What a genius he has got to be the best theatrical comic actor. Ever. There's so much stuff he's done that every other comic actor have ripped off, and I'm like yes funny but so overplayed, and watching this guy was a breath of fresh air, like new, but done so much style,vi hope he's still having laughs. Rip Mr Emery. I love you man,

I can watch this clip over and over and i still cry laughing. So funny.
@johntaylor63452 жыл бұрын
I've seen this clip dozens of times now and still can't stop laughing when I watch it. The recorded laughter is mainly from women in the audience watching Dick because they found him very funny. The music used on this is clever because it suggests slapstick.

My Dad had a Hillman Avenger just like that one at 0:47 before he ruined it and sanded the orange paint off and tried to paint it in red. It was an N reg and we had it from 79 until late 83 when it was scrapped. Had those black vinyl seats that baked in the summer heat....Just thought I'd mention it.

I think that was a young Penelope Keith driving it too. You could see her trying not to laugh at the end of that snippet!

Loved Dick Emery, they should release all his material on DVD.

I believe there is a series of Dicks shows available. Although I would be surprised if it covers everything that he has recorded.

I have fond childhood memories of watching Dick Emery with my big sister and Dad on a saturday night. Not sure its aged well, looks a bit leaden paced and unsophisticated for todays audiences. Harry Enfield was greatly influenced by the great man and he's a comic genius who hasnt dated. I see comparisons with Benny Hill of who some of his stuff still looks good

American 'comedy' is so lame compared to the British version! Dick Emery, Benny Hill, these guys are classics. There are practically no American comics today of any worth, none at all.
