and do the rest during detailed cleaning. I just feel my floors aren't all clean.

On your Instagram you list things every day do you do that or do you get it all done in one day? Or am I confusing what you put on Instagram as something else?
@DianeinDenmark5 жыл бұрын
Hi Dawna! The graphic (with the Flylady Weekly Home Blessing Hour tasks spread over the week) is simply the Flylady's own suggestion of you could adapt to your schedule. I split mine up as you see in the video.

Do the weekly home blessing tasks of mopping, dusting, vacuuming, windows/mirrors get done only on that week's zone or on the whole house?
@mixedmedialife79165 жыл бұрын
1:53 Just high traffic areas. And just do windows in that week's zone (less is more 😉)
@DianeinDenmark5 жыл бұрын
Not the whole house. You are do a quick, upkeep clean of the high traffic areas of your house = the rooms you use on a daily basis.

@@DianeinDenmark Thank you for responding! I've tried FlyLady in the past, but became overwhelmed trying to do too much too soon. Your approach seems very doable for me. I'm excited to get on board again!

@@Meg104D I also tried Flylady before but not seriously. This past March I ended up binge watching almost all 30 or so of Diane's "Baby Steps From Chaos to Clean" series while spring cleaning my home. I was hooked (and of course now i know never to binge watch - I set my timer; aaaand after following along for 6 mos I realize I never have to spring clean or desperation clean again!). I hope you will give it a go, Meg. May the force be with you 🎇🎉✌️🖖

I stopped watching marlas video all together because I can’t connect with her. You and the secret slob are my go to for all my cleaning and flylady motivation. You’re much more personable and enjoy your videos. Now I’m off to clean.

Me too! I tried to connect. When the system was introduced to me, she suggested Flylady Diane!

I totally agree! Last week Marla did a Facebook live and made comments about how stupid it was that places were closed during the lockdown. After that I knew that I couldn’t watch her anymore. Diane is the absolute best!

Hi Diane. Do you get stripes on the windows after cleaning them? Grtngs from Peggy
@BellinaSkyBright5 жыл бұрын
Not if you use microfibre cloths I use them all day in my cleaning job.
@DianeinDenmark5 жыл бұрын
Hi Peggy! No, no streaks with the microfiber cloth - I mention it on the video 🖐😃
@margaretsofocleous81375 жыл бұрын
@@DianeinDenmark I totall agree. I personally like to use a damp microfiber with the tiniest amount of washing up liquid such as Fairy then shine them with another microfiber cloth that my son bought for me. It is a professional window cleaning cloth . Mirrors and windows sparkle as well as TV screens etc.
