I have heard of this story. From what I've seen through articles and other documentaries he was falsely accused. Although he was acquitted in a court of law, the court of public opinion unfortunately still wields enough power to destroy someone's career or reputation.

Yes. I know his story. Virginia was also said to be a "professional". She was alleged to have illegal abortions and maybe one of those proceedures caused the illness. I don't believe he did this crime either. And, sadly, this crushed his career, too.

There was a doctor who was an expert medical witness. She testified that Arbuckle landing on the girl could not possibly havre caused her injuries.

It was later discovered Rappe died from a botched abortion or an infection from appendix. He tried to help her by giving her cold water, emergency help.

There is more to the story than this. I know you couldn’t go into it here because of the graphic detail of the alleged crime. The things that he was accused of would be too graphic to put on here. Anyone interested in what Roscoe “fatty” Arbuckle, is alleged to have done to Virginia Rapp, just google him and you will see how he was shit on by Hollywood! As a result of the false allegations against him, his career never recovered, and the man died nearly penniless, having spent tons of money on his defense. I think the state should’ve reimbursed him the money he had to spend to exonerate himself. Same thing should apply to the O.J. Simpson trial. The man was found not guilty, but yet the law allowed the families of the victims to nearly clean OJ out of everything he owned. All of their greed didn’t bring Ron or Nicole back. In this country, a person can be found not guilty of a murder, but that same person can be turned into a pauper in a civil suit. That’s like the court saying “OK you were found not guilty, but you’re still going to give the victims families nearly all of your money and then you have to go steal your own property back just to try to eat. The same thing happened to Roscoe Arbuckle. all the greed in the world is not going to bring loved ones back. So I bother going after somebody once they’ve been found not guilty? It makes no sense sometimes.

Rappe is pronounced like fiancé. I studied this case in college. I wrote a paper on it working towards my criminal justice degree. Bottom line is, they needed a scapegoat and Fatty Arbuckle was it. Charges should never been brought as it couldn’t be proven how the rupture occurred. Ìt ruined his career. I'm not an an expert by any means and I hope I haven’t ruined a well presented case by you Chris.😊😊
