2019 Ram classic, im getting about 18 mpg. Mostly highway miles tho. I've also been told to run '89, so that probably helps.

I haul my 5500lb camper regularly across NJ through PA and upstate NY. Took it all the way out to the mid west on a big haunting camping trip. I bought the Ram1500 v6 etorque crew cab over the v6 Hemi. 13.5 MPG through mountains maintaining 60-70MPH. Very rarely have I ever topped 4000 RPMS (with 1 exception traveled through PA and forgot tow haul mode once at most I hit 4500 RPMs). 58k sticker price bought for 48k Fully loaded minus the airbag suspension. I invested extra money in a good weight distribution hitch. City driving I get 22-24MPG all day long. Drive the beach regularly on the Jerseyshore. V8Hemi has no use for me I will never haul 10,000lbs 😆

You are not supposed to use “o/d tow/haul mode” over 55mph. It prevents shifting into a higher gear, and can overwork your shit

I have a 2011 5.7, if I'm going at 60-65 for long distance I'll get 15 but typically get 13-14 when I'm driving for work but it's a lot of stop and go so 🤷‍♂️ I also live on base, gotta love the slightly cheaper gas prices 🤣

Lets be fair here: The HEMI MDS on 4 cylinders gets better highway mileage than the v6 firing on all six cylinders. Also downgrading to 17” wheels will help MPGs in city driving. They are much lighter.

My 2010 ram sport with 5.7 hemi gets better fuel economy than my old Ford ranger did. I'm getting 20mpg from 87octane, but with WAYYY more punch and without my friends laughing at my shitbox ranger 🤣👍

A friend of mine has a RAM 1500 (the previous model) upgraded with an LPG or CNG liquid gas tank. The liquid gas is way cheaper than petrol here in Germany. And the truck sounds as same as V8 as before - plus it's cheaper to drive so he doesn't care to cruise slowly or to push the pedal to the metal :D The disadvantage is that it takes some space from the "trunk" (he has this hardtop on the bed) and it takes longer to fill up the car with this liquid gas but like I said ... it's cheaper for him, as cheap to don't care and enjoy the great sound of his truck.

I live in Belgium, and have a Bifuel HEMI as well. It's LPG (propane/butane), called autogas, and actually, the tank usually sits underneath the truck giving you about the same mileage as gasoline and the entire bed. I opted for the longer range tank as well, so I have almost 100 liters of gasoline + 160 liters of autogas, also a 4th gen, and a slightly shorter bed. Gasoline is $5,5/gal, autogas is $2,5/gal... Averaging 20 L/100 km (about 12 mpg US), it ain't too bad! I only go through half a tank of gasoline every 2 months (which is when I fill up, to avoid the gas going bad or the pump running dry, that's also when the gas light will come on on a BiFuel model). It still needs a little bit of gasoline when cold starting, and I try to never run out of autogas (it'll just switch back to gasoline on the fly) cuz gas just too expensive over here!! 🤣 I got a V6 loaner and they're so anticlimatic to drive, but gas economy is insane (averaging 19 mpg US). But it feels like there's zero torque on the highway lol... can't wait to have my Hemi back!!

Yes, just not as many of us would have them. Fuel prices have sky rocketed here to over $4 gal average nationwide ($6-$8 in some places) & people still drove them. They were CHEAP during that time too. In '07, I bought an '06 single cab, short wheel base dodge ram SLT with the hemi that had almost 15k miles on the odometer for out the door $15,675. A yr old truck with the same mileage & price wouldn't last a day in today's market.

What the hell man? My mom's 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Crew Cab Short Bed 4x4 5.7L Hemi V8 3.92 gears gets 22mpg at best and as low as 16mpg. It also does not have eTorque with the autostart-stop and 130lb-ft of torque before 2,000 rpms to help increase mpg. Just the regular MDS system. Not to mention, with the 3.92 gears, fuel economy isn't as great in the same configuration if it were to have 3.21 gears.

I have a 2021 with Etorque, same 3.92 gears. I get 20-21 mpg at 70-75 mph average. Over a 700 mile trip. Including passing people etc. Slow down closer to 60 on rural roads and gas mileage goes up closer to 24.

Shit mpg, I just test drove a 2020 5.7 that the dealer loaned me for day. Sharp truck and rides like a dream. But I got 15.7 mpg (straight highway) on a roughly 80 mile trip with the cruise set at 70-75 smh. I'll stick with a Ford F150 2.7 EB that has plenty of get up & go but still get me 22mpg easily 😐
