It tickled all those right spots. Showrunners decided, "we will always have to have a moment where characters just talk about shit.... so we will save those moments for either brand new story driven moments that could have easily happened off-page in the manga ORRR, to explore a character a little deeper than the anime with the larger range of subtle expressions that a real human face can make." I missed the Gin and Don Krieg plot line, but if I'm watching the show blind I think It felt very natural for him to join the crew. The scene where Zeff tells him Sanji not to waste his life follow his dreams was very emotional and served a strong send off. He also had a great chemistry with Luffy and how good of a person cared for his friends when he rushed in to save Zoro.

Personally, if you had to cut a villain in East Blue, it's either Kuro or Don Krieg. I think they made the right call
@geoffreyedgson7875
@geoffreyedgson7875 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. Although, for only 8 episodes, adding Krieg might have given the show "Power-Rangers" vibes, with a villain of the week at the expense of deeper character building. Plus....Krieg was a great foil for Luffy and Arlong in the Anime, yet in the wider scope, he was nauseatingly entitled and arrogant; -"Strongest man in the World" the guy evidently never heard of Whitebeard. PLus, he never reappears after the East Blue: Buggy and Alvida did appear again in the Marineford Saga, plus Arlong had repercussions all the way to Fishman Island.

@@CouchRadishPersonally I think garp calling on Mihawk to take down Luffy was dumb. I prefer how it was handled in the manga/anime. As long as the scenario ends with Luffy KOing kreig.

One more thing that I noticed was missing was the reason why Sanji fights only with his legs. For a fan is obvious, he doesn’t want to hurt si hands because he needs them in perfect condition for cooking. But for someone who is first watching the show could be just weird. Having Garp act like a serious military officer throughout the beginning of the series, then having him go into "Grandpa Mode" and throw a Cannonball at Luffy was one of my favorite parts, especially with him laughing right after Luffy throws the ball back since then you see that inside he is still the same old Garp.

I think Garp is misunderstood by many in this series. Garp is actually scared of Luffy becoming the new Gol D Roger and he doesn't want him to be executed. At the same time he's as confident as Luffy in the opinion, that everyone should be free to pursue their dreams. I can kind of understand that agony in him and him failing over and over again because of that.

I think people in general just don't like him not being so "Garp" like. But as you said it they focused more in the storyline you had explained and they played with playing the myterybaroind himnof "who is this vice admiral guy" like in the story. And I loke how they represented that visually as Garp is slightly showing signs "of acting out similarities with Luffy" as Koby is getting to know more of Garp until the reveal he is Luffy's Grandpa. People also miss that even in the manga and anime Garp do act very unlike Garp when it comes to serious things concerning Luffy. Like there is a switch up of persona when he fights Luffy after water 7 and when he stops luffy at Marine Ford.

I think that decision to incorporate Garp's and Coby , Helmepo marine activities is a westerner writer's ignorance of anime style story telling. They insist in applying western Tropes on adapting things from asia, thats why they keep failing. Garp's and Luffy's relationship was not really exagerrated like this , readers just know there is something bigger between the lines. But westerners always want to dumb down things thats why they need to write an elaborate expositional family drama within the storyline.

