Dude, you reviewed the base of the base model. Get a 3LT Z51 package if you’re going to review a C8. Also, when others review the C8, you can hear the engine. You couldn’t really hear the engine when you were taking off. That tells me you either can’t drive or were sandbagging. The 720S does 0-60 in 2.5. The C8 does it in 2.8 (Chevy lists it at 2.9) The Senna is listed at 2.9 The 600LT is listed at 2.9 The 675LT is listed at 3.0. So, I think you need to either learn how to drive, or stop sandbagging. Still an entertaining video, as always.

I have had extensive seat time in a 3LT C8. Look, I've owned a 12C, 570S, 600LT, and currently a 765LT, the Corvette even in 3LT z51 package doesn't hold a candle to even a 12C or a 570S. McLaren underrates everything, and I have yet to get my buddies C8 into the twos for 0 to 60. It requires the planets to be aligned, I'm not talking about what's on the screen, I'm talking about put a draggy on it or take it to the track. You can't get them to consistently get under 3.x seconds. The McLaren will just do high to mid 2.x all day long blindfolded, but then it's after 60 that the Mac just pulls away like a freight train. The trap speed in the quarter is like 10 to 15 mph difference, it's not even close, we're talking multiple bus lengths. But it's not just that, it's the steering feel, the brakes, the transmission, you can't compare a Corvette to even the first generation 12C. And as you get even newer to like the 600LT, it's not even a conversation. Z06, yeah that may be a different story, but even then I'd still rather get a used 600LT then pay over sticker for a Z06, and I am in line for one so I'm not being biased. I'm sure the Z06 will be amazing, and I look forward to getting mine, but it will not be a McLaren or a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. Maybe around the track it will be close, but, there's something about the specialness of a true supercar and the way they are built and the way they handle that makes them worth the money. Two of my friends that had a C8 kept bragging that they had a supercar. I then handed them the keys to my 600LT and they nearly spit their pants when they drove it back to back. It's just that much more car. I think some of the stuff in this video are a bit exaggerated, but if someone thinks their C8 is a supercar, they've never really driven a real supercar. The C8 is fantastic for what it's supposed to be.

I’m sorry, but I just don’t get the need for all of the vulgarity, and condescending rhetoric, in PJ’s video’s. So unnecessary and crass. I have owned all of the exotics at one time or another, and have also owned a C8. If you are going to compare the C8 to exotic cars, then you need to at least drive something other than the base model. This car has it’s place in the automotive world, and it doesn’t matter whether someone is rich or poor. I really enjoyed my C8 while I had it. Performance wise, it was comparable to a number of much more expensive sports cars, and was fun to drive. Serves no purpose talking down to people who like the C8. PJ needs to read the book, “How to Win Friends, and Influence People.” Review the car, point out the good things and the bad things, then move on to the next car, and let people decide for themselves. C8 demand, and sales, speak for the car’s popularity. I personally think the C8 has been great for the car world, and certainly has gotten the attention of the exotic car makers.

I own this car. Yes, it lacks emotion, but you must get on the highway before it opens up. It is emotionless around the street, and you gotta have your settings correct. The z06 has more emotion. It is more of a GT car than anything else. It is not even close to Ferrari, Lambo, or Mclaren from an emotion standpoint.

This is what every driver that wants to be known for his wallet says. Every car show i have been to, the C8 Stingray makes most exotics look like rip-offs. The JET FIGHTER looks on the C8 series is on point as the interior. It has been tested by everyone credible in the entire industry, and heralded as a complete game changer. The C8 Z06 has wiped out Lamborghinis entire line up past and present on looks and performance. Get what you want, but a C8 Stingray with Z51 humiliates ANY 458 variant ever made by Ferrari.

They went far and beyond in terms of a ACTUAL race chassis. You simply don't understand its development and cost from GMs economy of scale ability. McLaren is Gulf Oil, and built as a specialty car company off Nissans LMP engine with a Carbon fiber tub chassis. GM won't do that, but can seemingly meet its performance. You really should study what your buying.

The base C8 is a solid sports car. The Z06 took it up a notch and I'm sure the additional versions, i.e. ZR1, E-Ray, etc., will take performance even further. By the way, Chevrolet and Cadillac are both GM products, hence the reason the key fobs look alike. So I don't get why PJ would clown "Chevrolet" but not the Caddy. Both offer some good products.

