It seems like the Beyond Universe is becoming a canon future or at least including many things from the usual time stream and putting it as a pre cursor. If they’re going forward in time I wish they would just focus on the beyond universe and that generation of characters. I really don’t like the idea of Luke Fox becoming Batman or Boomerang’s son becoming The Flash. There are several other characters I’d rather see continue on those legacies.

I was a bit disappointed that this iteration didn't include the usual "giant hand holding the universe in it's palm" image. I wonder if DC is doing this to clean up the legacy characters and timelines since the Golden age without having to go through new origin stories for all the heroes. If that were the case that would actually be pretty cool. We could see Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman go through the transitions shown in Superman/Batman Generations and also future set comics like Legion of Superheroes, Batman Beyond and Dark Knight Returns. This way instead of having like 8 or 9 different Green Lanterns or Flash or Robins or Bat Girls hanging out together in the same era, we can have them grouped in different time periods having many of their own adventures, retiring at some point and passing on the torch to the next generation. This retirement of characters would also be symbolic of new creators coming up with new content with some inspiration from the originals.
