I'm not here for your low-ass effort, the rules are here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2i0g4ZsrtGfjZY

What is the minimum length of time required for effort? Remember I literally put hyperpolymath on my resume (superdroid1 at linkedin) so whatever normal mortals do I can probably punch out in about 20% or less of their time. Music always plays in my head and it's rarely the music that other people have made...it's like this infinite loop running so I just backgrounded it forever ago. I get on Hoglan's Twitch stream and the death metal lyricism just flows out of me - they're the only ones who haven't freaked out lol I was thinking about recording all the parts separately on my cell phone, sending them to google hangouts, and mixing them in audacity. Is that adequate? (I literally have a basement and a church I can record in, handy, so I don't usually play with any room effects in post, I'm a fan of single take runs)
@russellzauner3 жыл бұрын
also the hurry up but also show great effort with quality original output vibe is confusing to my adhd lol but if i just pull something out of my ass and actually record it we should be good, i mean, it's the standard mode right?

@@ShrubPlays Doesn't matter. Just do it. Some of the best songs in the world are written by people who can't sing a note. Maybe partner up with someone who IS good at writing lyrics. Maybe don't worry about whether or not you think your lyrics are good. There are a lot of people in the world who think they're great at writing lyrics, and they suck lol!! Steve Harris writes all of the lyrics for Iron Maiden. He always has - and he can't sing for s't. So there you go. Bruce Dickinson is one of the world's great metal singers, but he knows Steve Harris is a much better lyric writer, so he lets Steve Harris do that. Smart guy ;-) The point is, many of the world's great songwriters have said that they had to write 1000 bad songs to learn how to write good songs. So go write some bad songs. It'll totally OK. It's part of the process. Write your bad lyrics, grab a cheap-ass mic, sing into that cheap-ass mic, and just START WRITING. It's literally your JOB to be bad right now. Be bad, be less bad, be better than bad, then be good. basically.

Making an instrumental song or riff salad may not be the problem itself. The instrumental should have some sort of motif or drive and most importantly structure, so the riffs sound like they were intended to go after another, like in Orion, Call of Ktulhu, Voice of The Soul or Cosmic Sea. Problem I see with instrumental tracks here is that they sound like creators took first four riffs they have created that were sitting recorded on their phones and just crammed them in a track using spit instead of duck tape. No drive or structure what so ever.