Personally the way Garp acted in the LA had me thinking back to Marineford and what happed to Ace. That’s exactly why he was doing all of that. He didn’t want his grandson executed or even killed by a bigger, badder pirate. First his son becomes the most dangerous and wanted man in the whole world, then he “loses” two adoptive grandsons and now his own grandson. Personally I enjoyed how they portrayed his character conflict and we got to see more of how conflicted he feels as a vice admiral but I get why some may not like it. He always seems trapped in the war against the pirates, but subconsciously proud of his grandkids for following their dreams. My major gripes are that they kinda made Luffy less of a beast. Admittedly, they couldn’t do all the stretchy stuff cuz CG, but against Kuro, OG Luffy rips off one of his claws by grabbing a boulder and blocking his claw and subsequently breaking it apart. I actually really liked the Garp moment when Luffy Gomu Gomu Ballooned the canonball. It felt like he was surprised that Luffy could do that (Luffy himself said he didn't know he could), but then he was torn between being mad and proud of Luffy's growth and ability to stall a Navy ship so easily, much less HIS ship. That was my read on that scene at least. I do think some of his later freak outs made less sense, but I did like that it always ended in laughter, because Garp doesn't usually display anger for long.
@amras9857
@amras9857 Жыл бұрын
I honestly really liked Garp. Cause we as fans know that Garp is not trying to kill Luffy. He is always testing him or rather trying to raise him in his weird violent way. In the last real conversation we really get Garp; the man who could just wipe the floor with Luffy and basically everyone in the East Blue without breaking a sweat and then his reasoning why he did not do it. The cannonball scene perfectly captures that for me we get his violent outburst when Luffy disrespects him but when Luffy shows that he can actually retaliate without just being strong but creative Garp becomes really proud about it. And that is what makes One Piece for me we get one side but later we get new information and reread/rewatch things and we can actually see that the new information fits with the situation. Sure his switching between his outburst and laughter might seem a little weird at first but this is the guy who broke a wall, blitzed a sleeping Luffy and then falls asleep while beating Luffy...and then becoming angry that Luffy also fell asleep. He always was the guy with the crazy mood swings or rather a really loud personality. What really made me feel "Yes this Garp is Luffys Grandpa" is the scene where he breaks luffys "ship", shouts at him that the training begins, tosses him over his should but wont start before having lunch.

This take! I agree, and I personally really enjoyed his screen time. His conversation with Zeff was one of my favorite changes, really talking about the importance of it being the next generation's turn. I also thought the B-story with him, Coby, and Helmeppo this early on set up a nice low key parallel story with the concept of "Good Pirate/Good Marine" before they introduce Smoker and likely put Garp's team on the back burner all of next season.

You're spot on. The Don Krieg changes make Sanji very different. Now that you mention it, that is a large change that I feel was not as good as original, but again I can understand why the change was made.. 8:40 I thought the exact same thing when Sanji said, "Luffy needs us in there," to Zoro, when they were at Arlong Park. I get how it can seem too quickly but think about it more from Sanji's perspective, tough love ever since he was a kid, he's greatful for Zeff but he doesn't feel appreciated. The moment Luffy is introduced things got a little bit more fun is Sanji's life, they know so little about eachother but he already appreciates Sanji's cooking more than anyone around him, he was willing to help defend the Barietie just because Sanji cooked for them, and Luffy was right by Zoros side the moment he was injured. It's safe to say with all Sanji's seen in his life he can tell Luffy is just a little different. It makes sense when ee keep that in mind

Overall, I thought it was really good. It really shows that it was made by fans, who put a lot of love and passion into it, and they nailed the most intense and dramatic moments. Like Liam said though, there were a few of omissions that really hurt. Aside from the ones he mentioned, one of my favorite moments in Arlong Park was Usopp actually considering faking his death against Chu so the others would defeat him instead...only to realize how pathetic he's being, and how if he does that, while the others put their lives on the line, he doesn't deserve to sail with them. That was a really powerful moment for Usopp, which to me, is when he truly gives his first big step to becoming a brave warrior of the sea. Another one is Nojiko and the rest of the villagers not knowing Nami's true intentions all along, and I really don't understand why they did it that way. The whole reason Nojiko gave herself her tattoos was to comfort Nami who was mortified about getting hers from Arlong, which she did because she knew what Nami was enduring. Also, Genzo telling Nami that they always knew what she was doing, but didn't tell her so she wouldn't feel tied by their hopes in case she decided she couldn't take it anymore and just fled, was also a really strong moment that really showed how much they cared about her. Like I said, they nailed almost everything, and yet small but strong omissions like these, left it just short of being absolutely amazing.

The issue i have with the writing is a lot of japanese-asian culture nuance emotional moments were cut. Hopefully a more asian-japanese culture intuned plus a massive fan can write it down. The important emotional moments were cut or not executed well like Sanji watching Zoro, Zoro not eating the rice ball while tied up, Usop's not being able to save Kaya or stand up against Kuro, even the mayor and the dog during the Buggy arc were not even adpated. American writers just dont get it. I noticed that the effort to WESTERNIZED the story made is hollywood's undoing. Somehow they dumb it down so that american audience get to understand it..

Dividing the Flashbacks over the course of the episodes to better fit the themes of the events in the episodes is an approach that is often used on TV, and in my opinion it worked especially with Luffy since you can really see the positive influence that Shanks was on him , as well as having Zoro climb the well in a symbolic way of him never giving up at the same time as his backstory is told.