My friend owns a Ferrari F8 and a Cadillac Escalade. It’s a nice SUV but you could tell that build Qualtiy is not that great. We took it to the dealer a few times and response was along the lines of meh, it’s GM…it’s been known to have quarks like that. *Shoulder shrug*

One day, my passenger pulled the door close a little harder than usual and a piece of the passenger door handle came off. There was some flaw in the design that made that particular handle in a lot of cars like mine come off under normal use. That just showed me there's definitely going to be quirks and flaws in every car and every manufacturer.

I think this is more about the guy who is not financially independent, but reaches for the C8 because it's 3-4x less than McLaren. Why do you think C8s are priced the way they are? If they only have a C8 as their weekend "super" car, then they are too poor to afford real supercars and rob themselves of that experience. What they should do is work and serve more people and get rich so that they can enjoy all the supercars on this planet. The Corvette nameplate is an American icon yes, but I don't see many wealthy people owning corvette's..in fact I see them more with Rolls Royces and Bentleys with their own driver.

As a track driver, if I can buy a car that is as fast or faster around a track for 60% less money why would I waste my money? I have had both McLaren and Lambo and honestly for the money they are a rip off. I know a few exotic car owners who are in line for the new Z06 just as I am. Speed Phenom just posted a video of his new Z around the track it sounds great and he feels it will be breaking records? Time will tell. Track driving is not the entire picture but if you don’t like the Z just sell it or throw it away. Lol😂. Love the way you describe things. Lol😢 You need the 3LT to compare a 70k car to. 300k car.

Fellow track driver here.... and quick too. The C8 is trash once you get to the faster end of the Advanced group. Needs -3* of camber just to complete a turn and it's dog slow. For the money, there are far better options. PJ was taking a jab at the GM marketing which basically pumped it as a supercar killer. A 10 year old MP4-12C with nothing more than race tires will annihilate a fully track prepped C8. The C8 Z06 while hopeful is still is unproven.... but now you're in Supercar territory as far as pricing. If you have $200k to spend on a car, honestly why buy a C8? $150k on a 570S and use the remaining $$$ for servicing is a sure ticket to both going fast and getting laid. :D hahahahaha

I own a C8 3LT and I absolutely loved this video LOL. I've spent some time with McLarens and when comparing the two cars, yes the McLaren is much faster, sounds better and is a true exotic, but McLaren's are pieces of sh*t that break all the time and depreciate like crazy. The C8 is much more comfortable to drive, the stereo is the best I've ever heard in a car, its reliable because its a Chevy, and if you ever have a mechanical issue, all you have to do is take it to your nearest dealership for service. As much as I love my C8, I agree that it doesn't feel super fast. I mean, its fast but its not get your d**k hard fast. Thanks for the video, please do more like this they are very entertaining.

My only issue wot the c8s are the ridiculous money over sticker they are going for. I will say a base c8 ISN'T worth 100k ANYTHING and a Z06 certainly isn't worth 200K. Besides that the vet is a sweet ride and nothing else compares to it in its price range. IF you get one for MSRP, you are getting a hell of a car that actually works.

Please explain how a Z06 is a better performer than a 720S? Even a 600LT runs a 10.5@136MPH. The best times on a new Z06 is 10.5@131MPH, a 720S traps at nearly 145MPH and is in the 9’s…..another universe in terms of speed. The C8 is a great car for the money…..but because “money” is an key consideration it doesn’t have key components that a Mclaren has such as the carbon tub construction and hence why it’s 3,700lbs versus 3,100lbs for a Mclaren

I think pple shouldnt call, consider or compare the regular c8 to exotics, it's a great entry level sports car that happens to be midengined like the Alfa 4C, and it's made in shit loads. Great car at that price point, definitely makes a good statement among your regular audi RS AMG Ms and way cheaper than 911s. But it shouldnt come anywhere near the word exotic or supercar, that's when u get wrong expectations that is illustrated in this video. The z06 takes a step closer but that's still debatable. I will prob never get one tho because i prefer the designs of the european cars, but it's def worth the respect of car enthusiast (just like the JDMs like GTR or NSX, great performance bargains), calling c8 trash is a bit exaggerating lol

I know that many enthusiasts use 0-60 MPH as the benchmark for comparison, but I'm looking more and more at 1/4-mile times and speeds. I believe the C8 Z06 is a bit faster than the 570S in this regard, but here are some other differences: The C8 has more sound insulation. The C8 has far more electronics, which likely means that it will also have more problems during and after its warranty expires. The McLaren 570 looks better IMO and gets more attention, especially because of its dihedral doors. There will always be more advice from Corvette owners in forums, regarding technical issues and resolutions.

