Yes, it is! But it doesn’t compare. The Last Mrs. Parrish is so much more superior.

I JUST finished The Housemaid and came looking for this! When I was reading this I was like woah this is the exact same plot, almost same characters to a tee and even written the same way splitting the perspective’s 🤦🏻♀️

Hey!! Brazil here! Thank gosh for your video. When I started the housemaid I had just read the last Mrs parish and in the right beginning I went to google and searched the author’s name to check if there was any news about plagiarism because I just couldn’t believe I was the only noticing that
@sailaway11227 ай бұрын
The Housemaid is absolutely a ripoff from The Last Mrs. Parish. As I was reading it, I kept questioning myself on if I had read it before because I already Be familiar with the story. Even the structure of the books are the same. BTW your curls are perfection.

Hi there! Really awesome your video! When the Housemaid was published here in Portugal, I was basically the only reader that found that book really similar to the Mrs Parrish. I was so angry that I never read any book by Freida McFadden. Next month we will have another, Never Lie, even so... I am not going to read it.

They are incredibly, incredibly similar. I've also heard that The Wife Upstairs by her is VERY similar to Verity by Colleen hoover. 👀
@freyathegolden5 ай бұрын
@@Taylorfayereads nah I've read both but the plot is entirely different. I mean If you judge a book by a character and the way it's portrayed then you can't read any book not just Freida's , cause of course there is going to be similarities. And this doesnt apply only to books and writing , it includes music , art and many more. I mean there is never going to be a topic that only an author claims cause he wrote it first. So people should get over this. You either like it or dont like it but in my opinion I wouldn't spread lies.

If me and you wrote a stroy about twin blue dragons from the future we'd come up with two different stories even the plot. But many artist steal. This seems to be to similar to be a coincidence@@freyathegolden
@freyathegolden3 ай бұрын
@@corruptauthor I'm not putting down the possibility of stealing. But it can happen that two or more persons share same ideas and stuff not to say a whole book idea but you get my point. And since she now published a triology to this first book I dont think it's fair to say it's all from mrs.parish.

I've lost all respect for Freida McFadden. I've read all of her books and she was my favorite author until I read Verity and realized she's just a copycat.

There's so many other fund little domestic thrillers. A perfect Ruin by shanora williams is a great replacement!

Cece is Nina’s daughter not Daphne, Daphne has the two daughters. That’s how similar and interchangeable everybody is in these two books.

I love this style of video! The deep dive. 🔥 Your dramatic editing is what I live for. I believe that... it story feels really similar. Especially when you strip it down to facts on what happened. But I'd definitely have to read both to really get a feel (though tbh, I don't think I will LOL), but I do think that the execution is generally how I would differentiate or state if one is a copy of another.

I don't get the hype with the Housemaid... At all. I just wanted to stop reading halfway but kept telling myself maybe it will get better, but honestly everything was just ridiculous. I just dont get why people are so crazy about it, and then I see this vlog. The best part about the novel, which was the twist and the scheming by Nina, were not even (allegedly) her original ideas. I should have just read The Last Mrs. Parrish, but I feel like the excitement of the twist has been robbed from me already so I guess I wont be reading it anymore.

The housemaid honestly, was the first book that got me back into reading as an adult. But now the more I read the more RIDICULOUS this book seems AND SHE "allegedly" stole it. BYE!

There's a lot of similarities in the two books. I think a lot of authors get inspired by other authors. Same with movies IMO. I thought the housemaid was just okay. The teacher by Frida is better LOL

Oh damn I just finished the housemaid and never lie. Frieda books are a little simple but I was still interested all the way through so I like her as author but if she has more than 1 book that blatantly stole from another that’s a damn shame.