True. Although the character development doesn't happen inside one episode; they establish the characters they have them commit actions that are natural, or part of the them just hidden away under the surface: -Zoro's focus on strength and honour (he doesn't commit to Luffy's crew until after Buggy's circus, and is completely dedicated after waking-up from the Mihawk duel). -Luffy's dedication to dreams (asking Nami and Zoro about their's, standing aside for Zoro to pursue his or die). -Usopp's lack of confidence (downplayed cowardice for basic survival instinct, and his lack of major fights until Arlong Park make the win over Chew carry greater weight) -Nami's suffering and sarcasm hiding her real self (instead of leaving the crew at the sign of danger, she sticks with Luffy and Zoro against Buggy and Mihawk, puts on an act of apathy and denial, then when utterly broken puts her faith in her friends) Character development was pretty fast, though in the broad scope happened a lot more well-paced than the Magna; from Shells Village=>Marineforward, apparently only 4-5 months went by in-universe. Magna chapters really give a lot of detail and make long-term timeframes feel extended instead of ridiculously short. All the character growth in the Netflix series, happening over the span of days or weeks, it actually gives the Straw Hats more time instead of less.

I don't think there's enough time between then and when we meet zoro to fully establish zoro's loyalty and honor toward luffy, which again the feeds bigger problem of the rearrangement of certain scenes straight up removing the emotional build up and weakening the character righting, as well as a lot of those emotional moments being literally explained instead of nuanced and intuitive.

I agree that that seemed to be their intent, but the fact that Garp felt almost desperate to catch Luffy at all costs instead of being calm and collected as someone of his stature normally would be after Luffy temporarily gave him the slip undermined his character quite a bit for me. In fact, because he got angry and was so fixated on catching Luffy above everything else, he felt a LOT less mysterious, threatening, and generally powerful than he did in the other forms of One Piece media. In fact, even after the Straw Hats actually met Garp at Water 7 after Enies Lobby, which was when we found out that Garp was kind of a messy goofball who picked his nose and randomly fell asleep and whatnot, the fact that he never really worried about anything built him up higher in my mind as someone about whom we still had a LOT to learn, especially now that we knew that he fought basically to a stalemate against Roger many times. Overall, even though the live action did show in the final episode that Garp is the way you described, they changed his personality in a way I didn't vibe with.

My biggest problem with the LA adaptaion was that Luffy seamed to be the only one who could smile or be happy for more than a few seconds. Even Gold Roger only briefly smiled at his execution. Garp was the most obvious example, whenever he did smile it felt really off because he either wasn't that powerful or had the same sense of justice. Add to that some imo really obvious plot points: - why did Jeff suddenly let him go? He didn't proof himself at all i feel like if you asked Jeff if he liked Luffy he should say sth like "nah he makes nothing but trouble". He didn't pay, dropped a bunch of his plates, fought arlong inside instead of going outside, needed him as a doctor... And in contrast to the anime didn't save the Baratie from Don Krieg. Yet he doesn't tell Garp where he is and says Luffy reminds him of Roger. When? Where? How? By caring about a dying Zoro? Maybe to protect Sanji or sth but it wasn't addressed at all - iirc Arlong never needed a card to the grand line in the original. And why would he? He is a fishman... He doesn't exactly need a ship to swim in the calm belt, and as a fishmen and former sun pirate he also should know about fishmen island and how to get there... So why would a map to the grand line help him like at all? Yeah maybe Nami could draw it but i highly doubt Arlong would put this much efford in a map of "how to get to the grandline". Wasn't explained... - Why would Luffy wilingly sabotage Shanks by eating his most valuable treasure? I feel like the real Luffy wouldn't have eaten the devil fruit if he knew how valuable it was to shanks... I don't get why they changed it because having him eat it because he was hungry was a much better story beat imo Yeah ik i am very critical of the writing but this is exactly the reason i can't watch shows like the flash or recent Marvel movies. It always feels like if you apply common sense you notice huge plot holes. I really liked the visuals, but the writing really broke the immersion for me.

