As I understand it, Alex Lolies' character is an elven soul stuck to a tree. Matt Jarvis' character is an early experiment in recreating elves, which means his grasp on his soul is bad at the best of times. He tops up with other peoples' souls though. The eel swims around in the air as if it is water. Alex Meehan's character might worship Khaine through murder and bloodshed, but that reverence is stolen by someone else (Morathi). Johny's character is just your average hypercapitalist atheist steampunk dwarf pirate drug addict flying around with a metal balloon strapped to his back. These are all, incidentally, categorised in the "good guys" box. I don't know much of it, but Age of Sigmar is wild.

2 minutes in, Wheels just announced that the adventure will be set in Shyish, and I´m already happy. So many AoS stories are set in either Aqshy or Ghyran, it´s nice to see something more uncommon. Although my choice would always be Chamon ;)

Just started playing a new D&D game as a fighter. I opened my mouth to speak in character for the first time, and out came Johnny's default "serious/tough guy" voice. Did not expect that.

My Warhammer: AoS: Soulbound group on Roll20 just started our campaign which is Shadows in the Mist yesterday with a Session 0 so me and the other 3 players can introduce ourselves, and our characters and our GM revealed we will be doing all 6 main books that make up Shadows in the Mist but along with the main books me and the other 3 players will also do 4 filler chapters one for each of our characters.

I can imagine johnny's character floating over a forest after a long night in the tavern, with too much bugman's xxxxx, roasting the treepeople with his wide range of insults, profanities and curses while picking off the occasional aelf with his gun

To Matt, your character is from the Idoneth Deepkin (mere-elves) and your Eel rides upon the magical ethersea Description: " Wherever the Idoneth Deepkin go, they bring the magic of their kingdoms with them. Before any troops arrive upon a battlefield a strange force washes over their destination, subtle at first, but becoming more and more pronounced. The area affected by this supernatural atmosphere can range from the size of a small fishing village to that of a sprawling city and its outlying defenses. On land, no matter how far from a body of water, sea mists rise and the salt tang of the ocean hangs in the air. Underwater the effect is equally singular, as the liquid shimmers, growing ever murkier as if clouds of silt were wafting in upon some alien tide. This is the ethersea, a pervading aura of magic that lends aid to the Idoneth while thwarting the efforts of their foes."

I don't blame Johnny for always playing Dwarves. I always play Skaven. Even in Blood Bowl I have a Skaven team. You just latch onto something you like. Can't fault that. (I'm always a Tiefling or Goblin in D&D too lol)

I love this TTRPG. The group I'm a part of just finished up the first book of the Shadows in the Mist Story-Arc/Campaign Blood Tide. And to recap what just happened. The Binding/Party which consists of a human Amethyst Battlemage from the Cult of Morra, my character a Witch Aelf from the Daughters of Khaine, a Sylvaneth Alchemist, and a Serephon Saurus arrived in Anvilgard with the overall objective of discovering the evil forces at work in the city and take them out before a Stormcast Eternal Purge Battalion is ordered to purge the city, and we started our investigation by getting the layout of the city, including my character going to the Dark Aelf district and learning that the city has come under siege from pirates that are using attacks from servants of Nurgle as a cover for their raids, and after meeting the governer-esque figure and having confirmation that the pirate attacks using Nurgle-fueled attacks as a cover was a incident happening, and that the city is also under siege from a seemingly malevolent sentient plant-life the Binding's first objective given was to work with a Captain of the Idolenth Faction and his crew to recover canisters from a crashed Kharadon Airship known as the Deneforth that is somewhere underwater and after spending a night the tavern/inn which included my character having lesbian sex with a female Light Aelf. The following morning we set sail and. the voyage to get to our underwater wreck wasn't easy to put it simply we had to slay a Leviadon, and sink two enemy ships a Nurgle ship, and a ship affiliated with the undead Flesheaters Court, and after reaching the wreck we had to with aid from the Sea-Lungs spell the Captain cast on us dive into the ocean, and enter the ship and after a battle with part of the surviving crew from Flesheaters Court ship we sunk we entered the Deneforth and with my Weapons Training skill my character was able to determine the canisters we were sent after were ammo canisters and that the airship crashed and sank due to getting shot down via enemy cannons during an air-battle, and the Amethyst Battlemage used his Weapons Training skill to determine the cannons that brought down the Deneforth were cannons from another Kharadon Airship leading to the revelation that the Deneforth was part of a air-battle between two in-fighting Kharadon forces of the same faction with the Deneforth getting shot down, and after a battle against more Flesheater Court members from the Flesheater ship we sunk including two Flesheater Ghasts my character and the Seraphon Saurus brought the airship ammo canisters to the ship's wench to be brought up and after all of them were brought to the ship, we had to swim to the surface due to the time-limit on Sea-Lungs about to expire thought after reaching the surface the ship we brought the canisters to had vanished leaving only enough debris to build a raft to reach a jungle a couple of miles from Anvilgard, though building the raft did attract some shark-like creatures which gave my character a minor injury by biting her left leg, and so we ended with the Binding taking a rest due to night approaching with the next part of Shadows in the Mist being the Binding going on a filler adventure through the jungle to return to Anvilgard. Basically we're doing all 6 main books of the Shadows in the Mist story-arc but we're adding in filler adventures every so often to extend the campaign for more RP opportunities and to expand the lore.

Yeah sorta! Though it’d be more like watching an eel swimming in water but in the air over dry land. Like think of it moving through an ephemeral current of “water” except the water is this magical sea the Idoneth bring with them.
