Ma'am , I've been living in Chennai since 2016 idhu past start panni present continue agittu iruka visayam have been living thane varum

In certain contents, both the present perfect tense and the present perfect continuous tense mean the same, esp. when you use the verbs live and work. I've been living in Chennai since 2016. (unfinished action) I've lived in Chennai since 2016. (unfinished action) (They mean the same) I've worked here since 2010. (unfinished action) I've been working here since 2010. (unfinished action) (They mean the same) -------------------------------------------------- Let's look at this context. You hair-dryer is broken. I've been trying to fix my hair-dryer (unfinished action) I've tried to fix my hair-dryer (finished action - I'm done. I've given up. I can't fix it. But it has some connection to the present. You can't dry your hair now that it's broken) ----------------------------

I have lived in Chennai since 2016. It's not a correct sentence mam.// Present perfect should not be used when you are using a period or year. please correct me, if i am wrong.

Today Morning at 10 clock, I completed a work to which was given by my mummy. In the evening how mom come and ask me ? Did you complete that work ? Or have u completed that work?
@EnglishMozhi3 жыл бұрын
(a) Did you complete the work? (b) Have you completed the work? Both are correct. Usually we use option (b) --------- Let's say you broke a beautiful vase accidentally. Your mom notices it after a while. She'd say - Did you break the vase? She wouldn't say - Have you broken the vase?
