Sew a dice bag! Or, if you don't put dice in in, just, like, a normal bag. The exact dice fabric is bought is here:www.spoonflowe...

I just wanted to make some dice bags for the box of dice I bought, and now apparently I've got to learn to sew. (I knew it!) This was helpful from a beginner's design standpoint, and that's exactly what I was looking for. It was easy to understand. Thanks.

In the past two years i made dice bags for all my friends and they love them 😊 thank you very much for this tutorial 🥰 Ps: I love that it's without visible edges! Much more durable that way ..

Thank you for this video I knit dice bags but I wasn't sure how to put a liner on the inside. This video gave me some great ideas. thank you so much.
@theresadettloff61963 жыл бұрын
This is really good! I love the idea of leaving the turning hole in the lining, maybe thats already a thing but ive never seen it before!!! Hooray for less mandatory topstiching in visible places! Also been struggling to pattern my oqn dice bag that I like, but yours has a great balance of structure without too many bulky seams. Good job! Fast, simple, clear, and an improvement on other things ive seen around! :)

I can't seem to wrap my mind around why that was necessary. It seems like she could have mated the pieces so that their backsides/invisible sides were touching before she sewed the rim together. Do you think you could help me understand why that was important? Why pull fabric through gap instead of assembling it as though it were simply reversible? I don't see a difference in the finished product. I'm not trying to be critical. I'd like to make one of these myself, and I'm interested. Edit: from watching another similar tutorial, I believe it's so the seam around the rim will be hidden within the cord channel for a cleaner look.

Question: is the side you marked as 10" actually 6"? You added 1.5" 2 times on either side of the centerline, no?
@BradfordNeedham4 жыл бұрын
I agree. That side looks like 1.5" + 3" + 1.5" = 6"

This is adorable! Thank you for sharing you pattern. I'll be tweaking it slightly because my (glow-in-the-dark fairies & unicorns) fabric is directional, but this is a great jumping off point.

Really nice tutorial! Thank you! Feel really good about using up spare fabric rather than spending the £15 to buy one online

Hi! I'm trying to make a dice bag just the way you did, but I keep getting something wrong. I wrote down what you did, and I thought I wrote it down exactly, but then it's wrong again after all. Twice. So now I'm trying to follow along each individual step to figure out where I usually get things wrong, and I think I've spotted it: You: "And now we do the same thing with the other bag." [Insert fast-motion repetition of first bag's sew-up.] Me: [does exact same thing with the other bag, then hits Play again] You: "Now, one thing I did differently was..." If you should happen to do another tutorial, I might suggest perhaps "And now we do the same thing with the other bag, EXCEPT..." instead. I don't make videos myself so I don't know whether KZbin grants you the ability to edit after one is posted, but if it does, I might also suggest putting some text or voiceover in that bit so that someone trying to follow will have a bit more clarity. Now that I know this, though, I have to say, I think this bag is going SWIMMINGLY and I'm really excited about finishing it! Thank you so much for doing it. It's probably the clearest tutorial I've seen yet.

I love this video! :D Is there a chance you will make one of these but with a separator in the middle? So it has two compartments while still having the same design on the outside?

Had trouble pulling the material through the tiny hole. Any tips on how to do this better next time? You speeded up that part in your video. Otherwise a fun project! Thanks. 😁😁😁
@Tesdinic4 жыл бұрын
I have found that when I have heavy or stiff material I have to leave a larger hole. I also backstitch on either side of the hole opening to make sure the thread doesnt pull out.

Growing up in the barbarous land of Inches but doing 3D printing in mm, I've made a Metric version of the pattern just for fun: needhamia.com/sewing-make-it-and-fake-its-dice-bag-project/ I hope that, being from the barbarous land of inches, I haven't made some silly mistake and come up with Kilograms :-) I know it should probably be in cm instead of mm, but.... At any rate, I converted the bag dimensions to 130 mm tall with a base of 80 mm square.

I think I'm being spectacularly dense, but where did the 10" measurement come from when you added it to the paper? I can't work it out!
