You uncovered a great angle on life with a player 2. It would be good for a lot of folks to see your breakdown of 2 people with the Capital One duo (not having an authorized user, but, instead, 2x $395 annual fee) vs. them having the Capital One duo with p2 as an authorized user, vs. the Chase trifecta with p2 as an authorized user for the CSR. It seems to me that, if player 2 travels, then double Capital One duo is best because of the global entry/TSA credit for player 2, otherwise, it's better to go with either of the other options, with the Chase one being better for the higher spenders and the capital one duo with an authorized user being better for the lower spenders.

Where the Chase Sapphire Reserve makes the most sense is being a regular passangers cruiser where your Chase benefits for emergency health insurance bring more value than if you paid an annual Travel Insurance policy from Allianz. If you cruise 3 or less times it might be cheaper to buy an individual policy but the more you cruise it can save $300 plus dollars a year just for single person policy. Luke you don't care about any Chase benefits but when it comes to all the travel benefits on this card when you need them they are there. However when you shop for it that's a separate expense that adds up fast. If I cruised in international waters often enough I would want this card more than Allianz.

@@LukesPointsandMiles When it comes to travel insurance that includes foreign emergency medical care and evacuation one thing Allianz ask for when issuing a quote is your age so I think the rates could be higher the older you are, but I don't know how much age plays a factor in their rates. I have never done a Berkshire Travel annual quote so I don't know how it compares to Chase for a full year travel insurance policy. Cruise lines don't deal with a personal health insurance policy. So if for some unforeseen major sickness occurs they want to charge your credit card the medical evac which is like $4000 or something that some passanger had to pay on his credit card. Even if you took your whole family on a 3 day Ocean cruise you're covered without even having to think about what Travel insurance you have don't have because that card covers every Travel insurance benefit you can think of. The only thing is you have to use that card to pay for your cruise. So no matter how much you like your Capital One X card when you use that card your Chase travel benefits are not going to help you.

I can assure you Chase hasn't done a great job rolling out Chase lounge in Phoenix. It's been "coming soon" for over a year now. No clue what's going on behind that wall but it should've been done several months ago.

Last week I spoke with one of the employees at the AMEX lounge who I have have seen there for many years. He told me he is going to apply for the Chase Lounge as they are going to open up applications in a few weeks. I asked him do they have an opening date, and he said, I would think soon if they are taking apps. But yes, I have seen that "Coming Soon" sign since that portion of the D gates has opened, close to two years ago now.

@LukesPointsandMiles fair point. Just frustrated with lack of progress on one here considering we're like the 5th largest city in the U.S. and it's pushing 2 years to roll out their lounge. @LukesPointsandMiles3 ай бұрын
@@czrs85 I don’t think anyone would do that because the math is so bad. Let’s take a look. 100k chase UR points equals 170k Marriott points. Transferring 3:1 to Alaska gives you 56,666 Alaska miles. So you are spending 100k ur points to get 56k airline miles.

Meh it's a good card, but the only one of the "big three" that can't cover the annual fee in usable credits. Protections are very good to have, but how often are they actually used? The portal boost is also huge. Maybe I just don't travel enough to have issues to leverage these protections. I find it weird that I can justify the Platinum more than this.