For the record, I don't think Garp was testing Luffy intentionally, it was Luffy who thought it was a test, Garp did not confirm however. I believe Garp's original plan was genuinely wanting Luffy to be a Marine because he knew his grandson well that Luffy will go on Roger's path sooner or later, he does not want Luffy to end up like Roger so he sends resources to capture Luffy. However, seeing Luffy is so determined and most importantly is capable of fighting villains and having reliable crews, Garp knew that this is nothing he could do at this point other than letting him go. Sure, Garp could capture Luffy easily, but Garp said himself that he does not want to get promoted because he wants more free, he would want his grandson to have the same, go on the dangerous path but at least there is freedom.

i really liked how some of usopps funny lines were delivered. like in the baratie when nami asks how many battles they have had with the marines and Instantly usopp replies "atleast a couple dozen myself" and its just in the background and noone pays attention to it. that is really good usopp adaptation. also zoros cold comebacks. one thing to that i noticed while watching is that now that we know that luffy is joy boy, his confidence in stuff just going his way seems so much more clear. one minus i noticed about the quality tho: in the fight with zoro, nami and luffy vs axe hand. zoro does a roll and his swords bend :I

I understand that it's a lot shorter version of it so the beats it's stepping to are going to be shorter, but man did the show make nojiko and the village unlikable by missing very important beats. Making them oblivious to namis doing and hating nami devalued it for me so much when those beats are specifically in the character designs like nojikos tattoos in support of nami, like the oranges and windmill representing a mother and a father figure or the village trusting nami all along, putting up with it for nami and deciding to not put any more weight onto nami being the last drop that caused the breakdown. That part needed to be weighted heavier than some of the previous arcs that got the same ~2 episodes per arc treatment.

I think this Garp was very reminiscent of luffys childhood flashback Garp. He is still hellbent on convincing luffy to be a marine before he first obtains a bounty. Of course it's very 'grandad growth' of Garp to realize he can't convince luffy and just say he was testing him the whole time. It's a bit suspension of disbelief (I think is the term) but this can kinda explain his reluctance to pursue luffy seriously as he would other pirates and yet still be insistent on that pursuit.

Why focus so hard on Garp if Alabasta has no room for Garp (with the Smoker teaser at the end showing he will probably use his same manga role in the arc) and then after that is Skypea where there is absolutely no way to write Garp in.

It does seem like they wanted to make Koby a core character of the show, so Garp is gonna come with it. I anticipate that they will include a lot of Koby B Plot that will still keep Garp relevant throughout. They kind of have to, since his climactic moments just won't hit at all if he's absent for most of the series + locking down an Actor for a super important character who is a glorified cameo (from a showrunning standpoint) would be a logistical annoyance at best.

Passion for the source material? For real? They literally removed *ALL* important and/or generally cool scenes from Arlong Park: Nami saving Zoro from drowning himself Zoro slaughtering fishmen when Arlong was away Nami fake-stabbing Usopp Luffy "having a nap" An unfathomably epic shot of the whole crew after "help me" moment, instead of just Sanji having an awkward smoke Luffy thrashing Nami's room after realising what happened there. List could go on for a while. Bonus: for some bogus reason they decided to make Nojiko hate Nami all along... Despite having all those tattoos she got to make Nami feel better about being brainded by Arlong.

@endlessnoodle3056 There was stuff I missed as well, but it is impossible to make it 1 for 1. They got the important parts right for me. Some of the things you mentioned were in the live action as well like Zoro fighting the fishmen and Luffy destroying the map room. I agree that the walk to Arlong park wasn't as epic as I was hoping. They definitely included it still, but it was cut short when they saw coco village burning. This is a very condensed version of the story. They can't include all the little moments that make one piece anime and manga so amazing, but they do a good job of hitting the important beats and emotional moments.
@endlessnoodle3056
@endlessnoodle3056 Жыл бұрын
@@onel0uder114 nope, those things weren't there. Zoro cutting a few fishmen in the final fight isn't the same as Zoro being caught by fishmen, baiting Nami into showing her true feelings, slaughtering half of Arlong Park by himself while wounded and sitting in Arlong's chair like a boss. Sure, it doesn't change the end result either way, but we watch things for epic moments, not for a speedrun of a plot. Also, no, map room scene doesn't count. Original: Arlong corners Luffy into the map room. Being a sadist that he is (which he isn't in LA, by the way), Arlong taunts Luffy by telling him what happened there. Luffy finds a pen, covered in Nami's blood. Arlong asks Luffy "See, could you use her better than that?" and points Kiribachi at him. Luffy, who prior to that was demolished by Arlong, gets fucking enraged at hearing "use her", grabs Kiribachi and shatters it with his fingers. Arlong shits himself. Luffy breaks the room, kicks a table through a wall. Nami observes from the outside, realises what's happening, it's tastefully mixed with flashbacks of Nami spending her childhood in that room. And then it's finished with a fantastic frame of Nami crying in relief and thinking "Thank you...". Ends with pure epic of Luffy saying "I don't know how great you fishmen are or what happens to your maps. I don't know the whole story, but now I know how to help her. This room... I will not allow it to exist. GOMU GOMU NO... ONO" Live action: Luffy instantly breaks Kiribachi just because. He can't beat fake-Arlong (who just stands there and tanks hits. Loses teeth once but never uses them to actually bite Luffy... You know, they only way he could ever damage Luffy). Luffy realises he can't beat fake-Arlong like that and decided to drop a building on him by breaking the pillars. Arlong gets mad about losing his maps, charges Luffy and gets axed. Nami isn't involved in any meaningful way.

