This video is a Dictation, or write what you hear activity. This is useful for the Duolingo English Test as well as excellent preparation for note-taking activities or general English.
At the beginning of the video, I talk about the Duolingo English Test dictation and then give you practice sentences. At the end of the video, I show you the answers.

More of the half of the student at school are recent residents immagirants He has written many song for many artists I didn't recieved the message in time The bear stopped and started at him but made no move to run away

I am in the process to take again the Duolingo test, and you Sally are the best giving tips, practices, examples on how to work during the test. I will try again test in some days, and I feel I will be more prepared now than in my previous 2 tries where I did not get the score I was expecting (115 ).

It was helpfull, many time ago I was looking for this kind of dictate, I saw that I have many problems with the identification of past times. I'm almost not even to listen those "ed" sometimes, just when I got totally the context actually, at least I got the most of the words. I hope to keep working with this channel.

@@TeacherSally The Conversation section is my weakness. I need to improve my listening and speaking, also I need to use an advanced vocabulary. I feel hard try to get that score, I know I'm close but I cannot improve much. But I'm still trying :)

​@@natalyhidalgo1367 The speaking sections are hard. It's hard to think that fast! I think there are a couple of options for boosting the score. You could work on a section that's not your best but not your worst. My thought is that if you're already fairly good at it, then it may be easier to boost up a bit. The other option is to pick one of your weaker skills to focus the most effort on. Good luck! I know you can do it!!

Sentence 4: in the first audio has the word EATING. However in the answer don't.

For some people that's a hard thing to practice- to get used to typing! Just keep practicing typing as much as you can!

Teacher Sally, I went through the test once but I found quiet a few bigger sentences therein the listening portion and the most prominent thing was, the sentences were spoken faster. Would you please make a video with such resources and materials that we can cope up with the difficulty level of the real test, mam? And thanks for everything you are trying to help us with.

I will do more dictations. I have a couple in this channel. Everyone gets such different sentences depending on their level, but yes I will make a video with difficult dictations.

It won't matter much. They said punctuation doesn't count as much as the words.

Would you mind helping me sort out a problem? While i take a 15 minute sample test, i get 110-135, what does it mean exactly? Do i need to improve lot more? Thanks in advance!

I'm glad you are enjoying my channel and finding my replies helpful! I'm trying to keep up 😉 The practice test score is a range. They say that its a guess of the lowest to highest score you could get on the real test considering the questions and length will be different. Basically, it seems like people usually score in the middle of that number.

Most of the videos on my channel so far are specifically for an English test called the Duolingo English Test. These are specific to that test, but practicing the questions is also useful for general English practice. I am planning some upcoming videos that are not specific to a particular test.
