Did I get a new service dog?

Hi everyone! I am so excited to introduce you all to my very first program dog. Czar (Zar). Zar is a 11-month-old Golden Retriever, through a program called Paws for Life, USA located in Marietta, GA. As explained in the video, Zar is not mine, but I am training him to hopefully be a service dog for someone else. He doesn't have a placement right now, but in a month or so the trainer and I will evaluate his progress and try and match him with a recipient. After working with him for the past week, I think Zar would make an incredible Psychiatric service dog! He is not tasked trained yet. We work on basic/advanced obedience and socialization!
How does a golden differ from training Balto?
Czar is a lot more driven, Balto is very independent. Zar loves to please, and he lives for praise.

Is he a retriever? He’s very cute. I thought maybe you wanted him to jump up in preparation to train alert.

He’s a field golden retriever! My program doesn’t allow jump alerts, so we have to correct it!

Are you ever going to get another personal service dog our are you just going to keep training for a program?

Do you have any advice for working a dog through sound sensitivity

Gradual exposure to noises in controlled environments. For example, playing loud sounds in a room and being able to control the volume level, and pairing those sounds with something positive (dinner time or play time)