I agree with the Sanji part. I also agree with breaking up the flashback part. However, I like the Garp stuff overall. It is interesting to see more of a bond being built between him and Coby. I think Garp testing Luffy is in-line with his character. I always got the vibe that Garp became a Marine to help people but enjoyed his freedoms (not wanting to answer directly to Celestial Dragons). He never seems to have an issue with Luffy's desire for freedom or how he goes about being a pirate. He almost seems proud of what Luffy does. He was opposed to Luffy being a pirate because he feared it would lead to his death or that's how it seems. So... having Warlord of the Sea test out his grandson before he enters a way bigger adventure tracks. But Liam has been a fan longer than I have and maybe I misread things.

I really liked the sets, music, casting for all the grown up crew, the villains and their casting, and the way they thread the needle of what to keep and what to change. Ussop being an afterthought in his own character arc was not great, but the biggest "Huh?" moment for me was Nojiko still having the tattoos she got in solidarity with Nami while also not knowing about Nami's deal with Arlong. I feel the missing layer of everyone in Nami's village knowing what she's doing, but hiding that fact to try and make Nami give up helping Arlong weakens the impact of that scene. When revealed, it breaks her heart all the more and conveys how powerless Nami and her people have felt for so long, but not enough time is spent on showing that inner turmoil. That, and no Jango or Hatchi. I get Hatchi though; doing 6 arms on a person is probably hard on the budget after building a bunch of really cool ships. Overall a very good adaptation.

It's a tricky situation. If they added two more episodes worth of content, while keeping the same end point, then by necessity things have to be spread out more, slowing the pace of the overall story. For OP fans that's good, but would first timers enjoy that pace? I'm not sure. I think for the end point they had in mind, and for the episode cap they had, the changes were all pretty good. I just hope they get longer seasons in the future, since there's no way we're getting to the end of the Alabasta Arc next season in 8 episodes without substantially changing the entire thing.

Yeah ultimately my feeling was that it could have really used an episode or two more to flesh out things a little more, especially with Syrup village backstory and Baratie. Skipping the don krieg fight was fair enough due to time constraints but I felt they didn't the viewer much idea about the baratie being the restaunt of "fighting cooks" or at least a nod to sanji being trained by zeff or something. Afaik according to the interview with one of the showrunners that got leaked early (and probably will be up again soon) they originally planned to have 10 episodes for this season which would have also included Loguetown but that ended up having to be cut in the end. Maybe that would have left some space for moving some flashback scenes a bit later (e.g Zoro flashback) but idk.

I agree with most of that, I have still 2 episodes left to watch but so far I enjoyed it, yet I feel it's missing a lot of what I personally loved about One Piece: The tears. While watching the anime, there were so many moments that made me cry, starting with the dog and its pet food shop, but also Usopp's backstory, Zoro's backstory, Sanji's backstory, Sanji leaving the Baratie, all of those moments in the Live Action felt dull to me, almost inexistant. I don't know how they could've made it better in only 8 episodes, but maybe with the right music I would've received the right emotion, like Memories or Idk. I didn't see Nami's story yet, but I hope it will catch up with it, I mean, I understand that the point of One Piece would not be to make the watchers cry at every single of 8 episodes, but for Nami, if I don't get the right emotion, I will be very disappointed... So far I feel they made perfectly almost everything they show, they just don't show enough. I hope that for a season 2 they will have more time for impactful moments, I wanna cry for Chopper!

