This is such an amazing idea and tutorial!! I wanna make a lantern shaped bag for a cosplay and while the shapes gonna be different this is is a huge help with some tips like cardboard, yawn on the seams and the buckles! Great video!

Great creation. My suggestion would be to use thin plastic instead of cardboard which will eventually get worn out and if it gets wet, forget about it. But great job, very cute

Do you know what type of plastic? I tried quilting template plastic and it was too thin

@@deiwolfz6289 depends on how stiff you want it. I've used the thin foam sheets they use in kids crafts, I've also used those disposable plastic cutting boards that are just thin sheets of plastic (dollar tree has them 2 pack for a dollar) finally, save the plastic from clear food packaging like the stuff you might buy premise bakery items in

What a cool idea! I am curious to know what the changes are that you mentioned at the end of the video. My husband said he would love to see this as a pillow instead of a bag, so that may be happening for Christmas! I just have to figure out how to use my mom's embroidery machine...

This is such a great idea! So much work but it definitely payed off! In the end you mentioned that you would change some things. What changes do you mean?

One thing she might have done different is to apply the interfacing before cutting the triangles - far less drama for glue on the iron, far less ironing, half the cutting...

What sizing did you use for the lining square? You didn’t specify and this is a gift to my husband o.o Help..

I think you are talking about the stabilizer under the embroidery? which was about 3" x 5". Long enough to reach the ends of the hoop and tall enough for the numbers to fit on it. lmk if that helps and if I answered the right question
