I think the reason why you didn’t have enough matches for the detailed AI is since I think it can only use mirror match data.

Yeah, a screen should pop up and explain this. You can get a detailed AI representation of yourself after doing 50 mirror matches against real players. Or you can get a quick n dirty representation after 10 iirc

My AI feels like a human that watched a bunch of my matches and is copying what I do, without understanding the situation to know when to do it

This, I don't have enough mirror data for an advanced training, but the simple one full screen parries even in burnout because I parry most projectiles I see lol

glad ur enjoying the v-rival stuff. i dont like input reading ai either. the most human fighting game ai ive ever played against was the shadow lab a.i. in the killer instinct reboot. it literally just plays replay data at u while a neural network tries to predict ur mixup tendencies

I think Terry probably doesn't work because they supposedly train the AI behaviour off of real player data and since Terry only just came out there's nothing to train off. I wonder when he'll become available

There should be an option to choose a +1900 AI or just Legends.

It might be available in the future, but as i understand the smaller playerbase on top level of play generates less data for AI training, which means it would take more time. For the popular characters it might be a bit easier, but having enough data on legend/1900mr+ honda, kimberly, manon, lily, jamie, etc will definitely be tough

The AI is trained based on regular matches - if you jusy spam a singke move the AI won't know how to respond to that as there is no training data for that. Yes a good AI will develop general knowledge but it is still cleatly a WIP. For the time being you want to play pretending it is a person.

could it be that your first match was way easier because the AI tried to go easy on a rookie player? seems to me that as soon as you got the master rank it changed completely

I think that's the case cuz I felt my first Ai match was way easy too then it turned the heat up in the next match