Having an owner's perspectives towards any car is just more profound and I as a viewer get to know the details of the daily usage conditions. And I got tons of information even without joining ECH. So by joining, I can only imagine how much more I would learn. Keep it up. However, a small side note, regarding this particular video. I am not a vette fan nor do I own one. But I had hoped you would give a classier review of this car or even a classier disapproval for the new vette. I had expected a lot more gentler, classier response from you because you have owned like hundreds of exotic cars, and now you even have a chiron. For me, it is just sad to see someone up there trashing a vette like you did here. You could have just not done this review and let it pass, it would have sent a better message. But you deserve your own opinion. Just my 2 cents.

This is actually exactly what I expected from you. In all fairness, you're reviewing a base $60k car. At least review a Z06. It's still not a 720s, but a hell of a lot closer and half the price. BTW, I agree that anti-head wall is the worse part of the interior.

C8 isn't a supercar and it isn't really competition for a supercar. Anyone who knows what they're talking about wouldn't compare it to a supercar because the only comparison there is the launch control and tire grip making a good 0-60, once you get going it's just not on that level. I would compare it to some other sports cars though, even from porsche, and I would compare a C8 Z06 to at least a few supercars performance wise.

Another car guy reviewed his Corvette C8 and compared it to his Ferrari 428 Italia. He said the Corvette is safer and more tame (he said it can be daily driven more those reasons). His Ferrari scares him if he wants to push it at higher rpms. His conclusion that the C8 is a Supercar on training wheels (he said the Ferrari has the rawness factor a step up).

I just drove a C8 Z51. It sounded great and revved super fast. However, the driving experience wasn’t that special. The 2005 Dodge Viper I drove before it was WAY more entertaining.

One thing the C8 will have over exotics is the C8 will be more likely to see 150,000 miles. That kinda takes away from being "special" because of more drivers driving more miles but you won't be able to knock reliability.

I have 600LT and I tryed the Vette with 3LT Z51 packege and it feels like shet, PJ i right you don't feel happy or excited. You probebly get excited if never had anything better. But it is not a bad car, it's just don't good enough when you compare to peace of art like a Lambo or Maclaren.

I learned a lot from this video. It’s very important to get head on a super car because affording a house is apparently out of the question. The C8 is an engineering master piece at $60k. You were driving the base model, which is meant for a broader market than all the exotics combined.

PJ don’t know how to drive a vette, when it’s in automatic and you step on it it’s skips right up past the first 2 gears and goes right into 3rd. A launch of a C8 in automatic would gap any huracán or Ferrari. There’s even a video by Edmunds of a C8 racing a McLaren 765LT and beats it 0-60

There's levels to these cars . Base c8 is def not a mclaren , it also doesn't cost as much or break as much as one . The vettes are bargain sports cars that can get modded and destroy a lot of more expensive and fragile exotics for a lot less money . I'll go for an R8 v10 for a more affordable exotic bargain . Too many c8s on the street already

The C8 in my opinion is it's first shot at a Supercar under $100,000. When people try to compare it, the class it compares to is the base Porsche 911 and the Cayman GT4. No one is going to call a base 911 a exotic car and the Cayman GT4 is rougher ride not built for comfort. I notice exotic car guys critique more integrite performance issues what they said can't satisfy their suspicion. People who buy Corvettes want a high performance vehicle without paying exotic car maintenance. How about the aftermarket upgrades people put on the Vette to unleash levels of performance. In terms of exotic car rental, people my want to rent the Corvette because it's American Muscle. Exotic Cars came a long way offering luxury comforts and I don't see the Corvette's interior comfort no different than a Chevy Impala Premier. The Mustang GT500 and the Challenger Hellcat are luxury cars and people will choose them over M8 Competition and Audi RS5 Coupe because American Muscle. I also think the camera person has a bias against C8 Corvette because he experienced Exotics. The cockpit design can be a plus to some Corvette fans because it's a personalized driver's experience with everything at arm's reach. The complaint if the passenger can change the heat, ac, stereo or The C8 isn't a Ferrari F8 Tribunto with the nicest interior, but how many people own a Ferrari, McLaren.