To cut story short. They didnt nail those moments for me either. I only felt something when Koby decide to leave Luffy end of ep1 and ep 8. Thats about it.

@@chinhoewongsame thoughts. Of all the things to miss, the emotional scenes will make or break this. Especially Arlong park. It was very lukewarm and missed the essence of Nami and her backstory. 😩

They should have fleshed out, the relationship between Nami and the cocoyashi villagers (especially Genzo and Nojiko) more, and i hate how in this adaptation they just straight up hate her, and i dont like the idea that Nami is the one making the deal with Arlong.

@@beemillo4741 exactly. The backbone of Help Me is the reciprocal love between Nami & Cocoyashi village and her trauma of never asking help due to the continuous narrative of Bellemere’s death & what happened to Genzo. These little things that Oda puts his magic into is writing which makes OP great. How they characterized Bellemere & Genzo in this adaptation is almost criminal due to how great these characters are. With Nami’s character, I don’t hate it but I also don’t love it as much as I adore my baby girl (one of my fave anime girlies). They made in her cool girl era to be badass whereas Nami is supposed to be catty, bitchy, soft, and girly. You can be all those things in the latter but also still be strong and kind at the same time. Her characterization needs a female touch or somebody who at least deeply understand strong female characters.

I love how it feels faithful to the original material, but is tweaked just enough to feel refreshing and new! Also love the compare/contrast of the Straw Hats relating to one another. Example: When Sanji said "Do you know what its like for someone to sacrifice a limb for you?" And Luffy was like YES

@4infiniteokay, but it seems your gripes also blinded you with what the series also did good. I won't put it as the best live action but its is still good in general. And also I welcome that Luffy did met Merry first before actually it being given to them. Like the made the plotline of Merry being an actual crew pretty early on. Since in the manga that more so happens silently. Like in the anime Merry was not a ship they probably would choose if they the Strawhats are given a choice.

@4infiniteobjectively untrue. anime is just different and though there were moments and structure i liked better in anime especially with regards to garp, mihawk and buggy the rest of it i enjoyed more inive action.

The way you mentioned Ussop being a side character in is arc is kinda how I feel Brook was in Thriller Bark, especially in the final fight where he just watches and throws Luffy

I felt a lot of the changes were gr8 ideas and well done for most part. 2 changes where I prefer original: I liked it better when the villagers knew what Nami was doing but pretended, that felt more poignant to me, and it made villagers feel more realistic and smart. And I missed the pinwheel theme(it was there in this one too, but not the same) and the big sea beast stuff. I feel I understand why it was cut/changed, but I really liked those parts. Probably the character that has changes to their story that I enjoyed least were w Nami tbh. And I loved the actress! I thought she did awesome. Don't get me wrong, I felt Nami story and role were awesome. I just preferred the original Nami story and the developments for Arlong Park, just imo. But I adored Nami as a character in this one too.. I absolutely loved the cast! Forreal I felt they were amazing 🔥 Ofc Luffy actor kills it. Zoro actor is so perfect w his deadpan and sarcasm. I feel Usopp and Sanji are the most different from source material in terms of the character, but I still loved them and felt they did super well. And I really liked the reminiscent, bonding meal Zef and Garp had. It helped carry some weight and establish some of the history and feel of the world for me. I liked that part a lot.

I hate that they didn’t bring key moments in boss fights like for example Kuros fight in the end was near a beach / mihawk arriving in his ship / arlong checking zoros chest . BUT the one thing I really got upset about was sanji not saying his goodbye properly (being grateful like in the anime/manga)

The one thing I think Garp’s B story does is bring the element of the marines to the story that the original chapters/episodes don’t really capture. We see them in the first couple episodes of the anime and then none again until Baratie (super limited interaction). This also gave them the opportunity to introduce elements of the One Piece world- for example the warlord system, or how marines ultimately answer to a higher power (celestial dragons). Things like that foreshadow events/plots that will come in future seasons, hooking viewers and explaining important elements of the world in an organic way that will allow the story to flow. I do agree they kinda brushed over a lot of Garp’s character, but this allows for more character development over the series - something a mainstream audience typically enjoys to see. I think we’ll have our Garp by the Paramount War assuming the series manages to make it that far
