I'm going to do more video essays about movies (particularly those about pop music) but also keep doing reviews/era recaps! What movies should I do next?!

Who knew a cash grab movie could possibly end the pure pop era until few years later it would revive from the grave🤷♂️

Y’know that analogy bit at the end was pretty genius, but tbh I still don’t see how Trolls “killed” pop music, aside from maybe Can’t Stop the Feeling being overplayed. I feel like pop in the 2010s was on it’s way out by the end of 2015 idk 🤷🏿♂️

Sadly it was on its way out and this film kinda felt like the little last gasp of life esp with that song 😭

As a Dreamworks Trolls fan I gotta say finally a semi negative video that is a good Freaking meal. Great job really love your style and you brought up a lot of great points on the time Trolls dropped.

The movie itself isn’t bad (I actually like the first one, iffy feelings about the second) but it definitely more or less felt “late” and may have accelerated a dying era in pop! Thanks for watching!

@@EljohnMacaranas As a fan any critical video of the franchise that offers a dialogue is RARE as hell so a video like this is great for the fandom even with you liking film one this is great! Also your welcome Im glad found this when I did Im pumped for the World Tour video

@Eljohn Macaranas I remember when they were like pop stars. Their still popular, but not like my version. Alot of people don't know that the ninja turtles did music albums and a huge concert tour in 1990. The original turtles mania I would put it with spice Mania, Madonna Mania. It was that massive, it only ended when Saban entered the game with the mighty Morphin power rangers.

OHkay I actually was really into the Trollz with a Z show growing up X"D I was a sucker for most things magical girl related (the Disney Fairies reboot comes to mind). Played the flash games, watched the show where I could find it, and I think I had at least one doll of the new design

The most influential thing that remade pop sound is lana del rey. After born to die and ultraviolence all of the singers changed their aesthetics drastically and till this day we can see her influence in pop music that became darker and edgy-ish
